True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2217

Chapter 2217

Kendrix seemed to have sensed Sylvia staring at him, so he suddenly turned around to meet Sylvia's gaze.

When their eyes met, Sylvia blushed at once.

She was so embarrassed that she lowered her head, not daring to look at the man again. She did not expect him to have realized that she was peeping at him.

When the man in the kitchen noticed Sylvia sneaking peeks at him, he could not help but smile. A tint of glee flashed through his eyes, and he was seemingly delighted.

Her shy posture made him feel even more gratified.

Kendrix turned on the stove. The soft crackling of the flames made the whole room feel even more lively.

Sylvia listened to the sound of the stove in the kitchen. The sound disrupted her heart.

She raised her hands and touched her lips that were forcefully kissed by Kendrix a while ago. It stung a little, and the feeling of both anxiety yet sheer bliss arose in her heart.

She felt that she was being too bold now.

Sylvia knew she couldn't do it with him yet. At the same time, when she thought of Kendrix, she knew that she could not bear to refuse him.

Now that school had started, she would study hard.

Yet, she was feeling a mixture of uneasiness and happiness.

After all, a student had more important duties to fulfill. All of this was bringing too much pressure to her.

Sylvia pursed her lips and took a deep breath. After that, she looked into Kendrix's direction again. She realized that Kendrix was waving at her, as if he was calling her.

She immediately got up and walked towards him.

She noticed that Kendrix had finished heating up the dishes, and was even considerate enough to put it onto a larger plate. It seemed like he was doing this to avoid being burned.

"Come on, bring the dishes over to the table," Kendrix looked at Sylvia and asked, "Can you do it?"

Sylvia felt even more embarrassed after hearing that.

She took the plate over and realized that it was not that hot.

"If I can't even complete this task, I really will be useless," Sylvia laughed, "I promise that I will complete this task successfully. Don't worry, Mr. Trevino."

Upon hearing this title, a glimmer flashed through Kendrix's eyes.

He raised his eyebrows and looked at Sylvia's red face, the look in his eyes deepening.

Once Sylvia met with his gaze, she immediately lowered her head and quickly turned around to leave.

Kendrix watched her leave the kitchen with the plate of dishes. She seemed like she was running away. He turned back and looked at the pot on the stove. Kendrix took a deep breath and he seemed to have calmed down a little.

A while later, Sylvia finished setting the table. She walked back to the kitchen and stood at the entrance, asking, "Is there anything else you need help with?"

"Nope," Kendrix said, "Just go out and play."

"What?" Sylvia felt that the way he structured his words were strange. Did he still treat her as a child?

Kendrix turned around as he looked at her playfully. He laughed while protesting silently, "Don't you want to play?"

"I am not a child," Sylvia grumbled, "You are saying it as if I am a child. It makes me feel as if I don't know how to do anything."

"No!" Kendrix shook his head seriously and explained, "You are not completely useless. You are very useful."

"Is that so?" Sylvia pouted. She did not quite believe Kendrix's words. On the contrary, she felt that Kendrix was just being perfunctory. That was why she wanted to figure out what she was useful for.

With that, she asked directly, "Tell me, how am I useful to you?"

Upon hearing that, Kendrix took a deep look at her. Then, he walked to the door and approached her.

Due to his height, he was able to look down on Sylvia triumphantly. Instantly, it made her feel nervous and distraught.

Sylvia looked up at Kendrix, trying her best not to avoid his gaze. Although his eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, she still mustered up the courage to face him.

"Are you trying to comfort me?" Sylvia whispered, "I know you are since my self-esteem is already hurt."

"Is your self-esteem really that

strong?" Kendrix grinned, "In my impression, you won't give up until you reach your goal. Your

self esteem shouldn't be a reason for you to stop, am I right?

Upon hearing that, Sylvia froze for a moment before bursting into laughter. A smile flashed through her eyes as she beamed, the look in her eyes resembling that of stars in the sky.

"That's right. I am not someone who can be defeated so easily."

"So why are you asking that?"

"I am just curious," Sylvia glanced at him before asking carefully, "What exactly am I to you?"

Kendrix smiled. Then, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply.

It was sudden and intense, with no warning given beforehand.

It was so overbearing and domineering that Sylvia almost fainted at the door.

After Kendrix finished kissing her, he looked down into her eyes and asked, "Will this answer do?"

Was her only purpose to be kissed by him?

What was the use of this?

"You... How could you do this?" She stared at Kendrix, not expecting such an answer after her previous question.

Kendrix said nothing and just flashed a playful smirk at her.

Sylvia looked at his face and blushed.

He was way too enchanting.

He was truly a bright and dazzling man. His face was angular and he had a unique masculine aura that seemed particularly attractive. Sylvia held her breath and just watched Kendrix silently. She found that she couldn't turn her gaze away.

"Why can't I?" The man asked with a smile.

He enjoyed smiling more now. Whenever he did, he would look gentler, his initial cold aura totally overridden with a sense of cheerfulness.

When their eyes met, the look in

Kendrix's eyes made Sylvia feel very

shy. However, she still grabbed his arms tightly and complained

ornament."

"That's right," Kendrix nodded seriously as if he agreed with her opinion, "Of course you are an ornament. You are beautiful but limited in use."

Sylvia was a smart girl, so she could understand the meaning behind Kendrix's words easily.

He was saying that she was useless.

Kendrix looked at her and sized her

up, as if he was worried that she would not understand his words, "Even if you can be used, you are still not at the right age yet. Thinking about it makes me upset."

"I'll ignore you starting now," Sylvia's face was as red as a tomato. She shoved Kendrix away, turned around and left him alone in the kitchen.

He knew that she understood his words and that she felt even more embarrassed.

Kendrix shook his head and immediately returned to the kitchen. If he stalled any longer, the dishes would be burnt.
