The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 490

Chapter 490

"Mmm. I don't want to buy the college's one. This apartment is enough for me. It's more convenient to

live on campus," Cordelia lowered her head, not mentioning her plans to buy a house in Edith Hills.

She still had her daughter in her heart, which meant she was still thinking about her past relationship

with Ronan.

"Are you sure you're not buying?"

"I'm sure."

"Then where will I stay when I visit?"

Cordelia turned her head, looking at him. "You're overthinking." She never intended to let him stay.

"Also, did you check what I asked you to?" Cordelia asked him. She guessed that even if Ronan was

very resourceful, he couldn't have found out so quickly. She asked purposely to prevent Ronan from

bringing up the subject of living or sleeping together.

"How could it be so quick?" Ronan countered.

The reason he didn't check was not that he couldn't, but he didn't want to. He didn't want to know about

her social connections. He had lost interest when he found out that her dad had given him his cornea

and that she wasn't his biological daughter. Actually, he didn't need to know who she was. It was

enough that she was herself.

"You have to keep your word," Cordelia said.

Ronan chuckled lightly, insincerely saying, "I will."

"Where are you staying tonight?" Cordelia asked again, a bit worried.

"I'll go back to my grandpa's."

Only then Cordelia sighed in relief. His wolf-like nature, especially in bed, was quite intimidating. She

was somewhat afraid of him.

Ronan had almost finished tidying up the room. He clapped his hands and went to the bathroom to

wash them when his phone rang.

It was Petra.

He slightly furrowed his brows. "Hello," he said.

"Jayson is sick. He has a fever of over 102 degrees. I just adopted him and don't know what to do.

What should I do?" Petra sounded helpless and frantic, showing signs of desperation.

"Sick? Why don't you take him to the hospital?"

Cordelia heard him say someone was "sick" and was very concerned. She was worried for the sick

person.

"But I don't have a car, and I can't drive. I'll try," Petra sounded frantic, on the verge of tears.

Ronan furrowed his brows again. "Wait, I'll come." He seemed a bit impatient, not wanting to deal with

this, but had no choice.

"You... are you in Birchwood? I just called to vent."

"Wait for me, I'll drive over," Ronan said and hung up.

"Who's sick?" Cordelia asked.

"Jayson."NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Cordelia hadn't seen the child that Petra had adopted. She had seen him at school before, but Tabitha

hadn't let her see him. It made sense that Petra would contact Ronan because of this.

"Aren't you going?" Ronan's gaze fell on Cordelia's worried face.

"I have to go to the registrar's office this afternoon to submit forms, so no. I won't be of any help and

might just cause trouble. Just let me know when the boy gets better," Cordelia declined.

Ronan picked up his coat and left. The room was quiet again.

After thinking for a while, Cordelia decided that since Ronan was going, the child should be fine. Even

though she was repulsed by Tabitha, the child was innocent and quite pitiful.

When Ronan arrived at Petra's, she was like an ant on a hot pan.

"Why is he so hot?" Ronan said after touching the boy's forehead.

"He probably caught a cold. He kept kicking off his blanket last night," Petra said.

"Grab the necessary documents and come with me to the hospital."

"I've already prepared them," Petra patted her bag. She was used to this.
