Veronica just came out from the cubicle and was washing her hands.

She took a quick break earlier because her personality couldn't bear the compliments thrown her

way by the madams introduced to her by the Li madam.

The Li madam was very lively introducing her to almost everyone she knew while the Sy madam

was elegantly seated in a corner, and just like an ice queen, sipping on her red wine unbothered by

other people.

After straining her lips from having to smile every time she was being introduced to others due to

social protocol, Veronica asked the Li madam for a call of nature break.

Her reverie was brought back at the present when she heard a clutter beside her. She took a quick

glance at the woman just around the age of her future mother in law.

When her sight crossed with the woman, she nodded towards her out of respect.

However, she could sense the hostility coming from the said woman. This curious and at the same

time made her on-guard.

"So you are Veronica Wang." The woman said in a rather tasteless manner.

Albeit the attitude of the woman, Veronica once again nodded her head. She had always been the

type of person that would give respect to those people who deserve it and wouldn't bother herself to

those who don't deserve her respect. However, since Vanessa brought her here to this fundraising

Seeing the unbothered attitude of the young woman in front of her, Allia Ming starts to get irritated.

Since the arrival of Vanessa Sy, her whole existence has become like a joke in this event. And

witnessing everyone who has to welcome that Vanessa warmly earlier, Allia Ming really took a lot of

self-restraint to maintain a clear expression on her face because she is very much aware that there are

other ladies who would love to see bad changes in her expression and give them something to talk and

"I'm Allia Ming", Allia Ming rather said in a haughty manner.

Veronica nodded her ears perked up because of recognition. After all, she had lived almost two

decades of her life in City I before her family moved out of Country R.

Allia Ming, the most famous outside woman of the great Robert Sy. Not because she's very

beautiful with her feline eyes, straight nose and thin moist lips despite her middle age but because the

said known mistress came from one of the oldest clans in Province I.

Seeing the disinterest from the woman made Allia Ming seethe in extreme hatred. She wanted to

vent her anger out then an idea sparks in her eyes.

Allia Ming changed her expression to a gracious lady of noble origin and as if looking down on

Veronica asked,

"Aren't you the daughter of that esteemed Eduardo Wang? How is your father? Is he alright

through the years? You know, it must be very hard on him. What happened that year is quite the talk of

all people in this City. So is your father still…"

"Miss Ming," Veronica didn't let Allia Ming finish her words not because she's affected but because

she doesn't want to waste her time listening to this childish taunting unexpectedly coming from a lady

of an old, respected clan.

"You are an outsider to what happened that year. And I also believe since you're a lady of a

respected family, your sources of information should have also told you that the case against my father

was dismissed. I don't know why Miss Ming has so much time listening to unfounded and fake

information. My father is doing well. He's healthy, thank you miss Ming for asking. If that is all, then I'll

leave first, the Sy Madam must have been looking for me."

Veronica put emphasis on the Sy Madam which added salt to one of Allia Ming's undeniable

wounds.

When Veronica reached the comfort room's exit, she turned her back and once again said,

"I heard that your son is doing great with the Ming Corporation. Congratulations Miss Ming for

raising such a son."

Veronica's tone is just like talking about the weather but the insult is clear to Allia Ming's hearing.

There is no doubt that Ming Corporation's current predicament is terrible. And her son is being

blamed for this!

Even her own family blames her son!

She was about to retort back when she heard the voice of her most hated person. "It took you so

long. Let's go, I have someone to introduce to you."

Veronica saw her future mother in law and smiled in respect.

The Sy Madam only took a quick glance at the woman inside the comfort room as if the woman

was unknown and irrelevant to her very existence.

It's the same woman who her own husband slept with and had a bastard son with. But for

Vanessa, as long as the power and wealth of the Sy's is in her son, Rawlf, who is the only rightful and

legitimate heir, then everything else is unnecessary.
