Chapter 60 - The bad news

Raphael POV

The attack to the Brits warehouse went exactly as planned. We caught them off guard and we

managed to destroy all of their guns and drugs. I was even able to find the hostages they had taken.

Obviously the leaders weren't there but a lot of their men were and that was a problem. They were way

too many.

They had more soldiers than us. Even though it was us plus the Russians they had more men securing

lost some of my men and that breaks me. I feel for their family. We might be mafia men, we might be

criminals but most of my men have families, wife's, husbands, kids.

”How many?” - I ask Joseph

”we haven't done head count yet” - he says

”where’s Michael?” - I ask him.

”I haven't seen him yet, he's probably taking some hostages so we can interrogate them” - Joseph says

After a while I started to get an weird feeling as Michael wasn't showing up for the head count.

”Find Michael” - I say to one of my men

”sure” - he said and he disappeared.

I grab my phone and start calling him. I can hear his phone ringing so me and Joseph we start walking

towards the sound. And that's when we found him. Putting pressure to his stomach and struggling to

breathe.

”Put pressure” - I say to Joseph while we lay Michael down.

Michael grabs my hand and looks me in the eye.

”hey, you're going to be fine” - I say while Joseph shouts for help.

More man arrive and they start taking care of Michael’s wound but he takes his last breath.

”BRING HIM BACK” - I shout at them

”Boss” - Joseph says putting a hand on my shoulder and making me move away from Michael.

”No” - I say

”Raph, we did everything we could” - Joseph says

”No, no, bring him back” - I say to Joseph looking him in the eyes.

”hey, I know he is important for you and for Olivia, but there's nothing we can do”

”No” - I say - ”This is going to destroy Olivia”

”She is strong, she will be okay” - Joseph says

After a while and after the head count was done we put Tahe bodies into the cars and we move away.

Michael is with me. Olivia is going to want to see him. My heart is breaking for her. Michael didn't have

a family, Olivia was the closest he had as a sister. They became close with the time they spent

together.

I was never jealous of him. Michael knew his place. He knew I love Olivia.

We arrive at the compound and I carry Michael inside in my arms. My clothes covered in blood and I

can hear and see the families of the dead soldiers mourning their loved ones.

Everyone was at the compound. All of their families. All of my soldiers.

I see the bodyguard in charge of Olivia's safety at the end of the corridor and he knows what to do.

I start talking to some of the people around us, apologising for the lost of their lived ones and making

sure they would be taken care of. I was making plans for the funerals with Joseph when I decided it

was time to face Olivia.

I pass my hands through my hair and I walk towards the entertainment room. I open the door and Insee

my beautiful Olivia sitting next to Petra. As Olivia turns around and sees me she this towards me and

open wide her eyes looking at me as if to look for injuries.

“What happened? Is this your blood? Please tell me it’s not your blood” - Olivia says with a desperate

voice.

“Petra, your husband needs you” - I look at Petra and give her a stern look and she leaves towards the

end of the corridor.

“Raphael, what happened? Are you hurt?”

“No” - I tell her now hugging her and taking in her scent. God how I love this coconut smell on her hair.

It really suits her.

“I don’t know what I would do without you” - Olivia says resting her face on my dry bloody chest.

“I am here” - I say placing two fingers on her chin lifting it up so she can look into my eyes.

“Raphael what happened?” - Olivia asks me and all I can do is kiss her. I need her to know that I am

here and I am never going to leave her.

“I need you to stay calm”

“Why? What happened?” - She asks me starting to walk towards the door and I do the only thing I can

think of, I grab her wrist and turn her towards me so she can look at my eyes.

“Olivia” - I say trying to think how I am going to tell her about Michael.

“Raphael, what the fuck is happening?”

“Please stay calm” - I tell her now feeling tears burning my eyes.

Olivia shakes her hand and I lose her grip and I can see her running towards Petra that is standing

alone looking at the floor.

“NO” - Olivia shouts and knees in front of Michael hugging his body towards her own.

I stand behind her and hug her.

”How did this happen?” - she asks

”Who did his?” - She asks looking at me and Joseph waiting for one of us to answer her.

I know this is a shorter chapter and I am sorry but it wouldn't make sense to change to Olivia’s POV

now.
