THE LIE: DECEPTION TO THE CEO

The first day of the fourth month of the year, Sabrina woke up, tired, exhausted and feeling damp, when she took off the blanket, she noticed that her legs were wet. She got up slowly, because her big belly did not allow her to move with agility.

She knows that this is not good, because the baby has not yet settled and the umbilical cord is tangled around her neck, according to the last ultrasound. The doctor warned her that it was preferable to plan her cesarean section.

Sabrina went into the bathroom and found Piero taking a shower, and when he saw that she was there, he smiled with her. When he looked at her face and saw her worried, he asked her….

Once he took her out of the shower, Piero called Amber and the doctor, who asked him to take her immediately to the clinic. She would take advantage of the fact that he was there, because she had to attend to another of her patients urgently. He left with her at once.

Amber and Christopher got dressed quickly and when they went downstairs, Piero had already left with Sabrina to the clinic. Before leaving the mansion, she received a message from her mother:

[My water broke, so I started the birthing process. In view of the baby’s sitting position and the umbilical cord entangled in her neck, I prefer not to take any risks and have a cesarean section,” she answered very determined].

[Ok, mother, see you there in a few minutes. I love you, mother, and I give you my blessing, so that everything goes well” expressed her daughter].

-My love! Amber come,” shouted Christopher, riding in the armored van, which they were using lately, as they left with the children.

-My life, Piero didn’t take anything, only Mommy. You know that a lot of things are needed for the moment of the birth, that’s why I have to take the bags with me -she commented smiling.

Wait for me! I’ll go up and get them,” she requested, calm, confident that everything will be fine.

While Amber walked to her mother’s room, close to hers, she remembered the day Sabrina, all embarrassed, ashamed, asked her what she felt and what she suspected. She quickly went to the nearest pharmacy and bought the pregnancy test.

Piero was with them that day, waiting for the result. He broke out in a cold sweat and almost fainted from shock. At the age of fifty-three he would finally be a father. It was a blessing that he could only achieve thanks to Sabrina and he confessed it when he received the news.

Amber went into her mother’s room and searched for everything she had asked for. She also went to her own bedroom to look for the gifts she had saved for the two of them, when this moment arrived. She remembered too, Christopher’s expression when they were told it was a girl.

“I’m still the only one! -He shouted euphorically, “Your only boy, Mommy. Nobody knocks me down in your heart, ha, ha, ha!”, she remembered smiling, as she recalled the smile and the joy on his face, teasing Piero.

Once in the van, they left for the clinic, where Maddie, Daniela and Thiago were already waiting for news. A few minutes ago, they had taken her upstairs to prepare her for the cesarean section. The doctor, upon seeing Amber, asked her:

-Do you want to see her?

-Yes,” Amber replied, walking with her to the ward.

The two were talking when they got a pleasant surprise, they found Piero leaning over Sabrina kissing her very passionately.

-Ahem! Ahem!” said the doctor, making Piero move quickly, smiling with him, knowing he was discovered.

-Amber, my love! What about the children,” asked Sabrina, observing her daughter with the doctor and worried about her grandchildren.

-Marcia is taking care of them,” she replied, with a smile.

-A little scared, although Piero swears to me that he will be brave with me and not like when we told him the news that he was going to be a father,” she said with a smile, looking at her husband.

-I think that’s normal, isn’t it, doctor? -asked Amber, looking at her mother.

-Yes!” she answered, giving Amber five minutes to be with them and then to come out, because soon she will be taken to the ward.

Sabrina cried when she saw her daughter, she was the exact copy of Amber when she was born. She was a very beautiful little girl, white, with pink cheeks. Piero, carried his daughter into the waiting room for everyone to meet her.

He was proud of his daughter, pulling her close to Amber and saying….

-Sabrina, he told me that’s what you were like when you were born. Immensely beautiful, precious, chubby, with these beautiful and precious cheeks, that makes me want to eat her with kisses. However, according to the doctor I shouldn’t do it, for now only the mother will do it.

-It’s the same image of my daughter!” assured Christopher, hugging Amber by the waist, bringing her closer to his body, comparing her with his little girl.

Then, Piero came in with the little girl and handed her to the nurse, who took her to the children’s checkpoint. Christopher was as excited as when his son Christopher was born and his daughter Amber Joana, who was born precisely the year before, by cesarean section.

Piero did not leave Sabrina’s side, except when he took the baby girl so that everyone could meet her. He was by her side helping her, supporting her and taking care of her. That night, he did not want to leave with Christopher, he stayed to take care of her, forcing Amber to accompany her children.

Upon arriving at the mansion, Christopher uncorked a bottle of champagne to toast the birth of his sister-in-law and aunt to his children. The two smiled and celebrated this birth with Genesis, Elian, Maddie, Daniela and Thiago, who accompanied them.

The next day, Sabrina was discharged along with the baby girl. Christopher and Amber accompanied them to the mansion where they will spend their first days. Later, they will move to the Penthouse, given to them by their son-in-law and his daughter.
