Chapter 37 No longer besties

"Are you seriously taking his side right now?,"

"I mean tell me, Is the dick that good?" Rachel deadpanned as anger and hate started to creep

over her entire being like tendrils from a pumpkin fruit, she could get that Alice was heartless and an

excuse for humanity but right now, she couldn't deal anymore, she had reached the peak for her

tolerance to bull crap for a day.

"What the hell Araceli!!!" Alice yelled over the phone, while inside her heart was going out of it's

regular beat, she definitely was sure now if she wasn't surebefore that Araceli was unto both of them, I

mean anyone who has much gut to spew such acclaims has definitely taken their time to dig up dirty on

her.

"You know what, I can't talk to you when you are like this," Alice said.

"When I'm like what??"

"Saying the truth?" Rachel replied.

"Goodnight Araceli," Alice said, ending the call, she definitely needed a new plan, something that

will eliminate Araceli quick, before all of this blew up in her face.

"Yeah, I…" Rachel started but got cut off. "Bitch," Rachel said under her breathe.

She brushed her teeth and took off her pj pants, she had to re strategize, from her conversation

with Alice now, she could see that she had the upper hand even though things were just starting to get

interesting, she didn't want it to end so soon, she wanted to fuck with her mind and make them feel so

much at her mercy they will be begging her to end it all, with this a little smile graced her face as she

slowly slipped into a deep sleep she has been anticipating all day.

Meanwhile at Alice's house…

Xander navigated through the dark streets without headlights as he approached her house, She

refused to tell him the reason for the compulsory meeting she just pulled out on him, but he was sure

as hell that it wasn't sex but her voice cold as hell, so he guessed it was about the deal he told her

earlier in the evening.

He stopped right in front of her home which was a fancy small glass bungalow Apartment with

huge see through windows her had gifted her for her twenty three birthday, after which he took her to

Maldives for a vacation treat, His walk down memory lane was interrupted by the very annoying

notification he always said he was going to change into something less annoying, his mood brightened

a bit before falling to shits again seeing it was a text from Alice.

Alice

I see your car in front, get your ass in here now.

He got down from the car, and the cold of the night egulfed him totally even though he wore his fav

grey hoodie, shivering a little, he started walking down the path leading to her door, the grass were kept

short and leveled, before reaching the door, the lights came on blinding him for a for some seconds,

gaining his sight back the first thing he saw was a very angry looking Alice with black bath robe that

hugged her figure, but her stance took away every single dirty thoughts he was having seeing as she

kept a stoic expression as he got closer and crossed her hands over her chest push out her boobs.

"Babe?," Xander said starring at the woman in front of him. She had no make up on revealing

black eye bags which made his heart writhe with guilt as he thought what he said to her earlier was

affecting her badly.

"Babe?," Xander said again but she didn't reply, her expression was unreadable as she kept

starring into somewhere between his head and his surrounding.

"Babe??!," Xander said, shaking her out of her deep thoughts, she just looked at him with a neutral

expression before turning her back into the house.

"Shut the door," Alice said with a low voice, she sounded exhausted and it was really starting to

worry him, the spacing out, and the eye bags. He gently closed the door as he followed her into her

living room.

"Are you okay babe?" Xander asked starring at her twirling the wine in her hands continuously.

"Do I look okay Xander?" Alice replied with a question of her own, looking at him like he just asked

the most stupid question ever.

"Sorry,"

"Look, if it's about what I said this evening, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, I was just desperate

and…" Xander kept rambling off before he got interrupted by Alice.

"I don't give a fuck about what you said in the evening Xander, That's not why I asked you to come

over," Alice said waving him off.

"So why did you ask me to come over then?," Xander asked moving close and put a hand on her

upper thighs which she slapped away with haste as if his hands were flames.

"What on earth do you think you are doing?," Alice spat looking at him in utter disgust.

"Sorry...I..I...thought, you know.." Xander stuttered feeling ashamed, of course it's not sex, he felt stupid

that even in her moment of distress, that was the move he made.

"I guess I read the wrong signals," Xander said moving back to the other side of tge couch looking

down at his hands which were a little scaly from cold.

"Jesus Xander," Alice said utterly dissapointed in the move he tried to make.

"Look I think Araceli is catching up on us, she isn't exactly saying she knows about us, but she has

been really persistent on dropping hints," Alice said worried.

"What exactly did she say?," Xander asked.

She opened her phone and played the recording of the call they just had an hour ago. Just as she

was caught off guard, it also caught Xander off guard leaving his eyes wide open like that of a night

owl.

"That was incredibly specific," Xander said slowly Recovering from the shock of the conversation

he just heard, the sneer in her voice and the sarcasm were all present in her voice, everyday he felt

ever since her suicidal attempt she came back meaner, stronger and less readable.

"So what do you think we should do?," Alice asked starting to get desperate.

"Well you started all of this, I have just been playing my part really well," Xander replied her raising

his hands up.

"Are fucking kidding me!!!"

"I thought we were in this together?!!!" Alice yelled standing up seething. How dare he throw her

under the bus like that, they both had hands in this and they were both the reason Araceli tried to kill

herself and now he is pulling out like a fucking pussy.

"Jeez!!"

"Chill babe, that's not what i meant," Xander said standing up to face the very angry Alice.

"Then what the fuck did you mean Xander because it just looked like you threw me under the

fucking bus!!" Alice exclaimed.

"You gonna make your veins pop, better chill the fuck out girl," Xander said walking pass her. "We

are not done here," Alice said dragging his hands back.

"Can you just let me get some beer and space from your screaming session," Xander said pulling

his hands out of her grasp.

He headed into the kitchen for beer but ended up finding just fruit juice and soda in the fridge,

cursing internally, he took the grape soda and sat on the kitchen island starring at Alice who was

spacing around and occasionally throwing him dirty looks.

He came down from the island table and head to the frame leading out of the kitchen.

"Look, I think we should just keep low key appearance, and you should try to be more bestie bestie

with her," Xander suggested.

"We are no longer best friends, it will be weird if all of the sudden I just start becoming friendly with

her," Alice said.

"Well that's all i can think of alright, I'm really sleepy can I go?," Xander asked.

"Isn't it too late or something,"

"You can stay here for the night," Alice said smiling.

"As nice as that sounds Babe, I need to be home, I don't know Araceli plans on using that video

against me, and I got work and my brother is coming into the states, just alot on my plate right now

sorry," Xander said walking up to her and giving her a forehead kiss.

"Goodnight love," Xander said, walking to the door before stopping and turning around to face

Alice.

"What?!!!" Alice asked.

"No I love you??," Xander said doing a very repulsing version of a puppy dog eye. "First off, don't

ever do that eye thing again,"

"I LOVE YOU!"

"Goodnight, now go home and text me when you arrive safely alright?,"

"Okay," Xander said smiling as he closed the door behind him, taking a deep breathe, he headed

back home.

"Tomorrow is gonna be one long ass day,"....
