The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 498

Chapter 498

[We haven't decided yet,] Cordelia replied.

[Where are you now?] He asked again.

[I'm at school with Brooklyn.]

[I'll swing by and pick you guys up. We can figure out where to go on the way.]

"Sounds good.]

Ronan was no stranger to their school. His pickup truck was parked nearby, ready to whisk Cordelia,

Brooklyn, and Andi away for the impromptu outing.

The three of them squeezed into the backseat.

"Hey, godfather!" Andi greeted Ronan enthusiastically.

"Hey, sweetheart."

"Now we have both your godfather and godmother around," Brooklyn said, turning to Cordelia. "What's

in your bag, Cordelia? It's so hard."

Brooklyn had inadvertently bumped into Cordelia's bag. Remembering the leftovers from last night's

dinner still inside, Cordelia tried to deflect the question. "Books, maybe? I always carry books in my

bag." All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Oh, okay." Brooklyn, not much of a bookworm, didn't press the issue further.

Soon, they arrived at the seafood grill Cordelia had chosen. It wasn't ideal, but at this hour, all the

upscale restaurants were fully booked. The grill was a new business offering a buy-one-get-one-free

deal, so Cordelia had settled on it.

Despite the grill's lack of sophistication, Ronan chose to bite his tongue for Cordelia's sake. They

settled at a table for four, with Ronan naturally taking the seat next to Cordelia.

As the server brought out their meals, Brooklyn started gossiping about a mutual acquaintance.

"Cordelia, did you know Samantha is now at Birchwood College? She's dating a much younger guy.

Can you believe it?"

"Really?" Cordelia asked, suddenly remembering Harold, who she had driven to college once before.

She showed Brooklyn a picture of Harold. "Is this him?"

"Yes, that's him. He's quite handsome." Brooklyn confirmed, picking at her grilled fish.

Cordelia's mind started racing. She had to warn Harold about Samantha.

"Do you have a picture of Harold?" Ronan asked suddenly.

"Yes, I do. I have pictures of all my students," Cordelia answered defiantly.

"What about mine?" He asked.

Cordelia hesitated before answering, "I don't have one of you. You're not a student of mine."

"Do you want me to give you one?" Ronan asked, leaning a bit closer.

"No, thanks," Cordelia responded, taking a bite of her fish.

"Are you two married?" Andi asked out of the blue.

Cordelia nearly choked on her fish.

"We used to be," Ronan said.

"And what about in the future?" Andi asked.

"We will be," Ronan answered.
