Chapter 14 I wish you were my brother-in-law

While Yandel was driving them home rachel got lost in thoughts as she stared outside the window

thinking of everything that had happened within the past two hours, she looked sideways to yandel and

he was just focused on the road, he turned to look at her too and gave her a reassuring smile as if

reading her mind for her need for affirmation he gently squeezed her hands on her laps that were

fidgeting a little and she let him as she turned to the window.

While Ace went missing, she and Yandel had splitted ways, and she had called the police station

straight away, reporting a missing child and described Ace as a brunette boy above 3'9 with green

eyes. She was hysterical that time. She felt like the whole world.is closing down on her.

"Ma'am you need to calm down if you want us to really hear you" the police replied, Trying to calm

her down.

"I said, he is above 3'9 with light brown hair and green eyes, he was wearing his favorite spider

black shirt and he had a bob the builder cap on too" Rachel repeated loud and profusely as she tried to

gather her breathe.

"And where did he get missing?" The policeman asked.

"At Pivot street open cinema" Rachel said hastily losing her patience, she knew every second and

minute wasted was going to be put Ace in more and more danger and that made her heart drop.

"What time did…."

"Look officer!!!.... just get your asses to the God damn cinema, every second wasted right now is

putting my brother in more danger so no more questioning. Because if anything happened to my

brother while you are here, playing an interviewer. You will have to answer to the Gracia’s” Rachel cuts

them off furiously as she couldn't take the ticking of the clock of the opposite tile walled library which

was now just L brar .

She stood outside the cinema hoping to see the police anytime soon, she had spent the last 30

minutes searching every viewing room and interviewing every worker and passer by all to no avail.

What was she gonna tell his mom and Dad? that she wasn't adult enough to watch over their precious

son and the male heir? she started shedding tears at the steps of the cinema, people kept giving her

worried looks but no one cared enough to ask her why she was crying.She took her phone out to play

some positive songs that won't lead her into over thinking so she decided to play her favorite band…

She kept the whole album on repeat because it calmed her down and gave her sanity.15minutes

late, the police arrived with the search team to look for Ace and sprang to her feets ready to join them

but she was asked to stay back the cinema incase he came back, seeing the logic in what they said

she decided to stay back in hopes that they will find him and bring him back to her before it gets too

late, she wasn't gonna go home without that boy, she knew that for sure.

An hour and some minutes later, the police didn't came back with Ace and her heart broke, she

couldn't bear to stand,nshe fell onto her knees while crying…

Anything could have happened, he could be taken for adoption or kidnapped, she couldn't stop

herself from thinking the worst. The police assured her that they would still keep searching and

collected her house resident address for further update, they reassured her that they were going to

submit Ace description to the rest of the interpols staying close to that vicinity.

While driving back to the Garcia estate, Yandel thought about everything that had aspired…

"Hey Celi calm down alright, panicking and saying gibberish won't look for him," Yande said, taking

control of the matter.

"Look, you stay at the cinema, ask every staff member and passerby about Ace .Give them the

description of Ace and also check their toilets, he could be using the toilet, ” Yandel.said authoritatively

while Rachel just nodded, as she couldn't even bring herself to thinks about anything except finishing

her brother.

"Alright,I will take my car and go search for him, Okay"...

He has been going around the streets back to back in search of Ace to no avail, but he didn't give

up, he couldn't give up, this was Celi’s kid bro we were talking about he wasn't going to be able to

survive it if anything bad that happens, he's just a kid.

On the last block, he decided to move slowing before going back to Araceli and joining the police

search team to look for Ace, when he heard tiny sniffs just close to a lamp post, seeing the “bob the

builder” cap gave him so much joy because he knew he had found

Ace.

Yandel couldn't stop himself from rushing to him looking for any injury or wounds or bleeding,he

found none.

"Hey Littlle man, are you okay??...Did anybody hurt you??.... Where did you go?" Yandel asked

gently while putting his hands around him, he stiffened a little at the contact before he looked up to

Yandel and let him hold him.

"I went to the security and asked him if there were any lego cart shop behind and he said there

was one on the next street, I went there to check if they were around but then I go lost and I was so

scared I thought you wouldn't find me and nobody wanted to help me And it was getting dark and I…."

Ace explained as he broke down and started crying again, holding onto yandel tightly, he smelt like his

dad and that helped him calm down.

"pro..*sniffs*...promise you wouldn't leave me alone?" Ace asked, looking up at Yandel.

Yandel hesitated for a minute, looking at the poor kid who looked so broken and lost, his eyes

were already a little swollen and beet red from crying, so he promised him...

"I promise Acey,I won't leave you alone, Okay little man," Yandel swore, holding him tighter as he

consoles the little boy.

The air was too sad for him, so he decided to stare up a conversation that would distract him, so

he remembered when Araceli said he had been looking forward to watching the lego movie.

"So...how was the movie"

*hiccups*

"it was goood, Batman is sooo cool, but he is also lonely, he needs to find a wife or husband.” Ace

answered as his eyes twinkled, totally forgetting that he was lost some minutes ago.

"Not like Xander though, he's not a nice man,I don't like him," he added with a little frown.

Yandel Ignored that part because he didn't know who Xander was.

"So spiderman is your favorite superhero right?" Yandel asked, he asked the little boy who was

now grinning from ear to ear.

"Yesss" Ace said excitedly.

"He is so cool and he is handsome and his girlfriend is sooo pretty, just like you and my big sister,"

he said with his eyes lighting up after making the statement.

"But me and your big sister are not dating though," Yandel said, feeling a little disappointed now

that he thought of it.

"I know, it's because she is getting married to that lame dude called Xander," Ace replied clearly

showing his dislike for the Xander dude.

Yandel frowned as he listened to Ace’s statement. So Araceli was getting married after all. He

thought he had a chance with her to create a wonderful friendship but guessed that ship had sailed

away while they were long rivals. He caused the petty rivalry to hinder him from knowing Araceli earlier,

maybe he would have had a chance.

“Well it's getting late, let's head back home. I'm such Araceli is worried sick about you leaving like

that, and she is also with the police too” Yandel said to Ace.

As they headed back to the black Audi car while Yandel opened the front door for Ace, he felt bad

for the way he made Araceli worry so much. he didn't intend to do that.

They headed back to the cinema where Araceli was waiting outside looking drained.

Immediately Rachel saw Yandel coming outside his car with a little boy. She rushed to the little

bundle of joy that had made her so worried.

"OMG!! Ace are you ok??...Are you hurt??....why were you crying????...OMG did someone hurt

you???" Rachel cried in full panic thinking of the worse things.

"Ara I'm *hiccups* fine, I just got *hiccups* lost looking for the lego cart shop they kept saying it

was at the corner but they were closed and i couldn't find my way back" Ace explained again through

sniffs and hiccups.

"I will drive you guys home," Yandel offered.

"Alright, thanks Baldwin,” Araceli said with a small smile exhausted from crying and searching for

Ace, she didn't even bother to put up a fight or sarcastic remark.

While placing Ace in the back seat and Araceli in the passenger sit, Ace murmured audibly.
