The Imposter Bride (Natalia and Magnus)

Chapter 286

Chapter 286

Seeing the carefree smile on petite Lexi, Callum felt something he had never felt before. He realized

that other girls, apart from his beloved Natalia, could also have such bright smiles.

Time slipped quietly between their fingers, and before they knew it, a day had passed. After munching

on some fruit in her room, Lexi heard a knock on the door. "Come in."

Callum entered the room. "I tried a new recipe in the kitchen. I brought it for you to taste."

With that, he placed the silver tray he was carrying on the table.

Underneath the lid was an array of delicate Scottish shortbread and Victoria sponge cake,

accompanied by a small pot of handmade tea.

Lexi looked at the exquisite pastries in confusion. Weren't these just ordinary afternoon tea snacks?

What new recipe? However, she didn't voice her doubts. Instead, she offered Callum a polite smile.

"Thank you."

Callum seemed a bit taken aback and hesitated before asking, "You don't hate me, do you?"

Lexi was caught off guard, and her eyes flickered. "Would it make any difference? I can't change my

current situation. Besides, after what happened last time, I realized that freedom isn't as important as

life."

Her words struck a chord in Callum's heart. After all, he was the one who had imprisoned her. "Why

don't you try these pastries and see how you like them?" Callum suggested, pushing the tray of

pastries towards Lexi.

Despite not feeling hungry, Lexi felt it would be impolite to refuse, so she picked one up and popped it

into her mouth.

"Mmm, it's absolutely delicious! There's strawberry jam insid. It's so fresh." The pastries were indeed

delicious, and Lexi complimented them sincerely.

Her praise made Callum's lips curl into a smile. “Well, of course, I made them myself. It's the first time

I've tried baking, so I couldn't resist sharing them with you."

Lexi was surprised that the Duke himself would take up baking. It was a stark contrast to the image she

had of him. "You made these?"

"Yes, can't believe it? I've had some free time recently and thought I'd give it a try," Callum said,

popping a piece of pastry into his mouth. "Mmm, they're really delicious!"

Lexi was still in shock. Callum, the man she saw as a noble figure, was baking pastries. It was a

charming and unexpected side of him.

However, Lexi blinked a few times and said, "These pastries may be exquisite, but they're not as good

as Melfort food."

Callum's eyes lit up at the mention of Melfort food, "Exactly! One of the reasons I love Melfort so much

is because of its mouthwatering cuisine. But even Rita couldn’t make her food as authentic."

He sighed, "I should probably make another trip to Melfort, and while I'm there..."

He didn't finish his sentence, but Lexi understood. Callum wanted to go to Melfort largely to see

Natalia, didn't he?

With that thought, Lexi forgot all about her previous plans and asked sternly, "Callum, what do you want

exactly? Natalia loves Magnus. After so many years, they finally reunited. Please don't interfere with

their lives, okay?"

This hit Callum right in the heart. His good mood vanished, and he angrily swept the pastries off the

table. He grabbed Lexi's chin and yelled, "I just said I wanted to eat Melfort food. Why do you have to

bring up Natalia? Why?!"

Even Lexi was siding with that bastard Magnus!

Lexi glared back at Callum. "Did I hit a nerve? Is that why you're so angry? Callum, you can't force

someone to love you. If Natalia loved you, she would have fallen for you during the five years you lived

together. Why can't you understand that?"

"Stop it! Stop it! Don't say it!" Callum was furious. He felt like strangling Lexi in front of him. He knew all

these things, but like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, he refused to face the truth.

"You listen to me!" Lexi was equally stubborn, "Loving someone who doesn't love you back is the

greatest sorrow. There's so much more to life, why are you so obsessed? Callum, wake up! Stop

bothering Natalia and pursue your own life. You're outstanding. I'm sure many wonderful girls like you."

Callum looked at Lexi. Her words echoed those of Natalia. "No! Don't say it! They're not Buttercup, no

matter how good they are, what's the use? I love her, I can't live without her."

Seeing the almost crazed Callum, Lexi felt a pang of pity. This man, who seemed so regal, also had his

own unbearable pain.

"Callum, wake up. Face the reality. Natalia has her own life now. If you keep bothering her, it will only

cause her trouble, not happiness..."

"I said stop talking!" Callum roared angrily. His mind was dominated by rage. Without thinking, he

pressed his lips onto Lexi's, trying to silence her, preventing her from saying anything that would hurt

him.

"Stop... Get away..." Lexi struggled, trying to break free from Callum's grip. She must have been crazy

to provoke this man. Now, she had angered him, and it was backfiring on her.

Callum's passionate kiss was like a storm, overwhelming Lexi. The more he kissed her, the more

fervent he became. If she wanted him to find his own happiness, then he would start with her. He

wanted to see if she would still side with Magnus. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

Being experienced, she could clearly feel the hard-on from Callum's body. Oh god, Lexi took a sharp

intake of breath. This shameless man, would he take advantage of her again?

Initially, all Callum wanted was to hush the ever-chattering Lexi, to put a cork in her incessant babble.

But the moment his lips met hers, he realized he was captivated by her allure.

The texture of her lips, the minty freshness between her teeth, and the faint breath escaping from her

fluttering nostrils all drew him in like the intoxicating aroma of a pumpkin spice latte.

He was, indeed, savoring her essence.

Holy smokes, he must have been crazy!
