The Daring Billionaire’s Wife by Lypstical

Chapter 180

Aileen

For the past one month, Meryl has constantly begged me to tell her the identity of the man I'm seeing, but Liam told me to keep it a secret for now as he doesn't want it all over the news. I could always just secretly tell her and ask that she keeps her mouth shut, but

knowing how she loves to gossip at times, she might blurt it out.

We might both be from Oakbrook Village, but she left way earlier than I did for a better life. That's why I'm certain she knows who Liam Richards is.

While on the phone with her, I sit in front of the mirror, brushing through my wet hair and lost in thought.

"Hello? Aileen!" she yells from the other end of the line.

"Hmm? Did you say something?"

"What's wrong with you? I've noticed that you haven't really been paying attention to me during this conversation."

"Hey, it's not like that."

"Of course it is! I'm the one who's noticed it, not you. Now, what's going on?"

Thinking back to the sudden change in Liam's eyes after having a talk with his parents a few hours ago makes me clench my fist.

"It's nothing," I say to her.

"It's obvious you just don't want to tell me but I know something's wrong. Are you getting frustrated that it's taking so long to find any leads about your biological parents?" "Yes I am."

"You know what? It's not fair that you still won't tell me how you managed to hire such professionals. They obviously look expensive to hire just by the way they dress." "You're thinking too much. It was just an agency that offered to help." I try to sound dismissive.

"The same agency you won't tell me about?"

"Why do you keep asking me so many questions? The important thing is that they're doing their job, right?"

She scoffs. "Well, to be honest, they're not doing much. It's that difficult to find your parents. I thought it would be easy."This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

I sigh deeply. "Me too."

"Have you finally spoken to anyone back home?"

"Even after a month, no, but Abigail keeps bothering me."

"Why not just block her?"

"I don't think that would sit too well with my parents."

"Why does that matter? You left that place anyway."

"Yes, but they're still my parents."

"And you want nothing to do with them!"

"I know, but it's complicated."

"I can understand." She sighs.

"I just want to remind you again not to forget me on that guest list for your wedding!"

"Whoa! Calm down. It's not like I'm getting married tomorrow."

"I know, but I'm just making sure. Are you really going to marry this guy?"

"If things keep going the way they are, then yes."

She chuckles. "That's such a confident response. I guess he really does treat you right."

A knock on my bedroom catches my attention and my heart flutters a little, making me quickly end the call with Meryl.

As soon as I tell Liam to come in, I stand right against the dressing mirror, tightly gripping the sides of the table to contain myself. His eyes scan me from head to toe as he bites his lip. "Have I told you just how much I love seeing your hair so wet while you're in a bathrobe?"

I chuckle to hide my nervousness. "Of course you have and at this point, I've lost count."

He stops right in front of me, placing his hand on the side of my cheek and I close my eyes, leaning towards the palm of his hand.

"You're gorgeous. Do you know that?" he whispers.

"If I didn't know it before, I definitely know it now, thanks to you."

He chuckles.

Before I can open my eyes, he places his lips on mine, his hand sinking into my waist as he pulls me closer and I can't help but moan against his lips.

Though he's promised not to touch

me until the time is right, I can't deny

how much desire more each time

u

The way he touches me is also different each time as it gets more intense and it isn't any different right now. It almost feels like he just fights the urge to lower his hands to my thighs and lift me.

Just as his hard cock rubs against me, he begins to pull away from my lips but tugs on my lower lip with heavy breathing which matches mine.

"If we keep this up, I might not be able to keep my promise," he whispers seductively.

Reminding myself of how important it is to me, I look to the side with a smile. "I still want you to keep it."

"Then I'll do just that." He takes a step back. "So, what did you and my mom talk about? You still haven't told me."

I glance at his crotch as he adjusts his pants, the sensation between my legs a little hot.

"She actually told me not to tell anyone about our conversation, but it was better than what she did to me in the presence of everyone."

"Again, I didn't know that things would go that way. I'm sorry."

"It's okay," I assure him.

"But you know what? I knew you'd be able to handle yourself well and you definitely did." He smirks proudly. "That's why she was impressed." "She said that?" My eyes widen in pleasant surprise.

"Yes, my father was equally impressed."

"To be honest, it was hard to tell with those expressions they had. Are you sure you only spoke about a business deal gone wrong when you left with them?"

He sighs and pokes his cheek as his smirk fades. "Are we seriously coming back to this?"

"It's just that it didn't seem that way to me. It didn't make sense for them to constantly stare at me like that after the three of you joined us again."

"They were just being observant, that's all. Don't think too much."

While he's being dismissive, I can't force the answers out of him so I decide to give it a rest.

"Fine." I nod lightly.

Suddenly, his phone rings and he looks down at the caller ID, furrowing his eyebrows as he immediately declines the call.

"Who's that?" I ask.

"It's Josh. He's bugging me because I'm late."

"And that's why you suddenly look so irritated?" I narrow my eyes suspiciously.

"Why else would I be irritated?"

"I don't know. Why don't you tell me? This isn't the first time you've declined a call with that expression. I'm almost certain it's for the same reason, so why would it be Josh this time?"

"Fine. You really want to know? It's a fashion designer I spoke to some time ago. He's the best at designing wedding suits and he thought I'd hire him right away, but I changed my mind and now he won't leave me alone. I didn't tell you just because I you with it."

didn't want to bother

"Oh, I understand." I nod lightly.

"Now, get some sleep. I have to meet Josh tonight. My father has a task for us. Call me if you need anything."

With a gentle kiss on my lips, he

turns around to leave and I can't help but wonder if he'll ever tell me what they discussed with his parents about me. If he's still here with me, should I take it that everything's alright and I have nothing to worry about?
