Chapter 35
Chapter 35
If she were to judge by his behavior of seven years ago, Oliver wasn't someone that talked much before people he wasn't familiar with but in the presence of those he was familiar with, he was known to be a very playful individual who always had something to say. Hence, seeing Ollie very quiet after telling him something so important started to bother her. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
She stared at him, nervous, in anticipation of what he was going to do next. She had envisioned so many times in her quiet times what his reaction was going to be if she ever told him the truth but never did she envision this part of him.
Not only was he quiet, but he was also staring. Staring at nothing in particular, not even her. His gaze was only fixed in a particular direction.
After what felt like forever, his voice came through which relieved her a little.
"Sorry?" He arched his brow as though he didn't hear what she said earlier.
"I...I got pregnant from the sex we had."
"What do you mean?" His voice came out strictly. His look was stern. Yeah, reminded her of the scary Ollie that she knew.
"Pregnancy happens when the opposite sex has sexual intercourse so?!"She shrugged because it was a fact.
"Stop bullshitting me, woman. I'm smart enough to know that." He raised his voice at her which startled her.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me, Ollie. Or don't think I will let you bully me just because you're bigger than me."
"Just shut the fuck up and stop playing the pity card. No one is bullying you here. Or do I have to remind you that we made use of condoms?"
Katherine was about to say something but he interrupted. "Look, I know how much of an asshole I can be and how playful I can be but I'm never a fan of pranks. This joke is becoming too expensive so please just stop it." He said strictly, with his stare piercing through her soul.
"You think I'm silly or that jobless to make jokes out of serious situations like this? You literally almost raped me for not wanting to tell you the truth and now that I did, you're taking my words for granted?"
"Spare me that speech, Bitch!!! Do I have to remind you that we made use of condoms?" He said again.
Katherine chuckled, not believing her ears. "I thought you just mentioned that you are smart enough? Aren't you smart enough to know that these things also fail? The condom probably broke while you were humping on me or you probably used an expired one."
"Spare me that crap, Katherine. Are you not smart enough to get some pills or go get an abortion? Hell, are you even sure it's mine? You probably had sexes with other people after what we had and you are here, filling me in on your cock and bull stories."
Katherine chuckled with a victorious smile on her face. "I'm not disappointed. I saw this coming. I knew you were going to react this way which was the reason I never wanted to say anything. It would have been better if I had kept quiet. Wouldn't it?"
"You women are the most terrible creatures I have ever come across. You knew clearly I was going to react this way. You knew clearly how much I hated Kids and didn't want to have anything to do with them and yet you made all these happen? Justifying yourself with some made-up stories? You're nothing but a psycho. I wish I didn't fuck you that night."
Even though the words he was saying were painful words, Katherine had no idea why she didn't get freaked out by it. Maybe it was because She had expected the worst reaction from him.
"Why are you so mad? The fact that we fucked or that you got me pregnant?"
"Can you stop saying that word?"
"What word?" For some reason, She loved the fact that he was furious. She loved that he was mad and she loved the fact that she could make him feel that way.
Ollie sighed, took a few steps away from her, then strolled around the kitchen, like someone who was trying to get some air.
"So you can actually do without cornering me? Wow!!!" She didn't mean for him to hear her but he heard anyway.
"Why are you finding this funny? I'm in some deepshit here?"
"So am I?" She spilled casually.
Oliver exhaled, ran his fingers through his hair then approached her.
"Look, you won." He said, taking slow steps back to her. You've got the worst behavior out of me. Can you please bring this prank to an end?" Because Katherine was taking the whole situation really cool, Ollie had a little sense of hope that all of those could be a joke.
Katherine chuckled, "I'm not surprised you still don't believe me. But it's cool. My mom wanted me to let you know about it and I've obviously done my part." She said, reaching for her purse and car keys on the counter behind her.
"Please don't behave like the righteous one here because it's pissing me off. You know very well that I'm child phobia. I don't want to know if I'm right with the terms but you know what I'm talking about."
"I don't even know if I should trust you or not. You sound so unbothered about this."
"Should I be bothered?" She chipped in, staring at him with creased eyebrows.
"Of course, you fucking should. You are literally ruining my life."
"How?"
"Because you don't want children?"
"If you hadn't forced me to say anything, you wouldn't have any heart aches."
"Now that I have heart aches, what do you expect me to do?!" He looked so confused and worried at the same time. A lot of things were going through his head that he had no idea which to focus on.
"Do I need to tell you what to do?"
"Of course. It's a long time since we had sex. So why now? Why are you telling me all of these when you've kept it away for like....Fuck seven years??" His eyes widened upon seeing that, whatever the probability was, the said baby would be Seven years old.
"What the hell? Seven freaking years???" He said in shock as his heart started beating twice faster. His natural dislike for kids was really getting to him.
Knowing she had no strength to continue this conversation, plus the fact that she needed her beauty sleep for tomorrow, Kathie felt it was best if she excused herself.
He stopped her by holding her hand still when she was about to leave.
"What again?" She groaned, trying to wriggle out of his hold.
"You just gonna leave? Leave me with all this information and feelings?"
"I thought you were eager to know about what I had to say"
"I was but this is all bullshit and unexpected. I was expecting you to talk about perhaps any unfinished feelings you have for me."
Katherine couldn't help with the laughter that escaped her lips. "She couldn't care less about any of his future reactions. Knowing the conversation made him uneasy gave her so much joy.
"Goodnight." She said, finally walking away from him, thankful that he didn't stop her.
"Where is it?" He said before she approached the door.
Katherine stopped in her tracks.
She heard well but she just didn't want to believe her ears. "Where's what?"
"Where's it?" He said again.
"It?"
"Stop playing, Katherine. You know what I'm talking about"
"It?" She said again, not believing he was referring to her baby as a thing.
"Dead." She said and began to walk away.
"What???" Even though he sounded shocked, she could still hear the slight relief in his voice.
"IT is dead." She glared at him and walked away.
