Twisted Ties of Love

Chapter 260

Chapter 260

Izabella was silent for a long time, tears unconsciously sliding down her cheeks. She asked, "Why do you treat me like this?"

"I don't want to, but I have to do this to keep you." Said Brett.

Izabella knew he had made up his mind, he didn't want this baby. Her emotions were all over the place and her face was getting worse and worse.

"What if I stay with you?" she asked in a hoarse voice, "Can we keep this baby?"

Brett shook his head and silently said no.

This was her child, a life in her belly, and her hope. Izabella didn't understand why Brett would rather adopt from an orphanage than have her give birth to their child. Was it because he thought she was unclean?

Izabella glanced at the corridor and the room window outside, and her actions immediately made Brett understand her thoughts.

He said, "You're on the twelfth floor, you can't escape. I'll have someone watch you all the time."

To think that such ruthless words came from the man who once said he loved her like his life, it was just ridiculous.

What was even more ridiculous was not just Brett, but herself as well. She thought she held such an important position in Brett's heart, but the reality was that she was insignificant and could easily disappear.

"Fine." Said Izabella.

Surprise flashed in Brett's eyes, as he didn't expect Izabella would agree so quickly. He thought she would love the child too much to give up.

He even considered how to force Izabella to have the anesthesia for the abortion.

For a moment, his feelings were mixed, and he felt extremely pain. He said, "It's good that you've come to terms with it."

Come to terms? Izabella sneered in her heart, but her face remained calm, "However, I hope we can postpone the surgery. I'm not feeling well right now, and it's too dangerous to have surgery."

"Until when?" Asked Brett.

"A week later." Izabella saw the worry in Brett's eyes, and she knew he wasn't worried about her health, but worried that she would change her mind and not have the abortion. She added, "Don't worry, I'll sign the surgical agreement when the doctor brings tomorrow."

Her indifference was like a dagger piercing his heart, causing him unbearable pain, but he knew he deserved all of this. He didn't even have the right to cry out in pain.

Izabella said, "You're right, this child shouldn't come into this world. His birth is not good for us, and it's not responsible for him either. He won't get any fatherly love, and with my amnesia and disabled hands, I can't protect him."

What did she mean by "no fatherly love"?

Brett didn't dare to ask.

Izabella ignored him, muttered a few words, and then covered herself with the blanket. She curled up in the bed like a baby or a hedgehog, showing no sense of security.

Unable to sleep after lying down, Izabella touched her belly and said, "Don't worry, mommy won't let you die."

The 4-week-old child inside her couldn't respond or even move.

As soon as the sky turned bright, the doctor brought the surgical agreement. Izabella looked at the surgery time, which was exactly one week away. She had a week to plan her escape from here.

Brett stood by, watching Izabella sign the agreement without hesitation, and his mood became heavier and heavier.

"I want to go back to the villa and rest, I don't like staying in the hospital." Said Izabella.

Izabella, whether before or after amnesia, hated being hospitalized. She didn't like waking up to a sea of white and didn't want to breathe in the smell of disinfectant. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

To her, the hospital was a place full of separation, and every corner was filled with a depressing atmosphere.

Brett didn't immediately agree; he was obviously worried.

Flipping her long hair, Izabella said mockingly, "I'm just a mentally disturbed patient who has lost her memory. In this strange city, do you think I can escape your watch?"

Brett's eyes hardened, "I'll take you back."

That afternoon, Brett took Izabella out of the hospital and back to the villa.

Izabella's attitude turned icy, her gaze at Brett was no longer gentle as before, and she didn't even bother to pretend anymore.

She was radiating a "stay away from me, keep your distance" vibe, making it impossible for Brett to approach her.

"I don't want to see you for a while." Izabella said bluntly. "I'm a patient, and I have to get surgery in a week. I don't know how risky the surgery is, and all I can do is try to stay in a good mood to avoid increasing the risk. You don't want any problems during my surgery, do you?"

"So when can we see each other?" Asked Brett.

"If possible, I hope we never see each other again for the rest of our lives. Brett, I'm starting to get disgusted with you, and I don't want to turn all the love I once had for you into hate. So please, don't come back in this week and don't let me see you." Asked Izabella.

Brett had trouble breathing from the pain, but this was the best outcome he could expect, after all, he was the one who deceived her.

"Fine, I'll see you on the day of the surgery." Brett turned to leave, walking slowly, hoping Izabella would say goodbye. However, he didn't hear her say it even after he went downstairs and got in the car.

He rolled down the window, looking up at the bedroom on the second floor with the curtains tightly drawn.

Brett's heart was bitter, and all he could do was endure and accept this result slowly, comforting himself that it was useless.

He gave up so much just to keep Izabella by his side, and since he chose this path, there was no room for regret.

Brett had never thought that Izabella would leave during this time. After all, there were servants at home to take care of her, and surveillance cameras were installed inside and outside the villa.

More importantly, as Izabella said herself, her hands were crippled with lost memories, and she knew nothing about this city. Where could she go?

Izabella stood behind the curtain, bewildered. The curtain had a layer of patterned gauze on it, so she could see the outside from the inside, but not from the outside.

She looked at the car outside, and it was too far away to see Brett's figure as he got into the car. However, she could vaguely feel that he was also leaning against the window, watching this side.

She didn't know how long it lasted, but eventually, Brett stepped on the gas, and the car slowly turned around and drove away.

"See you, Brett." The phrase "see you" should imply that they would meet again, but now that she said it, it had a different meaning.

Izabella suddenly pulled back the curtain, watching the car get farther and farther away. The light in her eyes dimmed gradually. Even after the car disappeared from her sight, she continued staring outside.

Izabella leaned against the wall, puking her guts out. She tasted the nasty salty flavor in her mouth.

She truly loved Brett with all her heart, but she had made up her mind to leave him.

She couldn't just sit there and wait for him to trap her like a bird in a cage again, unable to see the sunlight. She had lost her memory for almost three months, having been in a fog for way too long.
