The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 443

Chapter 443

Cordelia was staring at her lesson plans, the words sounding eerily familiar. She was suddenly

reminded of her time teaching under Ronan. Back then, they all used to talk about her the same way.

She missed those times terribly.

But when she lifted her gaze, she saw Samantha sitting at the back of the room.

Samantha, and Alana, were the reason Cordelia had lost contact with her children. They had forced her

to travel across the Atlantic for three years, returning only to become a stranger to her kid.

Cordelia clenched her teeth.

Harold watched Cordelia with a smug expression.

Samantha was also watching Harold from behind, thinking, “This boy is something special. A basketball

player who excels in studies as well, a combination of brains and brawn. What girl wouldn't fall for him?

And he's so handsome, so captivating.”

Samantha leaned on the table, gazing at Harold with the eyes of a smitten fan. She was a second-tier

actress, a fact that made her feel somewhat arrogant. She thought to herself, “Why should Cordelia

have all the good men?”

Furthermore, Samantha was not getting any younger. She had dismissed all the suitors her mother had

introduced to her in the past, and now that she was well-off, she found them even less appealing.

At her age, she was ready for a man in her life. She found Harold's bad boy charm and boy-next-door

appearance incredibly appealing.

In the afternoon, Cordelia had to attend a meeting at Empower Operations.

After lunch, she hailed a cab and left.

Harold was waiting for the bus at the school entrance. As an intern, this was his first time going to

Empower Operations.

Samantha's private car passed by. "Harold?" Samantha rolled down her window and greeted him.

"Samantha." Harold’s acknowledgment and smile were just right, making him irresistible in Samantha’s

eyes.

Harold had always assumed Samantha was Cordelia's cousin and treated her with a certain decorum.

Moreover, Harold felt he was younger than Cordelia and wanted to win approval from her family.

"Where you headed? I can give you a lift," Samantha offered. "I finished shooting for the day and have

nothing planned. I was going to hit the mall."

"Okay."

"You can sit up front with me. My mom is in the back."

Once inside the car, Harold politely greeted Sienna, "Hello."

"This boy sure is sweet," Sienna remarked. "He and Cordelia would make a great pair. Where are we

headed?"

Sienna had always obeyed Alana's orders, pushing for a relationship between Harold and Cordelia,

and hoping to get some benefits for Samantha in the process.

"Oh, downtown to Empower Operations. You can just use the GPS. It's easy to find," Harold replied.

Samantha parked her car by the roadside, and keyed in "Empower Operations" into the GPS. The

system indicated that it would be less than half an hour's drive. Samantha wished the journey could be

longer. Maybe even a couple of hours.

Harold was also busy replying to messages on his phone.

His roommate Joseph had texted him. [Harold, I saw you getting into Samantha's car. Since you guys

are so tight, can you get me her autograph? I could use some bragging rights; having a celebrity's

autograph is a big deal.]

[Sure, hold on.]

"Samantha, could you do me a favor? My roommate wants your autograph. Could you sign something

for him?"

"Of course." Samantha was clearly overjoyed.

Due to her looks and her "strong, independent woman" roles, Samantha had fewer fans compared to

other celebrities of her caliber. She rarely got asked for autographs on the street, which made her more

of a critically acclaimed type of actress.

Harold needing a favor was a request Samantha couldn't resist. She hadn't even started the car when

she pulled out a photograph and signed it for Harold.

"Do you want one?" Samantha asked Harold.

Harold thought to himself, “To say no would embarrass Samantha.”

So he said, "If it's not too much trouble, could I have one too?"

"No trouble at all." Samantha pulled out another photograph.

This one was a bit risqué, showing her in a revealing camisole, leaving little to the imagination.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

"Oh, it's fine," Harold said politely.

Samantha signed the picture and handed it to Harold.

He casually put it in his backpack. "Thanks, Samantha."
