The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 370

Chapter 370

In the evening, in Ronan's bedroom.

"Did you tell Cordelia about Tabitha coming home?" Ronan lounged on the sofa, one leg draped over

the other, addressing Janice.

"Tabitha?" Janice frowned, looking puzzled. "Who's Tabitha?"

"You didn't tell her?" Ronan asked again.

"Her? Who's her?" Janice was even more confused. "Mr. Evans, could you please give me some

context? You're leaving me in the dark here."

Ronan stared at Janice for a moment, making sure she was clueless before he told her to leave. As

Janice made for the bedroom door, Ronan suddenly asked, "By the way, how did your son do in his

exams?"

"Oh." Janice's face lit up. "He got accepted into Birchwood College's finance department. He's still

working at the oil field now."

Seeing Janice's sudden change in expression, Ronan knew that her previous confusion wasn't an act.

"Off you go."

...

Meanwhile, far away in the U.S., Cordelia received her acceptance letter for the fall semester. This

meant that Cordelia would be starting school in a few days. She threw herself into preparing for the

new semester and cramming finance terms, temporarily forgetting about Ronan.

A few days later, Cordelia started school. At the start of the semester, Cordelia was quite busy. Despite

having prepared herself for the difficulty of the courses and having learned a fair amount, she found

herself struggling to understand the lectures. Sometimes, she struggled to understand the financial

jargon, and other times, even if she understood the meaning, she couldn't find the relevant information

in her textbooks. Suddenly, Cordelia felt like the most ignorant person in the world.

It was no surprise that the more one learned, the more one realized their ignorance. Had Cordelia not

ventured out of her comfort zone in Millstone, she might have remained complacent and satisfied with

her small world, like a frog in a deep well. Now, even though she was anxious, Cordelia was also

excited because she recognized her shortcomings.

As for the men in black suits who were after her, they remained quiet, and Cordelia gradually lost her

initial fear.

Studying finance was challenging, but every time Cordelia absorbed new knowledge, she felt fulfilled,

like a sponge soaked in water. Compared to the romantic dramas in Millstone and Ronan's rumors, NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

these no longer occupied Cordelia's thoughts as much.

Cordelia frequented the library, aware of her lack of knowledge, and even brought books to the dining

hall. She became a diligent scholar.

One day, as Cordelia was walking from the lecture hall to her dormitory with books in hand, she saw a

woman searching for something on the lawn.

"Whatcha looking for?" Cordelia approached and asked.

The woman raised her head with a worried look on her face. "My purse."

Cordelia took a closer look at the woman. Her hair was soft and delicate, and her eyes were kind. She

was quite pretty. Cordelia thought, “I feel like I've seen her somewhere before.”

"I feel like I know you somewhere." Cordelia said.

"Oh, I'm a visiting scholar from Birchwood College. My name is Petra. Nice to meet you." Petra

extended her hand to shake Cordelia's.
