Chapter 65 Mrs Carlos Revelation

“After her parents died, her Uncle took Raven in and took care of her like his own.

So she sees him like her father.”

“I don’t understand,” Alfredo said. “Who is her real father?”

“I’m shocked that you didn’t know so much about the woman you like.” she said.

“It’s not that I didn’t want to know,” Alfredo said. “It’s just that she never told me. I never thought to ask.”

“I’m surprised,” Mrs. Carlos said. “You two seem so close. I thought you knew everything about each other.”

Alfredo blushed. “We became close after her father, I mean her uncle was rushed into my hospital and I saw her and fell in love with her.

The way she took care of her uncle was so amazing. She did three minial jobs just to pay his hospital bills.

I wanted to step in, but I noticed that she really wasn’t comfortable with men flaunting their wealth in front of her.

She found it annoying.”

“So you are waiting for her to open up to you?”Mrs. Carlos asked.

“Yes,” Alfredo said. “I knew she was going through a lot, and I didn’t want to add to her stress.

So I just tried to be there for her, without pressuring her. And it worked – eventually, she started to trust me.”

“I’m impressed,” Mrs. Carlos said. “You sound like you really care about her. What do you think your future holds with her?”

Alfredo took a deep breath. “I don’t know,” he said.

“And what if I tell you that everything was all her plan. What would you do?” she said.

Alfredo’s heart sank. He had never considered the possibility that Raven’s feelings for him might not be genuine.

“So she used me to do her bidding?” he asked.

“Well technically yes but no. She knew the risk but she also knew you liked her and would do whatever it takes to save her.

“A knight in shining armor who has no clue about the princess he was going to save.” he said.

He was angry and felt betrayed and deceived, but he still came through for her, because he had grown feelings for the msytery princess and wanted to be with her as well as she wants to be with you.

Alfredo processed what Mrs. Carlos was saying, and he realized that she was right. Raven had played him like a fiddle, and he had fallen for it. He had let his emotions get the better of him, and now he was left feeling foolish and angry.

“So what am I supposed to do now?” he asked Mrs. Carlos. “How can I trust her after this?”

“I think you need to talk to her,” Mrs. Carlos said. “I think you need to hear her side of the story.

“But Mrs. Carlos, how do you know about all this?” Alfredo asked.

“Well, let’s just say, I know a lot of things people don’t know about and so that’s why Ramos needed me.

He knew that he would be able to access the information that I have about a necklace that is worth a fortune.

He wants to get his hand in it and so we must make sure that he never gets his hand in it and the other information.

I think you need to rescue Raven and hear her side of the story and then you can decide if you want to work and be with her or you want to go your separate way and forget all about her.

Because, she has gone through so much and so you have to just hear her out and then you decide if you want to trust her or not. But hear her out.” she said, touching his shoulder.

As she got up and left Alfredo’s room. He sat on the chair deeply lost in thought. He thought about what Mrs. Carlos had said, and he realized that she was right.

Alfredo lay down on his bed and his mind drifted back to the day he first met Raven.

He remembered that day so vividly like it was just yesterday. He remembered how she took care of her father with so much care and how he had been drawn to her kindness and strength.

And now, he wondered if all of that had been a lie. Had she just been using him, playing him for a fool? Or had she genuinely cared about him, and this whole thing had just been a terrible misunderstanding?

Alfredo’s head was spinning with questions, and he didn’t know what to think. All he knew was that he was tired and confused, and he needed some sleep.

He closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind, but all he could see was Raven’s face, looking at him with a mixture of hope and fear.

As Alfredo drifted off to sleep, he had a dream. In the dream, he was standing in a field of flowers, and Raven was standing in front of him. She was wearing a white dress, and her hair was blowing in the wind. She was smiling at him, and he felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over him.

Raven! He shouted as he woke up realizing that it was all a dream and nothing more.
