The Imposter Bride (Natalia and Magnus)

Chapter 257

Chapter 257

The sound of footsteps approached from behind, and a group of maids quickly surrounded Lexi,

watching her with hawk-like eyes.

Lexi hung her head in defeat, as this group of maids encircled her. Her escape plan had failed!

By the time Callum sobered up, it was already pitch black outside. Rita briefed him on Lexi's attempted

escape. Callum raised an eyebrow. "Seems like the security in that room is lacking. Since she's been in

the princess room, she can stay there."

At Callum's command, Rita started to move Lexi to a new room. Suddenly, Callum's voice sounded

from behind. "Remember, be courteous to Ms. Lexi. She is my guest." Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Yes," Rita replied, and set off to carry out Callum's orders.

Staring at the pink princess room, Lexi asked Rita, "Can I be locked up in a different room?"

Rita looked at her. "This room was a surprise for Ms. Clarkson. You should be grateful you get to stay

here. Are you really complaining?"

With that, Rita shut the door and left.

Lexi finally realized that this room wasn't a manifestation of Callum's twisted fetish, but a surprise for

Natalia.

But why was she staying here?

Before she could figure it out, the door opened once again. This time, it was Rita, followed by two

maids carrying jewelry boxes.

Rita approached with a smile. "Miss, these are gifts from Mr. Callum. He hopes you enjoy your stay.

Just let us know whatever you need, and we'll do our best to provide it."

Looking at the jewels piled high in the boxes, Lexi was stunned. Was Callum trying to cage her like a

canary?

Whatever she needed? All she wanted was freedom.

"I want to leave. Is that possible?" Lexi asked Rita, her tone indifferent.

Rita laughed awkwardly. "Miss, you're making things difficult for a mere servant. We can provide

anything you want, as long as it's not your freedom. Like the latest handbags, clothes, makeup, you

name it."

"So, as long as money can solve it, it's not a problem." Lexi sneered, "I've never lacked money. What's

the point of being trapped in this gilded cage? It does not matter how fine the clothes or food are."

Rita didn't know how to respond. She simply led the two maids out, leaving Lexi alone in the room.

At the doorway, she turned back to Lexi. "Ms. Lexi, I hope you can face this temporary hardship

bravely. Mr. Callum is not as bad as you think."

After a respectful bow, Rita left silently.

Lexi had no response. Callum was the definition of disgusting and vile!

Staring at the luxurious pink room, Lexi felt a surge of rage. Without thinking, she knocked over a

dollhouse. The heavy dollhouse crashed to the ground, and the noise was muffled by the soft carpet.

Still unsatisfied, Lexi grabbed a rod from the wreckage and started smashing everything in sight. Soon,

the once cozy princess room turned into a wasteland of feathers and debris.

Looking at the destruction, Lexi felt a surge of relief. But as she threw her head back to laugh, tears

welled up and rolled down her cheeks.

No matter how extravagant or desolate, she was still a caged bird. Meanwhile, Natalia and Magnus had

flown back to their home in France. Magnus was in high spirits the entire journey, his joy almost

palpable.

Back in his French villa, under the warm sunlight, Natalia sat in a corner of the greenhouse, deeply

engrossed in her drawing.

Staring at Natalia, Magnus couldn't help but smile. This was his beloved wife, the woman he loved

more than his own life. In this life, the next, and each one after that, he would protect her, even if it cost

him his life.

Natalia was focused on her sketch when she noticed Magnus' intense gaze. She shook her head.

"What are you staring at?"

"You," Magnus replied, resting his chin on Natalia's head, his heart full of happiness. "Darling, why do I

always feel like I'm the luckiest man in the world?"

"Really?" Natalia pushed Magnus' chin off her head. "Leave me alone, I'm busy. Don't you have work to

do?"

Magnus came back like a dog with a bone. "Darling, how can you push me away when I'm pouring my

heart out to you? It really hurts. And if I have to handle everything at the company, what are the

managers for?"

Natalia sighed, "Fine, I can't win against you. Just don't disturb me when I'm busy."

"At your service!" Magnus saluted, then leaned in to look at Natalia's sketchpad. "What are you

drawing?"

Natalia didn't stop sketching as she answered, "I'm designing a brooch."

Looking at the sketch, Magnus gave a thumbs up. "I didn't know my wife could design such a beautiful

brooch. You're amazing."

Natalia couldn't help but laugh. "Come on, it's just a sketch, you know. Wait till I finish the painting, it

will need some touch-ups."

"Once it's finalized, it could only made into one brooch," Magnus claimed possessively. "It's the fruit of

my wife's labor. I wouldn't want anyone else coveting it."

Looking at Magnus, who was behaving like a child, Natalia could only feel helpless. Magnus seemed to

be her destined weakness. When it came to him, she was always at a loss.

"By the way, where's Jonas? How come I didn't see him following you?" Only then did Natalia realize

little Jonas wasn't trailing behind Magnus.
