Chapter 31

When Jewel went upstairs, she went straight to her son's room. She sat down on her son's bed and

picked up one of Storm's pillows. She scanned the room, looking at the books and drawings she could

see.

Later, her eyes darted to a photo album lying on the bedside table. She picked it up and opened it. Her

tears quickly dropped when she saw its contents. Pure pictures of her with different angles, with the

words 'My superhero and the best mom in the world' written at the bottom. She also saw a few pictures

of the two of them together. Her son has a bigger smile in those pictures.

Even though her son is still young, she was already proud of him. He grew up smart and could speak

well. He also loved to debate like his father.

This time, she realizes her shortcomings. She knew in herself that she had great shortcomings with the

child. She can't be able to give the child a whole family, then, she also let the child feel that he was

alone.

Jewell falls in remorse at those times. Perhaps her mother was right that she was to blame for all of the

happenings and no one else should be blamed, only her.

The next day, Jewel woke up early because the police were going to their house to give an update. It

had been 24 hours since her son disappeared.

She took a shower and tidied up before finally leaving the room. Just after she got downstairs, she

caught up with her parents who were talking to the police. She quickly approached them.

"Sir, is there any news about my son? Did you see him?" She immediately asked.

She wants to see and be with her child as soon as possible. She wants to make up for all her

shortcomings as a mother. It’s just funny to think that if this thing never happens, she wouldn’t see the

value of her son.

“Calm down, Ms. Jewel. We have a lead on where your child is. " The policeman replied.

"Where is he?"

"Someone said they saw your son with someone yesterday. They didn't know if your child knew the

person he was walking with or not. But earlier, we received confirmation that your child is in good

condition and good people are with him. "

"What are we waiting for? We need to go to the place you say. I need to get my son, " she said in a

hurry.

The policeman immediately nodded and left their house. She told her parents to leave them alone and

she would be the only one to come over.

They quickly reached the place where the child was. Jewel could hardly move when they reached a

condominium.

'What the heck Jewel? Don't be a negative thinker. The size of this building was large so definitely,

there's a lot of people living here.' - she reminded herself.

"Are you okay, Jewel? Your son is here inside this building." Kevin told her. Kevin was a lawyer and

also her cousin.

"I am, Kev,"

They quickly entered the building along with two other policemen.

While they were in the elevator, Jewel was so nervous. She almost held her breath. Later, the elevator

When they were in front of a unit, her sweat was dripping. She couldn't hide the fact she was almost

shaking in nervousness. She doesn't want to think anything but the truth was slapping her to the idea

that she already knows who's the person that her son was currently with.

"Hey... Are you sure you are okay? You're pale." Her cousin commented in worrying.

She immediately nodded in response. Even though she really wanted to slap her cousin because he

didn't even say to her that he knew who was with her son.

She even saw her cousin knock on the door. After a few seconds, it opened and she was surprised to

see the only person that she never wanted to meet again.

"What's the matter?" The person asked.

Before Jewel's cousin or the cops could answer the person, a woman suddenly came.

“What’s going on here? What's the problem, Thunder? Why are there the police? " The woman asked

in surprise and eyes suddenly widened when she looked at her cousin.

"K-kevin?" The woman asked. Stuttering.

"Nice to see you again, Celine," her cousin Kevin greeted.

Jewel's forehead furrowed because of the attitude of the two. "Did you guys already meet?" She

couldn't help herself but ask.

"Yes," the two answered in unison.

Jewel's forehead furrowed even more.

Later, a small child peeked through the door.

"Storm!" Jewel exclaimed and quickly approached the child then hugged him tightly.

Thunder and Celine's eyes almost popped out in shock.

"Do you know that child, Jewel?" Celine asked

"Yes... H-he is my s-son." She stammered in response.

"Your son?" Thunder repeated in assurance.

Jewel almost fainted because of the happenings. She forgets in her mind that Thunder was here.

"Y-yes, I want you all to meet my son. Storm Kyzer Dawson." She introduced her son and tried to hide

her nervousness.

She held her son's hand tightly to gain strength.

"We badly need to go. Thank you for taking care of my son." She said quickly and turned around. But

before she could walk away, someone grabbed her arm.

"What are you doing? Let her go." Kevin commanded Thunder.

"Who are you?" Thunder countered Kevin.

The two young men start having a staring contest. Jewel stops the two while Celine approaches

Thunder.

"Stop it you two. Don't make a scandal here. He is Kevin, my boyfriend." Jewel introduced Kevin to

them.

Jewel immediately pulled the young man away together with Storm. The two policemen also followed

them.

When they got inside the car, Kevin burst out laughing.

"Why are you laughing, uncle?" Storm suddenly asked

"It's just funny because of your mom, buddy."

Jewel quickly slapped her cousin's arm. She is ashamed of what she said earlier and then her cousin

reminds her.

"Seriously cous, you didn't inform me that you were going to introduce me as your boyfriend so that I

can be able to prepare myself in that situation." Her cousin uttered while smirking. Just making her fall

in annoyance.

"Just shut up, Kevin. Don't remind me of what happened to me, it's annoying."

Jewel leaned back in the car seat. Fortunately, his cousin finally stops teasing her. She massages her

temple due to stress.
