Chapter 66
Chapter 66
Since they haven’t seen each other for a while, the principal of Creston University made small talk with Ellinor for a while before getting to the point, “Ellinor, your graduation ceremony is next Monday As one of our outstanding graduates, you need to bring your parents to the ceremony. The school hopes that you and your parents could give a speech on stage, sharing your learning experiences”
Ellinor politely declined. Im really sorry, Sir, but I don’t have parents”
*No parents? What are you talking about? Your file says your father and stepmother are both alive!
“Sir ” Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Over the phone, someone seemed to be calling for the principal. The principal responded, then hurriedly said, “Ellinor, remember to bring your parents early on Monday Don’t
be late!”
With that the principal hung up.
Ellinor was a bit annoyed Although she technically had parents, they might as well not exist.
From a young age, Arnold had been hands–off with her. As a father, he never attended her parent– teacher meetings, and her stepmother, Tracy Mendoza, was even less likely to make an appearance for her sake.
But the principal always thought of her as his excellent student, and she didn’t want to let him down.
After some thought, Ellinor decided to try calling Arnold, Dad, are you available next Monday?
Over the phone, Arnold was enjoying breakfast with Tracy and her daughter. “Next Monday? That’s the day your sister is signing a contract with a new company live online Tracy and I need to dress up and support your sister!”
Ellinor was surprised, “Sis is signing with a new company? Seems like her career wasn’t affected by the negative news last time!,
Arnold laughed happily, “Yes! The whole thing was a misunderstanding. The girl in the video was not your sister but an actress who had surgery to look like her. Your sister was maliciously slandered, but thank goodness Auntie Tracy had a way to reveal the truth and clear her name. Moreover, because of the attention the news brought, a big agency is chasing to sign her!”
Ellinor smiled faintly. Tracy really knew how to get things done, whitewashing her daughter, Sheila Mendoza.
Amold asked, “Ellinor, why did you ask if I was available next Monday? What’s up?”
Thinking of the principal’s instructions, Ellinor hesitated, then said, “Monday is my graduation ceremony. The school asked me to bring my parents. So, I wanted to ask if you could
Arnold cut her off before she could finish, “Ellinor, I’ve always been at ease about your studies, so I won’t go to your graduation. Your sister’s signing ceremony is more important, as it has to do with her future career.”
The answer was expected Ellinor laughed sardonically, “Alright, I got it. Bye, Dad.”
Just after hanging up, Sheila sent several messages in a row: “What? You want Dad to attend your graduation?”
“Too bad, I’m the most important daughter in Dad’s heart! What’s the point of your good grades? Dad doesn’t care!”
“Oh, and I have some great news. I’m about to sign with the biggest film and television company in the world. They represent international superstars. I’m not far from being one myself! Dad told me he’s proud of me and even bought me lots of gifts!”
Sheila then sent a picture of several brand–new designer bags.
Ellinor smiled faintly, replying, “Good luck!”
Without the jealous response she hoped for from Ellinor, Sheila’s boasting felt like punching cotton. She sent another message, “Ellinor, no matter how hard you try, you’ll always be an ordinary illegitimate child! Don’t even dream of surpassing me, you’re not worthy!”
Ellinor didn’t care about Sheila’s shallow boasting and arrogance. What she cared more about was how to explain to the principal about the absence of her parents at Monday’s graduation ceremony…
Just then. Theo walked in, opened the wardrobe, and took out a suit jacket.
“Come here”
Hearing his commanding tone, Ellinor frowned, “What for?”
Theo said, “Help me tie this tie!”
Ellinor was speechless
If it weren’t for her previous promise to play the role of his wife, she wouldn’t play along with him!
She got up, walked over, and put a delicate tie around Theo’s neck….
He was too tall, she had to stand on her toes to barely reach, and because of the height difference, her movements looked clumsy and uncomfortable.
