The Invincible Arthur Gardner

Chapter 77 - The Choice is Yours

Chapter 77 - The Choice is Yours

Cody slammed his fist on the table, veins bulging in his neck and his expression furious. He was so

enraged he wanted to punch Arthur. "You'll be sorry if you go through with this," he spat.

Cody had a backup of The Underworld, knowing full well that the Brown Company's business was

heavily dependent on its network. The influence of The Underworld was so strong that it directly

impacted the development of the Brown Company. As such, Cody was confident he deserved to be

CEO, as only he could ensure the Brown Company would remain on its fast-paced growth track without This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

any obstacles.

Moreover, Cody was sure that Arthur Gardner was not a well-known person nor a part of The

Underworld. He was certain Arthur would not stay at the helm of the company for long, and the Brown

Company would soon fall into ruins.

Cody fixed his gaze on Arthur and declared firmly, "You must have a valid justification if you intend to

terminate me. I'm confident you don't possess any such grounds."

He then shifted his attention to the other executives and implored them, "Inform our new leader of my

importance to the corporation. Explain to him what a valuable asset I am."

Arthur nodded and gazed at the other executives. He allowed them to express their opinions before

revealing all the facts that proved contrary to what they had said.

Arthur had acquired abundant information and thoroughly analyzed the company's business, giving him

the confidence to make it even more successful.

Someone then raised their hand, and, with Arthur's nod, the man stood up.

“Mr. Gardner, allow me to speak,” he said.

“I know you want to make this company even more advanced, but I think this action you take is too

hasty. Do you really understand how much influence Mr. Cody had at this company? We could be in for

disaster if we make the wrong move. I hope you will reconsider your decision. And, forgive me if I seem

impolite, but didn't you used to be a janitor here, Mr. Gardner? I'm sorry, but we need proof that you are

capable of making the right decisions for the future of this company.”

Cody's face lit up with a smile when he heard someone finally express their support for him. Confident

that the majority of the company's executives would likely feel the same way, given that a decision

made by the company would not benefit them.

"Alright, does anyone else have an opinion to share?" Arthur then turned to the others.

"Let me talk, sir," someone else stood up and continued. "I don't believe that this company needs any

changes whatsoever, as I feel that we are doing quite well. This is a sizable company and we are able

to provide very good incomes for both our employees and shareholders. I'm sorry, sir, but I believe that

decisions should be based on data. You cannot make arbitrary decisions because you are a

shareholder in this company. I implore you to allow us to continue running this company in the right

manner. We do not need someone to come in and tell us how to run a company. Thank you."

After waiting patiently for a while and not seeing anyone else offer their opinion, Arthur finally

concluded that it was time to speak his mind.

The large screen in the room suddenly lit up with the data Arthur had gathered and presented, leaving

many in awe of the depth of information Arthur had managed to acquire.

"The colossal apartment complex in this region has been the most unsuccessful venture taken up by

this company. There were countless illegal activities that took place there, and yet it remained in

operation for an extended period of time. Above all, the Brown Company did not experience any gain

from this project, and I am certain that all the money that was going into the company was merely

falling into the hands of a few people," Arthur stated.

Arthur then turned to the executives in the room, who immediately looked away, their sins exposed.

"This is just one example of other projects that experience the same case," he added. "And I'm sure

that if this continues, we will never go anywhere and remain stagnant, unable to improve this company

any better."

Cody, hearing Arthur's explanation, immediately stood up once again. "You can't make arbitrary

decisions, Mr. Gardner," he said. "Do you have any idea what would happen to this company if we

tampered with that project?"

"Sure, I know," Arthur answered casually.

"You have dug your own grave," Cody warned, his voice low yet menacing, "if you persist in taking

such reckless actions. Are you aware of the consequences should you dare to tangle with The

Underworld?"

He paused, giving Arthur a moment to imagine the immense power of The Underworld; Cody knew it

would be enough to cause him to recoil in fear.

At the same time, several employees who had never heard of it or were unclear began to gossip and

debate about it. Some of them knew about The Underworld, a vast organization alleged to be pulling

the strings of government from the shadows. But, for most, it was the first time they had heard any

suggestion that The Underworld had ties to their company.

Arthur smiled at Cody's words. "So, you admit that you really have cheated on this project, Cody?" he

asked.

“I don't feel that what I did was wrong,” Cody replied, his tone condescending.

“We had no other choice but to work with The Underworld. They are the only ones who can provide the

strong support from various parties, including the government, that we need in order to carry out our

projects smoothly. And I'm sure you wouldn't understand that far, would you?” he added.

Arthur then cast his gaze around the room, determination blazing in his eyes.

"Some of you may have heard of The Underworld, while others may not," he said. "But I believe that we

must find the courage to stand on our own and not be overshadowed by them. Otherwise, we will never

be able to pursue our own ambitions and this company will be doomed."

Cody could no longer contain his anger, hearing Arthur continue to spout nonsensical words.

"Therefore," Arthur declared, "anyone who disagrees with my decision and wishes to resign right now

can do so. You may follow Cody, the former CEO of this company, whom I have also fired today."

Cody clenched his fists at Arthur's last words and, without hesitation, he lunged forward ready to punch

him. Arthur, however, calmly stepped out of the way and retaliated with a powerful punch to Cody's

face, sending him flying back against the wall at the far end of the room.

Everyone was stunned by Arthur's strength and Cody lay unconscious in a corner of the room.

"You may choose the gentle path or the rough path, I will serve whatever you choose," Arthur declared

to everyone.

Alicia clicked her tongue in frustration, her anger bubbling up as she saw that Arthur had already

beaten Cody. She wanted to rip the man's mouth apart, and she was ready to throw a tantrum if

anyone dared to belittle Arthur in her presence.

Edna then softly whispered to Alicia. "Hey cutie," she said with a smile, "hold back. Let our boss be the

main performance in the show this time, okay?"

"CK," Alicia sighed in response.
