Chapter 62 An Honor
“Alright, come over. I’ll send you the address.”
After hanging up the phone, Cordelia sent her location to Elijah. Soon, Elijah arrived.
He got out of the car to come up to Cordelia and tried to hold
her hand.
Cordelia evaded his advance expressionlessly. “Mr. Hansen, please be more serious. We have a lot of
preparations to do today, and I need to focus on work from now on.”
Elijah was initially surprised but then smiled, quickly composing himself.
“Miss Carter, please get in the car
Cordelia gave him a satisfied look and stepped into the car swiftly. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“First, let’s go to my apartment and get the medical kit,” Cordelia instructed.
“Okay.”
Her apartment was nearby, so they didn’t take long to retrieve
the kit.
“Are the people I asked you to prepare ready?” Cordelia inquired.
“They’re ready at any moment,” Elijah replied.
Cordelia nodded and instructed them to go to Eva and wait while they made a stop at the Undernet.
“Where is it?” Elijah asked, never having heard of it before.
“It’s an alternative medicine shop. You drive, and I’ll give you directions.”
Half an hour later, they arrived at a narrow alley and stopped in front of a pharmacy named Inkyard.
From the outside, it looked ordinary, but as soon as they entered the pharmacy, they were greeted with
a sense of ancient history.
Elijah discreetly surveyed the place while Cordelia struck up a conversation with the assistant at the
counter.
“Evie, it’s been a while. Are you here for something big this
time?”
“Yeah, and it’s a bit tricky.” Cordelia pushed open the small door behind the counter and walked inside.
As she was about to enter another door, she suddenly paused.
Turning around, she looked at Elijah and said, “I’m going inside to get some medicine. It might take a
while. Wait here.”
Elijah nodded.
He watched as her beautiful figure disappeared behind the door.
Elijah waited for an hour.
When Cordelia came back, she was holding a huge bag of medicine materials.
The bag was enormous, covering most of her face, only revealing her eyes.
Elijah strode forward and took over the bag of medicine.
The observant assistant noticed Elijah hugging Cordelia’s waist, and he immediately snapped a picture
and sent it to the Undernet group chat, creating an uproar.
This news instantly spread like a plague.
Before Elijah’s car had even left the narrow alley, the entire Undernet knew that Evie, Milo’s apprentice,
had been hugged around the waist by a tall, elegant man.
Cordelia’s phone, buried in her bag, rang incessantly. Elijah frowned and reminded her, “Aren’t you
going to check it?”
Cordelia casually took out her phone, glanced at it, and froze.
She then gave Elijah a peculiar look. “Did you hug my waist when we left just now?”
Elijah raised an eyebrow, thinking back. He replied carelessly, “Maybe. What’s the matter?”
“You’ve gotten me into trouble,” Cordelia said, massaging her temples and looking out of the window
helplessly.
Elijah didn’t understand what she meant, so he asked, “You mentioned the Undernet. Does that refer to
this pharmacy?”
Cordelia shook her head. “Not entirely. This place is a small branch. The Undernet was established by
Milo. It has many branches responsible for different tasks, creating a complete system.”
Elijah understood. It was a professional network within their organization, so he didn’t inquire further.
“So, how does me hugging you connect to all this?” Elijah circled back to his previous question.
Cordelia blushed slightly and said, “They’re all very nosy.”
Elijah understood now. It was similar to celebrity gossip and shipping.
He was in high spirits and flashed a charming smile. “Being rumored with Miss Carter is an honor for
me.”
