Chapter 1002
Just as they breached the barrier, it seemed like Master Finnian had barely broken a sweat. But in reality, he had exhausted nearly half of his power. Otherwise, they wouldn't have emerged unscathed. He had overexerted himself to ensure their safety. They couldn't just stand by and watch Master Finnian suffer for nothing.
Donald and Enzo launched into action together, but high martial arts skills proved futile against supernatural powers.
They hadn't even gotten close to Abigail when they saw her smirk, casually waving her hand. Without much effort, an invisible force hit them like a freight train, targeting their very core.
"Ugh!"
Donald and Enzo spat out blood simultaneously.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Abigail was about to strike again when Percival intervened, matching her power with his own. Both were beyond level ten in their abilities, making everyone else feel like they were under a mountain's weight.
Luckily, the area was cleared, and guards outside prevented anyone from interrupting.
Finnian, having regained some strength from the inner energy transferred to him, stopped Vivienne from continuing, sighing, "Lass, I could live without my life, but not without my pride." Vivienne, "..."
Even now, he was worried about pride.
Those closely monitoring Finnian's condition tensed up at his words.
Gary, unable to hold back, burst into tears on Finnian, "Master, you can't die! I've yet to avenge you. If you go, what'll become of us? What about the treasures you've hidden in the back hills..." Finnian's face twitched in annoyance.
Seeing a reaction, the other disciples urged, "Keep going, Gary, it's working!"
Thinking of a surefire tactic, Gary continued, "Master, don't die. We'll leave those treasures be for now. With Vivienne's strength, there's surely a way. Just hold on..."
"Hold on my foot!"
Finnian grabbed Gary's ear, eyes blazing red, "How did you know about the treasures in the back hills? You wolves are all eyeing my stash, aren't you? And here I am, not yet dead, and you're already dividing my belongings..." Finnian almost choked on his words.
Seeing the situation, Jerry quickly intervened, calming Finnian, "Master, calm down, or you'll just hurt yourself again."
Finnian, "..."
If anything happened to him, it would be because of these students.
Vivienne stood up, addressing the group, "Alright, take Master away. Leave the rest to me."
"Vivienne, you alone..."
Dawson was worried but got cut off by Enzo, "Enough, Dawson. If Vivienne says she can handle it, she can. Besides, we'd only get in her way."
Finnian nodded, "Lass, I've cleared the path for you. Make sure to avenge me!"
The others echoed his sentiment.
Vivienne, "..."
She hadn't expected their appearance today.
Once they left, Vivienne called out to Percival, "Mr. Wolf, let's do this."
Percival's eyes were cold and dark, his inner energy at its peak.
Abigail tried to counter but found herself overwhelmed by their strength. She couldn't believe it as she staggered, "How... how is this possible."
Vivienne approached her, "I forgot to mention, the Millennia Aegis was hidden within Mr. Wolf all along."
"You..."
Vivienne cut her off, knowing her thoughts, "You assumed I'd keep the Millennia Aegis on me, hence hesitated to attack. One, fearing you'd harm me, and two, the Aegis. But you miscalculated."
She looked down at her, "With level ten abilities plus the Millennia Aegis, Abigail, what chance did you really have of leaving here alive?"
Abigail sneered, teleporting next to the hospital bed in a defiant move, "What does it matter? The Millennia Aegis will be mine, whether you're alive or dead makes no difference."
Saying so, she grabbed Flynn by the throat, ready to snap it with little effort.
"Hand it over, and I'll spare him."
Vivienne, calm, countered, "Did you really think I'd leave the real Flynn for you to harm?"
Abigail, intrigued, "So the fake doesn't matter. But what about the real one?"
Vivienne frowned, "Delilah Wilson is in your hands!"
Abigail laughed, "She's not who I meant."
Vivienne's expression turned icy as she moved to retrieve Flynn, but was too late. Abigail lifted him from the bed, showcasing her power as she moved them to a window.
"To save them, and your little apprentice, follow me."
Vivienne and Percival exchanged looks before pursuing.
Abigail led them to a secluded area, having laid a trap. When Vivienne and Percival arrived, they found Flynn, Leopold Sterling, and Delilah bound together in the center of a large field, surrounded by mystical symbols. Seeing Vivienne and Percival approaching, Leopold shouted at them, "Vivienne, Percival, help me out here! This wicked witch wants to have me for dinner..."
Percival frowned, "Weren't you supposed to be on a rescue mission? How did you end up tied up here?"
Leopold looked like he was about to cry, "I have no idea, man. Thomas put Cordelia in the front car, and I was following with Cordelia's sister in the back. Out of nowhere, the road just vanished beneath us, and we hit this weird loop, like something out of a haunted tale. No matter how hard I floored it, we just couldn'? break
free..."
Vivienne was silent.
It looked like Abigail had activated some sort of spell. They were trapped.
It wasn't a haunted loop that Leopold's car was stuck in; it was because of the spell that had been activated.
Percival sensed it too, and when he tried to use his special ability, he felt his inner energy being blocked.
He was about to test the powers of the Millennia Aegis when Vivienne held him back.
She shook her head, signaling Mr. Wolf to wait.
That's when Abigail stepped out from the shadows, dressed in a striking red gown, smiling at them "Save your energy. I've already taken control of your special abilities By noon today, you'll be contributing to my eternal youth."
Hearing this, Leopold couldn't hold back and spat out, "Pah, you ancient hag, what century do you think this is, still dreaming about eternal youth? How has all that dark magic not backfired on you yet? Someone should just poison you and be done with it!"
