” Where are you Antiono? I’ve been here for more than an hour.” Mrs. Alastor asked as soon as he answered.
” Give me some minutes Mother. You can drive with Aaron and we can see at home ”
” Don’t start that with me now, come here immediately.” She ordered.
He ended the call, he was already running late and needed to see Ariel, it was almost time for her presentation. Then his phone vibrated.
Fuck! Mia was calling again, he didn’t want to disappoint Ariel. Not now when he won her heart . He got to the airport in no time and found his mother casually chatting with Charlotte. He grew wide in anger,
” Mother, you’re such a pain. Why didn’t you let Charlotte drive you. She’s as important as I am.” He yelled
” Drive me home, we have a lot to talk about.” She didn’t bother to answer his question.
His mother was used to making so many demands, he wondered how he was going to fulfill the request of the most important set of people in his life.
” Mum, I have some urgent work. Let’s go home and I will go to work.”
” Why are you such a hurry? The last time I checked, you’re the CEO and I’m sure everyone listens to your command.”
” Mum, please don’t start now.”
“Take me home, we would discuss everything at home.”
Aaron took the luggage in his car while his mum and Charlotte drove with him.
” You didn’t bring your car?”
He asked Charlotte.
” I ordered a ride, but didn’t want to drive.”
” You should have asked me to drive you ” he was just trying to get nice, just to play out that things were okay between them
“I’m sorry about that. I knew you would be busy with business.” Age responded coldly, making it obvious that things weren’t going well.
” Have you thought of a wedding date, Antonio?” His mother asked.
” Wedding date, mother? Is that what you came for?”
” What silly questions? I asked a question, Antiono.
” I’ve not thought of a date mother, I’m busy with the company.”
” I will help you with a date, once I rest we would go shopping for the wedding rings and dress.”
” Is that necessary?”
” So you wear your pijamas to a wedding?” She was sarcastic.
” Mother, ” he smiled, he caught her joke
“I have to go now, it’s important.”
” Will you leave us half way?”
” I will call Aaron and he will take you home.”

” Mother, I will tell you everything once I get home this evening.”
“Antiono!” She caled out in anger.
“Mother…do you live me and want my life to be safe?” He was blackmailing her but he didn’t care. This was the only way.
” Yes…” she was scared.
” Then let me go, I will explain when I come back.” He left immediately, and walked to his car.

“What’s taking more time mother? He’s supposed to be here.”
“I guess it’s the traffic, I will call him again.”
She dialed his number again but it rang for a long time, unanswered.
“Pick up the phone, Antiono.” She muttered.
It was almost time, and the presentation was here.
She dialed the number again but didn’t get any response, it was unlike him.
He had never tried to disappoint or rejectvgr calls. She was worried and also angry at the same time.
Ariel was already sad, she didn’t want to go for the presentation. She was already in tears, it made Mia grow mad I’m anger.
” Listen to me Ariel, take no notice of him. He happy. He broke our trust.”
” No mother, he promised me. He has never broken any of his promises.”
She listened to get daughter and couldn’t believe, she still trusted him. She still believed every word he said.

He got a text immediately he dropped his mum, it was from Mia.
It read,
” Thanks for hurting I and Ariel.”
It made him so angry that he pushed the windows, it shattered and he was bleeding.
He left the car doors open as he raced down to the school, luckily Ariel’s presentation wasn’t over. She looked sad as she muttered series of lines her mother made her rehearsed.
” Ariel, my girl.” She turned to look at Antiono.
He was still panting and he looked dirty, she was so excited that she left the stage to hug him.
” You came.” She shouted with joy.
” I told you, I won’t miss it right?”
” You have an injury, does it hurt?”
” It doesn’t, finish your presentation then I can appky sone first aid.”
She rushed back to the stage and finished her presentation.
Mia came right away with the first aid box,
” What happened to you?” She asked, as she took his hands to dress it.
” Don’t worry about it, I promised Ariel I will dress it once she’s done.”
” Can you hear yourself?”
” Don’t he stubborn now, let’s cheeer our daughter now.”
She looked at him shocked, he didn’t even realize he said something like that. She watched as he looked at Ariel, he truly loved her despite nit knowing if she was his daughter or not .
The presentation was done and Mia was glad,
” I was scared you weren’t going to come.”
” I was scared too, Charlotte made my mum do things but I had to show I was in charge.”
She smiled at him.
“, You’re mum is around?”
” She came this morning, but without my dad.”
” I would really love to mert her, ”
” Not now, I’m not sure she will be happy to see you.
” It’s fine…I was so worried you won’t come. I said some mean things to Ariel.”
” I understand. It’s not your fault, you were just trying to get a good mother.”
“How did you get hurt?”
” I mistakenly knocked over a glass.” He lied, how could he said he had intentionally hurt himself out of anger?
” I’m so happy you’re here. Mum you I told you he won’t disappoint me.”
” She really believed in you. Why ?”
” I won’t want to hurt her , no matter what.”
