True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2238

Chapter 2238

Claudia was really worried that Sylvia's voice would be too loud and Heinz and Grace would hear their conversation. That would not be great. Sylvia quickly turned her head to look at her parents, heaving a sigh of relief when she realized that they were not paying attention to them.

Claudia and Sylvia quickened their paces to the second floor and soon arrived in front of Sebastian's room.

"Why do I feel like your parents are setting a trap by asking me to come up here?" Claudia voiced her doubts.

"Why do I feel like you are just overthinking? I don't think they have such thoughts," Sylvia said in a low voice, "Perhaps they think Sebastian will stop throwing a tantrum since you're a guest."

"That sounds kind of ridiculous. You're thinking too highly of me if you think that's what he'd do." Claudia laughed at herself.

However, Sylvia was suddenly feeling upset to hear Claudia laughing at herself like that. It seemed that Sebastian had hurt Claudia badly.

"Don't be so depressed." Sylvia comforted her in a low voice, "I still think Sebastian treats you differently than he did with other girls."

"Forget it." Claudia shook her head. "He doesn't even care about me. I gave up hoping long ago."

Only then did Sylvia realize that she had not asked much about Claudia's feelings after the shock she experienced while they were heading up the stairs. She quickly grabbed Claudia's sleeve with one hand and asked nervously, "Are you serious? Don't you want to continue?"

Looking at Sylvia's earnest and worried look, Claudia nodded and laughed at herself again. She said bitterly, "I can't force anything to happen. I shouldn't force myself onto others when they don't want me. I have to stop when I still can. Wouldn't it only make my life miserable if I kept approaching him? Even if I don't mind losing my dignity, I still can't go this far as a girl, right?"

Sylvia wanted to encourage Claudia and tell her to go for it.

However, she couldn't bring herself to say it.

She knew very well how depressed and hopeless it was to be pursuing a man who didn't feel the same.

Fortunately, Kendrix still had feelings for her.

Her love was not just a one sided infatuation.

However, what about Claudia and Sebastian?

She felt that there was a strange atmosphere between Claudia and Sebastian.

Yet, it seemed unlikely that he liked Claudia.

After all, there was too big an age gap between them.

It was too difficult to overcome.

She wanted to say something but stopped on second thought. Claudia added as if she was mocking herself, "I can go all out when I am in love with someone. I can take rejections and blows, and even lose my dignity, but I can't accept the other party not responding to me when I am this persistent."

"Claudia." Sylvia called her name pitifully. "It's kind of terrifying to see you this solemn."

Claudia burst into laughter. "What is there to be terrified of? You are a little devil yourself, and you even have the guts to go after Kendrix."

"I'm not afraid to like him, but I'm afraid to see you sad," Sylvia said.

Claudia was stunned and she smiled again, feeling warmth in her heart.

However, she still shook her head and said, "I am very calm, and I know what am I doing. I thought it thoroughly already. I am willing to put in more effort if he shows some feelings for me, but what's the point of me continuing when he doesn't have any feelings for me?"

"Are you sure about giving up?" Sylvia was not optimistic about Sebastian and Claudia getting together as she had thought they were not a good match in the beginning.

However, as of then, her heart broke when she saw Claudia's expression and heard what she said.

She had always felt that Claudia was the kind of girl who shone brilliantly and would not be so easily depressed.

Yet, it seemed like Claudia was just a normal girl then.

No matter how positive or bubbly one was, they would still be saddened by such cold treatment.

Sylvia could understand, but she just didn't know how to help Claudia in such situation.

"Should we still give him the food then?" Sylvia asked.

Claudia smiled and asked, "Why not?"

"I thought you didn't want to go and that we forced you," Sylvia whispered.

"It's indeed hard for me, but I want to give it to him. Although I am giving up, I still care about him." Claudia smiled helplessly and said, "Forget it. I'll knock on the door."

"I'll leave then," Sylvia said, "I'll be by the corridor, keeping a lookout for you. Do what you feel right, grasp onto any opportunity you get, and worse come to worse, just pounce on him."

Claudia said, "Forget it. I don't want to break the law knowingly."

"Break the law knowingly?" Sylvia was stunned. It was only then that she was reminded of Sebastian's age and how it was stopping Claudia to pounce on him.

It was just like how Kendrix couldn't do what he wanted with her.

They had the hots for each other, but they couldn't take things too far.

Claudia nodded. "I'm not going to do that to a minor. I'll just be delivering the food. You don't have to leave. You can listen from here."

"I can't. I don't want to be eavesdropping." Sylvia shook her head.

"Is that so?" Claudia laughed as if she was suspicious of Sylvia's words.

"Don't you believe me?" Sylvia asked, but she actually felt a little guilty too after her words left her mouth.

After all, she had been a nosy kid just not long ago, wanting to know about others' affairs.

As Claudia stared at her, she felt even guiltier.

Claudia didn't say much. She just smiled and said, "Suit yourself."

Sylvia quickly handed the plate to Claudia and knocked on the door for her. Then she immediately v

and looked back at Claudia,

At that time, the door opened.

Sebastian stood at the door. When he saw Claudia with two plates of food, he frowned and asked grumpily, "Who asked you to come?"

"Hey Little Jones, Uncle Jones and Aunt Smith did." Claudia stood at the door and said in a formal tone, "You still haven't had your fill, right?" "I'm full," he said in a deep voice.

However, his stomach didn't cooperate. As soon as he said those words, his stomach began to growl.

She heard it and looked at his belly.

However, she didn't say anything.

Seeing that she was looking at his belly, Sebastian blushed.

She said, "Just eat some of it. It's a waste not to enjoy such a delicious meal. You do know some kids from

His face turned redder after hearing her words. He was still frowning as he said in a low voice, "Take it away."

"Why are you mad?" she asked again. "Don't worry. I wouldn't come here often in the future."

Of course, he didn't believe her. In his eyes, she had no credibility at all.

She had said she wouldn't pester him anymore previously.

Yet, she was right in front of him, and what she did to him was more than just pestering him. Who was she trying to fool?

How could he pretend that she did not exist?

"Why aren't you taking them?" She asked, seeing that he did not move. "If you don't take them, I'll think that you're trying to invite me into your room."

"What nonsense." Sebastian couldn't help raising his voice.

"Why are you panicking now?" Claudia's tone was still unhurried. She even smiled, looking calm. "Generally speaking, when one raises their voices suddenly, it means they're guilty of having their thoughts seen through. Hence the

exasperation."

His chest rose and fell several times in an instant, and his breathing became a lot faster.

She did it on purpose.

She was irritating him on purpose.

He narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath, looking at her with a sharp gaze.

However, that time, he held back and did not speak.

He knew that if he spoke too hastily, he would really be at a disadvantage.

He didn't want to lose himself in an argument with her.

It was hard for him to calm down when facing her, and he didn't know why.

It was weird.

After calming down a little, a calm smile suddenly returned to Sebastian's face. "Well, if that's what you think, fine. Come in then."

After that, he turned and went into the room.

Claudia was stunned. She thought that she would leave after he took the food from her.

Or, at the very least, he would scold her for being meddlesome, but no.

That was abnormal.

It was beyond her perception.
