The True Heiress's Return

Chapter 218

Sean didn't dare to blink, afraid bo'd miss a single trace of that man's true nature. As he watched the car door open, a long, elegantly proportioned arm stretched out from the Cullinan, revealing a sliver of a suit cuff. Sean held his breath, but just then, an old man selling balloons suddenly popped up in front of the car, his balloons blocking Sean's view completely. He couldn't even catch a glimpse of his target's hair. "Damn it!" His heart was practically in his throat-only to see

Fuming. Sean jolted up, only to bump his head on the car roof with a loud "ouch"

Clutching his head, he quickly got out of the car. He only saw the back of Shakira's head as she disappeared into the crowd lining up for the Ferris wheel, vanishing completely from sight.

The balloon vendor, catching the glare Sean shot him, bolted away with his balloons in tow. Sean, frustrated beyond measure, slammed the car roof twice to vent his anger. So close He was just one step away!

"No way, I came this far, I can't give up now! Sean grabbed a mask from the car and strode into the amusement park. It was the weekend night, and the park was crowded with couples and kids; in no time, he lost sight of Shakira. But he was sure that they had just been heading toward the Ferris wheel, and beyond that, there was nowhere else to go.

Just as he was stressing out, a staff member began enthusiastically announcing. "Attention, all guests! Tonight, the Ferris wheel is exclusively for couples! It's only open to couples! This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

"We also have a special effects camera at the top to capture your memorable moments together, The photos will be posted on the photo wall at the Ferris wheel exit, and you're welcome to sign and leave your mark!" Photos! Sean's eyes lit up as he watched the transparent cabins rise into the sky, his idea growing more certain. He took out his phone and called Xanthe, "Get ready, we've got something brewing. Hurry up and get here." Xanthe was confused. "What?!"

After hanging up the phone, Sean didn't sit idly by. He snapped photo of the Cullinan's license plate and sent a message: [Find out who owns this car!]

The couple in line saw Walter in his wheelchair and kindly offered to let them go ahead. The staff even adjusted the Ferris wheel speed to allow the wheelchair to safely enter the cabin.

Walter frowned deeply, and every time he tried to refuse their kindness, Shakira quickly covered his mouth. She thanked the kind tourists with a smile. Thank you!"

As the cabin door closed and the Ferris Wheel started to turn slowly again, Shakira finally let go of her hand. Walter glared at her, his gaze cold enough to freeze. Shakira grinned even more. Why so angry? They were just belping you." Walter snorted, "I don't need that."

"Yes, with your status, Mr. Lopez, of course, you don't need it," Shakira said casually. "You can ask Brian to negotiate with the amusement park, use your status, and make them give you special treatment.

"Then the couples waiting in line, and the staff in the know, would have no choice but to accept your command, likely feeling displeasure and resentment.

"But now, they sincerely want to help you out of their own awareness and kindness. They're willing to fielp and even feel good about it. Since the result is the same, why not choose the option that makes everyone happy? Thu, Nov/

Walter furrowed and was silent for a while. After a pause, he gazed deeply at Shakira and said slowly. "You're right"

The hardest hurdle for him was his own prejudice against himself regarding his disability. Walter knew she was helping him let go of those biases.

Shakira's gaze shifted, without saying any more sentimental words. Her eyes moved to the window. "Look, it's beautiful down there."

Walter followed her gaze. The Ferris wheel turned slowly, and the night view of the amusement park gradually expanded into view. The rides, adorned with colorful lights, shimmered from above, creating a stunning and mesmerizing beauty. It was the first time Shakira had seen such a sight. Watching from a high point in the city offered a completely different visual experience. Walter noticed her fascination and his lips curled into a smile. "Do you like it?" he asked. "Yeah, yeah!" Shakira exclaimed, unable to resist snapping several photos with her phone. She eagerly showed them to Walter. Look, how did I do?"

Walter glanced at them; the composition and colors were good, but there was still room for improvement. "Just okay," he said casually.

Shakira's eyes widened in disbelief. They look so great, and you say they're just okay?!" Though she didn't take photos often, her shots were always praised. Saying it was just okay was an underestimation of her skills! Unconvinced, she pulled Walter to the window, and said, "Here, you take some. Let's see how the one who said my shots were just okay does!"

Walter didn't refuse, taking out his phone and turning on the camera. Shakira leaned in, determined to keep a close eye him and see how he captured the shot.

Unexpectedly, Walter gestured for her to lean against the window. "Look outside," he instructed. Shakira didn't get his intention, assuming he was just being secretive. She gave a heavy huff and said, "How stingy!"

Then Shakira turned her head away, fine, no peeking! Walter chuckled, raising his phone and taking several quick shots of her side profile.

Looking at the pictures filled Walter with joy, no adjustments were needed. In a low voice, he said, "Done" Shakira was still sulking, huffing, and rolling her eyes as she reluctantly took his phone to look at his work.

When she saw that each photo focused solely on her face, her cheeks flushed as she finally understood his intention. "Look at you, saying my photos are okay while yours are out of focus."

A smile played on Walter's lips, and his gaze was filled with deep affection, "You missed the most beautiful view, but I captured it." Shakira shot him a playful glare, her eyes brimming with sweetness.

About ten minutes later, as the Ferris wheel climbed to its highest point and slowly descended, Shakira seized the moment and pulled up a couple's quiz game on her phone, pretending to ask if he'd play out of boredom. Seeing her excitement, Walter raised an eyebrow, "Go ahead and ask"

With a wide smile, Shakira askod, "What's your favorite color?"

"Black, white, blue, and gray," Walter answered.

'No wonder his closet is full of those colors,' Shakira thought.

Shakira continued, "Do you prefer tasty food or beautiful scenery?"

"Neither," Shakira replied.

"Picking a birthday gift just gets even trickier, Shakira thought.

"What's your favorite animal?" Shakira asked again.

"Otto," Walter replied.

Shakira thought, Otto is lucky to have you.

Then she continued. "What have I done that makes you happies or leaves the deepest impression?"

Walter hesitated for a moment, prompting Shakira to look up from her phone, "Is it that hard to answer?"

After what seemed like serious consideration, Walter replied, "We haven't been together long, and there are many things yet to be done. It's hard to say what's happiest."

Shakira blinked. "Not thinking of the future, but just as of now?"

"Right now..." Walter looked deeply into her eyes, his dark gaze full of unspoken Intimacy. "Are you sure you want me to say

it?"

Facing his gaze, Shakira was suddenly reminded of their first meeting, her cheeks turning red as she hastily cut him off. "Alright, no need to say it! Next question!"

Shakira found herself mesmerized, unable to look away until he teased her for staring, causing her to huff and turn back to the window.

But she couldn't help but wonder, 'After all this time, when will I finally be able to resist the charm of Walter?

'Especially since he'd recently taken to smiling at me so often-who can resist that?
