tell me everything
Mia looked at Letta with a furrowed brow, with a suitcase by her side. She let out a long sigh, then welcomed her friend into her apartment. Mia invited Letta to sit down and offered her some warm tea, considering the extremely cold weather outside.
“Why did you go out with such thin clothing? Why didn’t you wear a jacket or anything to keep yourself warm?” Mia said as she draped a blanket over Letta, making Letta smile while sipping the warm tea. Her friend was truly the most understanding friend Letta had.
“I didn’t really have time to pay attention to what I was wearing right now. Even when packing my things, I was in a hurry because I didn’t want to listen to Aunt’s nagging and Mit’s complaints for too long,” Letta said as she placed the teacup down, making Mia look at her with a raised eyebrow. It seemed Letta knew what her friend was expecting.
“I will tell you, but may I go to the bathroom first?” Letta asked again, making Mia let out a long sigh before nodding. Letta smiled and stood up from her seat, rushing towards the bathroom.
Letta then splashed her face a little, looking at the large mirror in front of her. Today was very exhausting. After going to the hospital and suddenly having to face Marco, half of her energy was drained. Especially since her conversation with Marco didn’t go well. This time she had to face Mia, who was a bit critical of whatever happened to her. Hiding such a big thing from her would surely make Mia not much better to deal with than facing Marco earlier. Letta let out a long breath before drying her face and walking back to meet Mia.
“So, are you ready to tell me everything?” Mia asked, making Letta grimace slightly while smiling.
“I don’t know, I’m confused about where to start,” Letta said, making Mia sigh in frustration.
“Start with why you packed your things?” Mia finally said, making Letta let out a long sigh.
“You know, I should have done this. I should have left that house a long time ago,” Letta said, making Mia sigh deeply.
“Didn’t I say long ago that those two snake-like women wouldn’t let you live in peace until you left that house, but you were stubborn,” Mia said, almost mocking Letta’s current misery.
“Yes, you’re right. And today was the limit of my patience with them, it seems they were also pleased to have driven me out of that house,” Letta said, exhaling deeply, as if she was truly done with a burden in her life that felt heavy in that house.
“Well, that’s good. You can start and rebuild your life from scratch without having to think about them. After all, they don’t consider you family. So, you don’t need to acknowledge their existence either. Just consider that you don’t have a family like them in this world,” Mia said, making Letta nod her head.
Moreover, it was true that there was no one at the moment who could be relied upon as family by Letta. Letta was very grateful that Mia was still by her side, aside from Abian. And thinking about Abian once again, Letta let out a long sigh, as if tired of dealing with everything that had happened to her lately. Yet, Letta hadn’t truly faced an Abian and told him everything about her situation.
“Yeah, I’ll do it, and it seems I’ll be bothering you a bit for these next few days before I find an apartment to live in,” Letta said, making Mia sigh in annoyance.
“Why do you speak as if I’m the same as them? You can stay here as much as you want, I won’t disturb you,” Mia said, making Letta already anticipate her friend’s response. Even if Letta insisted on staying with her for the rest of her life, Mia wouldn’t mind. However, of course, Letta couldn’t do that, as Mia had her own private life. She couldn’t keep burdening her.
“Yes, I won’t answer that,” Letta said. She fell silent for a moment, until Mia asked Letta again.
“Has Abian known about your move?” Mia asked, making Letta shake her head.
“In these past few days, it’s been difficult to reach Abian. It seems his phone isn’t getting any signal again,” Letta replied, letting out a long sigh. Mia just sighed in annoyance.
“Can’t he stay away from wild animals and deep forests? He could become a photographer, capturing beautiful models, for instance,” Mia said, not understanding Abian’s preferred line of work. For some reason, Mia felt that Abian was more interested in fierce lions than the models that make men drool.
“But, I think I would prefer Bian to photograph a lion rather than a model,” Letta said with a broad smile, making Mia roll her eyes lazily.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Because you’ve chosen that from the beginning, so your relationship hasn’t progressed, as you’re constantly left behind by your boyfriend,” Mia said, sometimes feeling annoyed with Letta and Abian’s seemingly stagnant relationship. There hasn’t been any progress in their relationship, which has been going on for two years.
“I’m sure he’s more comfortable looking at female lions than staring at you all day,” Mia said, making Letta sigh in annoyance. “Are you comparing me to those animals?” Letta asked again, making Mia just shrug and get up from her seat.
“Have you eaten?” Mia asked, walking towards the kitchen, making Letta shake her head.
“Coincidentally, I have a new recipe, and it seems you’re the lucky one who will taste it first,” Mia said, making Letta nod eagerly. Besides being good at nagging someone, Mia was also skilled at cooking. Of course, this made Letta never refuse any food served to her.
“With pleasure, I will always enjoy whatever you cook,” Letta said. Throughout the day, Letta didn’t know how many times she had filled her stomach because she was so busy packing her things and going to the doctor. Letta even forgot about the fetus she was carrying.
Letta sometimes reproached herself for seemingly neglecting her health and always forgetting to fill her stomach. Letta caressed her still flat stomach. Letta regretted her actions, sometimes forgetting that there was someone who was now living inside her body, relying only on the food that entered her mouth. Letta let out a long breath.
From today onwards, Letta would no longer neglect her health and the health of her future child. And it seemed that in the future, Letta would have to strengthen herself to face the people who might make her life difficult every day.
