As soon as I stepped inside the mental hospital, I felt the strength of my heart beating because of the fear, in the three years that have passed I have not even visited him, this is the first time I will step into the mental hospital to visit him I walked down the quiet hallway to go to the exact room number aunt Carmine gave me.

When I came right in front of the door where he was, I saw him just looking at nothingness, I could see it through the small glass of the door, I can’t believe that he was here in this situation. I opened the door but his gaze was still blank.

When I entered, I immediately closed the door and approached him until I was next to him. I sat on the bed he was sitting on before looking at him and speaking.

“P-pards….. how are you?” I asked him weakly, he slowly turned to face me, I saw his eyes full of tiredness and no reaction just looking at me. I know he was the one who hid my son and he planned to kill him then, I found out everything from Eliot and my brother so when I knew he was taken mentally it was because of my anger that I didn’t visit him. But until the end I learned to forgive.

“I-Iris, is that you?” He said and held my face as if he was making sure I was the one in front of him, I nodded just smiling at him, tears fell from his eyes as he let go of my face, I could see the sadness in his eyes, fatigue and homesickness.

“Finally you visited me after three years, I miss you.” He said weakly, I can’t answer because I don’t know what to answer to him.

“Yeah I know, you didn’t miss me.” He suddenly said but I was silent.

“I’m s-sorry for all the things I’ve done, forgive me and all I want you to do is to leave my mind just like how you left me before, because you didn’t know how I’ve struggled to forget you for the years passed.” At the same time as he said that, he’s eyes filled with tears and I couldn’t stop the tears from falling in my eyes because of the pain he was feeling.

“Even, you didn’t ask for my forgiveness before, I already forgive you, Now I’m the one who will ask for your forgiveness, Pards forgive me for all the pain that I’ve caused you, I know even I say a million sorry I can’t erase the pain that has already been written in your heart but please forgive me.” I Weakly said to him as touch his hands.

“I already forgive you Iris, I always forgive you… So please just be happy and erase me in your memories, try to treat me as a stranger when you already go outside in that door.” He said and smiled before removing my hand that was holding his hands.

“Your husband might be waiting for you, you can leave.” He said, and my phone suddenly rang.

“Hon, where are you? Baby jean is looking for you.” Eliot said on the other line.

“I’m on my way home.” I said and hung up before standing up and grabbing my bag.

“I’m leaving.” I said goodbye to him, he smiled and nodded. So I walked out of his room and started walking down the hallway out of the mental hospital. When I got to the parking lot of the mental hospital, I immediately got into my car and drove off. While on the trip, I thought of stopping at a flower shop because of their beautiful flowers.

After I parked the car, I got out and entered the shop’s entrance. When I entered, I was greeted by the fragrant smell of flowers. I walked until my eyes stopped at a very red rose that caught my attention. As I was about to pick it up, I accidentally hit a white flower that was inside the vase so it fell at the same time as it broke, I don’t know but my heart suddenly beat fast at this incident.

“Ma’am! Are you all right?” The owner of this flower shop asked, and I nodded.

“Sorry, it’s my fault, I’ll just pay for what I broke.” I apologize.

“Don’t worry, ma’am, did you stumble upon any of the flowers?” She asked with a smile.

“Ah yeah that one caught my attention.” I said and pointed to the red rose.

“Alright ma’am, I’ll just wrap it and then give it to you.” She said and took the red rose and went to the counter to wrap the flower. I approached the counter and put one thousand there to pay for the flower, she gave me the flower he had wrapped for me.

“Keep the change.” I told her before leaving with the flower and getting back in the car to go home to the mansion. Time passed and I was immediately rated at the mansion. I left the mansion with my bag and the rose I bought earlier and gave the guard the key to my car so that he could park it in our garage. I entered the mansion and I didn’t hear any noise because the only thing I caught was a maid cleaning the living room table.

“Laida where are they?” I asked Laida the maid who cleans the table.

“You have arrived ma’am, they were in the garden earlier with their daddy waiting for you.” She answered so I came to the sofa and put my bag on it and handed Laida the rose I was holding.

“Laida, please put it in the vase, make sure you put water in it so it doesn’t wither.” I smiled at her and she nodded and reached for the rose before I walked towards the garden.

“Dad! please take jean away from me she’s annoying me.” I heard my eldest son Elias Duke say, I saw them sitting while Elias’ face was full of make-up because of his sister Jean. I saw Eliot laughing just watching the two. I came next to Eliot and sat down.

“Did you enjoy watching them?” I suddenly asked him and looked at our two children.

“Wife, your already here.” He said and pulled me closer to him, holding my small waist so I leaned my head on his shoulder.

“Yeah.” I answered him.

“You know what hon? I have nothing to ask for, just looking at them being happy is already fine to me.” I said and looked at the face of my eldest son who was already frowning.

“Wife, I can’t ask for anything more than to be with you and our children.” The last thing he said made me smile.

CLEOPARD POV

As she left, leaving me in this silent room, my tears dropped one by one in my eyes because after how many years she visited me. I can’t ask for anything else but for her to be happy, I lied down on my bed because earlier I prevented not to show her how I struggle with my pain, I’m so tired.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

I looked at the light and smiled holding my chest because I couldn’t breathe anymore. With the last drop of tears in my eyes, my heart also stopped beating.
