Twisted Ties of Love

Chapter 141

Chapter 141

After reading the news about Brett and Izabella online, Kaley had a fit of rage at home. She smashed all the lamps and decorations on the cabinet to the ground and even slapped Trista.

Her eyes were red, her carefully applied makeup was ruined by tears, smearing her face into a mess. Her hair was disheveled, making her look like a psycho.

"Ms. Cornett," Trista covered her face, her eyes filled with fear. She never imagined that someone who was usually so calm could become so irritable and even hit her.

"Get out!" Kaley hoarsely shouted.

After Trista left in annoyance, Kaley collapsed on the ground, picking up her phone from the floor. The news headlines all read "Brett and Izabella's Romance."

If they were in love, what did that make her?

It was her who met Brett first, and she was the one who had been with him all along!

The praises for Brett's deep affection for Izabella felt like heavy thunderbolts striking Trista's heart, causing aching echoes that pierced her to the core.

She had to reevaluate the years she spent with Brett, and fragments of memories flashed through her mind.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated, bringing Kaley back to reality. Subconsciously hoping it was Brett calling to explain, she flipped over the phone and saw the number she least wanted to see.

—Nolan.

She clenched her phone tightly, struggling with her thoughts. As the ringtone was about to end, she answered the call.

A mocking voice immediately came from the other end, "I thought you wouldn't answer my call."

"What would you do if I didn't answer?"

Nolan paused and laughed, "Then I would keep calling again and again."

Kaley took a deep breath. "Are you threatening me?"

"Kaley, how could I threaten you when I love you so much? I miss you. Let's meet at our usual place."

Kaley remained silent, listening to the voice on the phone. "After four years, this hotel is still the same. Kaley, I want to see you at 6 o'clock tonight."

Kaley gritted her teeth and, after a long while, managed to squeeze out a word from her throat. "Fine."

*Nolan was satisfied and hung up the call.

Kaley tightly held her phone and stood up, going upstairs to change her clothes. She tidied up her makeup, but no matter how much she tried to conceal it, the redness in her eyes remained visible.

Kaley was furious at the thought of Izabella and Brett being so affectionate while she had to deal with Nolan, this disgusting man.

The huge difference distorted her expression even more. She tightly gripped the curling comb in her hand, the teeth of the comb digging into her palm, leaving dense imprints, but she couldn't feel the pain at all.

Izabella, I want you dead! Dead! Dead!

Trista was downstairs preparing dinner when she heard the commotion outside. She turned around and saw Kaley, with a sulky expression, carrying a bag as if she was about to leave.

"Ms. Cornett, are you going out again?"

"Yes, I won't be back tonight." Kaley put on her high heels and thought for a moment. "Remember to keep your mouth shut and don't let Brett know I'm going out." NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

Trista clearly felt the chill radiating from behind Kaley's sunglasses. She quickly nodded and watched as Kaley got into the car and left. Trista touched her still sore face and shook her head in disbelief.

Kaley arrived on time for the appointment. The "usual place" Nolan mentioned was where they used to meet four years ago.

Places like bars, where relationships between men and women were impure, often led to something happening after drinking. The first time Kaley and Nolan met, it was an unexpected occurrence.

Since then, this man had been pestering her, claiming to love her. Kaley's eyes revealed a contemptuous look. If she didn't have money, would he love her?

Looking at the room number in the text message on her phone, Kaley took the elevator to the fifth floor. After confirming the room number several times, she knocked on the door.

After waiting for a few seconds, there was a noise from the door handle, and it opened from the inside.

Nolan had just taken a shower and he was wrapped in a towel. Steam filled the bathroom behind him, and Kaley could smell the scent of body wash.

Nolan had decent looks, blond hair, an earring in his left ear, and a wicked smile on the corner of his mouth. His face could be described as "rakishly handsome."

He exuded a sense of non-seriousness, and compared to Brett, he was like someone from the underworld while Brett was from the heavens.

He was not even remotely comparable to Brett.

"Do you want to take a shower?"

"No." Kaley didn't have a good attitude towards him and entered with a stern face, "why did you call me here?"

Nolan licked his lips and hugged Kaley from behind, playfully lifting her hair to his lips.

"We haven't seen each other for so long. Don't you miss me?" His heavy breath sprayed onto her neck, tickling her.

I wish you were dead. Kaley cursed inwardly, her expression stiffed as she bit her lower lip.

Nolan could feel her resistance as he held her. The smile on his face grew deeper. He lifted Kaley and threw her onto the bed, affectionately saying, "I've missed you so much in these four years, thinking about you every moment of every day."

Kaley turned her head aside without struggling. Since she had come, she was prepared, but she still felt disgusted when Nolan started saying sweet words and kissed her.

She carried various emotions in her heart—disgust, hatred. Why did Brett treat Izabella so well?

With this hatred, she took it upon herself to hook Nolan's neck, twisted with the thought of getting back at Brett in this way.

He refused to touch her from the beginning, right? Then she would sleep with other men. Kaley was not unloved.

Nolan held Kaley, his eyes half-closed. He could sense that she had something on her mind. This woman had malice deep within her; she was skilled at disguising herself. But four years ago, he had seen through her tricks and knew what mattered most to her.

"Nolan, do you want money?"

Kaley lay on him like a snake, seemingly soft and boneless, but in reality, her teeth were coated with venom. One wrong move and someone would perish in her embrace.

Nolan wasn't afraid, and he cupped her chin. "Of course I do. Who doesn't like money?"

Kaley grabbed the hand that was holding her chin with one hand and seductively said, "Then help me kill someone."

Nolan raised an eyebrow, his expression not surprised. "Who do you want dead?"

"Izabella Salotti." Kaley's face remained calm, but her eyes revealed her hatred. She wanted Izabella dead. She stubbornly believed that once Izabella was dead, everything would return to its original path, and Brett would be hers forever.

"It seems that the accident you staged four years ago was in vain. You haven't dragged Izabella down yet."

Kaley was someone who could be ruthless to herself, always resorting to any means necessary. Unfortunately, the carefully planned accident only helped Izabella, serving as her wedding gown.

There was mockery in Nolan's tone. Kaley pretended not to hear it. "Once you kill Izabella, Brett will marry me. I'll give you as much money as you want."

Nolan sneered, "If I kill someone for you and Brett finds out how Izabella died, I won't be far from death either. It's killing two birds with one stone. Do you think I'm a fool, Kaley?"
