The Unloved Billionaires And I

Chapter 46 EPILOGUE

“Mummy, can we go play with Hero now?” Zoey, my two-year-old baby boy asked. I managed to look away from the omellete I was stirring and briefly glanced at him.

“Okay, Zoey, make sure you don’t leave the yards, okay?”

“Yes, mummy.” He blasted as he took off.

“And keep Hero in check.”

“Okay…”

“Isla, go look after your brother and Hero.”

“Mom, I’m busy.”

I sighed. I have to finish dinner before Liam returned and Irene is coming over today. I can’t help but feel like everything has to be perfect. I have been at this since morning, making assortment of dishes to leave her with several choices. And my back ached. Pregnancy hormones.

“Isa…”

“Fine..” He grumbled, strutting out and going after his siblings. I have to make sure my second baby Zoey is checked-up on because trust me, she will run off with Hero, our little collier not recollecting her promise. She is like that.

By exactly 2 pm, I was done with the dishes and went out of the yard to bring them in. I found them by the poolside, drenched. As expected.

“Isa, bring your siblings in to shower. The weather is getting chilled.”

“Yes, mom.” He was still inside the pool..

Okay, I think I will take Liam’s offer to hire a nanny because these kids are driving me crazy!

“Baby?” I whipped around. Talk about saving grace.

“Baby!” I cried. I have never felt so relieved.

“Are they at it again?” He asked, looking towards the pool where Hero and Zoey were making their way out to run to him.

“I think I agree with you to hire a nanny, baby. I can’t do this anymore.”

“Dad, welcome,” Isa dashed past him.

“Be careful.” He called after him.

I shook my head as we made our way in. Liam was such a wonderful father just as I had imagined. After we got married in St James, where my mother and brother and a few family members were present-except my father who was presently rotting in prison-we moved to San Francisco where Liam got a job in a top advertising agency. I had to quit mine and became a social media influencer for an internationally renowned firm for cosmetics.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Our life has been great. It might have some hiccups here and there, but Liam has been supportive.

Irene stayed back and recently, she told me she met a man. Like a keeper. And she is bringing him over today!

I am in my third pregnancy and right now everything taste like crap to me. Which is where my beloved husband comes handy. “Liam, can you check out the dishes? I don’t know if I did justice to them and Isa has been so busy with assignments she hardly helped me out.”

“That’s a lie, Dad!” She screamed from her room. He is such a big boy now, and is becoming too tough to control. I hate to say this, but I can’t wait for him to leave for high school with his aunt, Irene in Chicago.

He said he liked it there. With her.

“It’s perfect, baby. Everything,” Liam replied, chugging down the meals. I smiled and went to kiss him.

“Hurry up and rest and then get ready and come down. Your sister is bringing home a beau!”

He nodded cynically and made his way out. I know that attitude but I won’t address it now.

A few hours later, I looked through the foyer window and saw a black BMW pull over and the kids went on an uptoar, each competing with who to reach outside first.

“Stop, be careful!” I screamed, lucky that Liam came out then and went to hold Zoey down from hitting her face on the floor.

Irene busted in. “Look at my little coco!” She grabbed Zoey and twirled her in the air.

“Aunt Irene!” She clapped her hands cheerfully. They will die for her. Sometimes I feel jealous.

“I miss you, baby.” She kissed and tackled her. Hero was jumping about, waiting for his turn which came sooner

“Look at this pregnant lady,” she faced me. “Do you do it like all the time?” My cheeks turn beetroot.

“Irene, that’s not fair,” I whined. “It’s Liam.”

“I know, but you look sweet, honey. Come here.” She crushed me in a big hug. I ground against her. I miss her so much. The distance hasn’t been fair at all.

“Liam, if you keep wearing out my best friend, j might have no choice but to take her away from you.”

Liam made a protesting sound and flipped her the bird. “You can try.”

“Asshole.”

“C’mon, guys,” I sighed, looking behind her at the handsome dude who was watching the exchange with a rather keen interest. “Behave. We have company.”

As though just recalling, Irene retained herself and shifted back. “Everyone, meet Jason. Jason, meet my brother and my best friend. And of course the entire Liam crew.” She waved her hands at the kids who jumped about, already directing the gifts they took from the car.

I looked at the man. “Come in, Jason. You are welcome. Don’t mind the kids, they are not always like this.”

“It’s okay… they’re actually very cute.” I like him.

We are in quiet. Well, mostly the adults. We talked about several things and by the time we were done, I was happy to drag Irene outside.

“I like him!” I told her straight up.

“I know… I do too. He is so cool and guess what?”

“What?”

“He asked me to marry him.”

“No way!” I squealed, grabbed and hugged her. “Babe, that’s so sweet. Tell me you accepted.”

“I did.” She wagged her hands in front of me and that was when I noticed the big big cravat nestled on her ring finger. Tears shimmered in my eyes.

“Irene, this is the best thing I’ve heard in a long time.” I was holding the hand, looking intently at it. “You must really love him.”

“I do, Silv. I really do.”

I looked up rapidly. “Then, we have a wedding to plan!”

“Most definitely.”

This is my story but then, it wouldn’t have been complete without these people. I might not have a perfect life, but I know where I am today, I am close to my happy ending and everyone who had stood as an obstacle to my happiness, are where they belong.
