The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 440

Chapter 440

Ronan didn't head home, instead, he leisurely strolled with Callum around the campus of Birchwood

College.

He sent a text via WhatsApp.

"Dad, where are we going?" Callum seemed rather displeased and asked Ronan. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

"We're going to visit Dr. Dustin."

"Is he a friend of Granddad?"

"He was a student of your granddad."

"My granddad had students? Looks like Granddad and nice lady are both rich," Callum admired

earnestly.

"Nice lady?" Ronan raised an eyebrow.

He didn’t know how Cordelia did academically, but she sure knew how to reel in the younger men. So

far, the only acknowledged romance in Cordelia’s life was the one with Logan.

As for Ronan? Did Cordelia sell herself to him to save her mother? Or did she submit to Ronan’s

authority?

All their relationship left them with was a son, and a lost daughter.

Ronan didn't have Dustin's WhatsApp; he had heard about him from other people. He told Dustin he'd

drop by his house that evening.

Dustin was nervous. Ronan was not only the grandson of his respected teacher but also a notorious

entrepreneur in Millstone. Over the years, Dustin and Ronan had heard of each other but never

connected.

Dustin lived in a small house in the suburbs. He hastily had his wife tidy up, put on a pot of coffee, and

take a walk to give them some privacy.

"Dr. Dustin, long time no see." Ronan arrived, taking in the surroundings. "So this is what a Birchwood

College staff housing looks like."

"Yes, it's quite cozy," Dr. Dustin replied, following Ronan's gaze. "Ronan, are you scouting for

someone?"

"No, just looking around."

"Excuse the mess. We had settled down elsewhere, but when our son got accepted to an out-of-state

university, and I still had students to mentor, we moved back here for convenience. My wife doesn't

have to cook for me every day, and I can just grab meals at the university’s cafeteria. When I first met

you, you were about your son's age. Time flies, doesn’t it? And this is your son, right?"

"Yes," Ronan replied, then turned to Callum and said, "Callum, say hi to Dr. Dustin."

"Dad said you're very rich, Dr. Dustin. I should learn from you." Callum was quite savvy, and his words

brought a smile to Dustin's face.

Dustin didn't quite understand what this meant, but he laughed heartily. "Your dad is the richer one;

very few people don’t know him."

"I heard you set up Harold with a girlfriend," Ronan steered the conversation back on track.

"Yes, Cordelia, right? A PhD graduate from overseas, freshly appointed as a lecturer, working under Dr.

Young to supervise postgraduates. My student Harold never had a scandal in his four years of college,

despite the long line of girls chasing after him. It's rare for him to take interest in someone so

accomplished, how could I not play matchmaker?" Dr. Dustin was rather proud talking about

matchmaking Harold and Cordelia.

"You need to stop your matchmaking. Cordelia is my wife."

Dustin fell silent. His face turned pale, then flushed. He awkwardly picked up his mug and took a sip of

coffee.

Callum looked at Ronan surprisingly, thinking, “Is Dad finally coming to his senses?”

"But I've already set them up," Dustin said awkwardly.

"That's fine; just don't do it again."

"I'm sorry, Ronan, we had no idea about Cordelia's family situation. We didn’t know she and you..."

Dustin’s gaze fell on Callum.

There were many things he didn’t understand, like whose child was Ronan's and how Cordelia became

Ronan's wife, but since Ronan had made it clear, it was inappropriate to continue the matchmaking.

After all, he was a teacher, not a matchmaker. He was only trying to help.
