I can’t judge myself
For a moment, they fell silent, gazing at each other. Sean now looked at Letta with a blank expression, while Letta looked at Sean with a questioning look.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Thank you for liking me,” Letta said, finally able to utter only that sentence. After that, Letta fell silent again, blinking her eyes.
“Well, at first, I said I was suspicious of you, but throughout the day, I really couldn’t take my eyes off you. Is that really what they call a liking?” Sean asked again, making Letta shake her head.
“I don’t know,” Letta answered.
“Have you ever liked someone before or felt something like what I’m feeling right now?” Sean asked, making Letta fall silent. What immediately came to her mind was how when she had such deep love for Abian. Making Letta smile as she walked, followed by Sean.
“Yes, I have felt a liking, maybe love. I never wanted to take my eyes off him when we were together, and I always missed him and wanted to meet him when we were apart. I was always nervous waiting for his messages. And I also felt something tickling in my stomach when waiting for him to come. I think that’s what you call the liking you mean. If you’re experiencing that, maybe you do like me,” Letta said, smiling, making Sean nod his head.
“I can’t take my eyes off you. Yes, I’m experiencing it. I miss you. I don’t know, I haven’t felt it right now, maybe because you’re still around me. And I feel nervous when I’m about to meet you. Yes, a little, my heart races fast when I see you suddenly,” Sean said again, leaving Letta speechless.
Was the man beside her really liking her? After all, they had only met a few days ago, and on their first meeting, Letta knew very well that Sean didn’t like her. He was more like suspicious of her, and now suddenly he was expressing his feelings, saying he liked her, making Letta, of course, not easily believe. Was Sean the type of guy who was easy to change his feelings, Letta wondered.
“Maybe it’s just a liking because you’ve been seeing me these past few days,” Letta replied, making Sean shrug.
“I don’t know, I just expressed it. I’ll tell you if I really miss you, get nervous when I see you, or maybe want to do something for you,” Sean said again, making Letta awkwardly smile. It turned out Sean was really the type of guy who directly expressed what he felt, Letta thought, feeling awkward at the moment. Letta chose to scratch her non-itchy neck, then chose to look in another direction. Until finally, Letta looked back at Sean.
“Have you never felt something bigger than your current liking towards someone of the same gender, maybe towards your female friend?” Letta asked, making Sean shake his head.
“I don’t know, maybe I did in high school. I liked one of my teachers,” Sean said, which made Letta widen her eyes again.
“What? You liked your own teacher?” Letta asked, making Sean nod his head.
“Yes, I have felt this way when I saw my teacher. Don’t worry, she wasn’t significantly older, just a few years apart from me. She was also young and looked beautiful,” Sean said, making Letta really want to burst into laughter right then.
“What about your feelings for that teacher?” Letta asked again.
“Similar to what I feel for you now. I was happy to see her, my heart raced when I saw her. But unfortunately, a month after I felt that way, she got married to her fiance, so I chose not to think about it anymore,” Sean said, making Letta nod in understanding.
“How did you deal with those feelings? Didn’t that maybe break your heart?” Letta asked again.
“Yes, at first, I felt like something was missing, what I felt. But afterwards, it’s okay, I’m fine. I returned to my normal self,” Sean said, making Letta nod her head.
“Have you never dated before?” Letta asked again, making Sean shake his head, and that made Letta look at him with disbelief. After all, Sean was the ideal man who might be liked by many women. He was tall, handsome, and also kind. Even though he had the appearance of a cold, untouched man, wasn’t that the type that women were into lately, Letta thought, still looking at Sean with an unbelieving gaze, making Sean immediately look at her with raised eyebrows.
“Why don’t you believe it?” Sean asked again, making Letta nod her head.
“It seems like you have the opposite in mind of what I’m thinking. Maybe you have two or three female friends who are close to you, perhaps?” Letta asked, making Sean shake his head while smiling wryly.
“No, I’m not that close to women. I mean, I don’t have any close friends who are really close, and I don’t intend to have close female friends who only look at my face or my wallet,” Sean said, making Letta nod her head. It turned out Sean was also the type of man who really chose a partner very carefully. He wasn’t interested in perhaps pretty women, or women who openly flirted with him, Letta thought.
“Didn’t our early relationship not really know how a woman’s attitude is? You couldn’t possibly not choose a woman who immediately knows. She’s the type of woman who only looks at your appearance and wallet?” Letta asked again, making Sean nod his head.
“I don’t know, but I have a strong instinct if a woman is only looking at my face or my wallet,” Sean answered, making Letta truly unable to read Sean. He was the type of man far from her expectations.
“And you yourself, I see you as a good woman. You’re also the type of woman who might accept a man as he is, and you’re a simple woman who compromises a lot,” Sean said, making Letta fall silent for a moment.
“I don’t know, I can’t judge myself,” Letta replied.
“Well then, what if we get married? You can continue to stay in our house. Besides, you’re already close to my mother, and you can continue your life in this city. I promise I will make you happy,” Sean said again, with his words that could really give Letta a heart attack. But in the following seconds, Letta burst into laughter while holding her stomach, continuing to laugh, making Sean stop in his tracks, looking at Letta in bewilderment.
“Is there something funny about what I said?” Sean asked again, making Letta nod her head, still with her laughter.
“You’re truly an unpredictable man,” Letta said with a lingering laughter.
“You’re the type of man who directly expresses what you want to do?” Letta said again, making Sean just nod, still gazing at Letta, who hadn’t stopped laughing.
