WIFE SERIES: THE BATTERED WIFE (ENGLISH VERSION)

CHAPTER 21: WHO MINA SAW

The day counted the week, the week became the month until it took three months but I never received a call from Lele. If I was the one who called her, she didn't answer, until recently I couldn't contact her at all. I didn't feel impatient. I'm just worried about her.

Currently, I can say my life is fine even though I have no news of Tranz. I thought then that I would spend my time sulking, but I was wrong. I spent my time in business. I have a small boutique on the island of Boracay.

Yes, I was spending my days on the island of Boracay. My first plan was to just take a vacation there but when I met a native there and saw their small business I talked to Manang Laura. He taught me to make a bracelet made of shell. In just one week I had a small business, and that's when I decided to talk to Manang Laura. With her help, I found land that could be bought. And accordingly, when there were negotiations, my progress was continuous. But I am not fully okay.

There still nights that I cried because I miss Tranz and I'm thinking about what my son looks like. And most of all I miss my parents. I only called them once. They didn't know what happened to me because I didn't tell them the truth, especially when they were talking I heard them talking to our captain and saying that I had a well and happy family.

I didn't contact them. It is not the time for me to face them.

Would you blame me if I had planned to reconcile with my husband despite his actions and sins? I was raised by my parents who always told me that when I got married, no one should be able to separate the two people God has bound together.

I believed what they say especially I grew up and saw how perfect our family was.

I want to be like them, just like my whole family, but it is difficult when you who want to build a perfect family are gradually breaking into pieces because of your husband.

When I got off the plane and my foot landed on the cement of the airport I closed my eyes.

I am in Manila to buy raw materials for the clothing products that I designed myself. I didn't know then that I had a talent for designing clothes.

I'll be staying in Manila for a while. The next day I will return to Boracay to start my new designs.

I went straight to the hotel so that I could rest for a while before I have to deal with the traffic here in the city. I took a nap at the hotel.

When I woke up, I cleaned myself before going down to the restaurant on the first floor of this hotel. I ordered a light meal before I went to the mall where I would pick up the fabrics and bling-blings that will be used in making my product like the bracelet and necklace.

It was afternoon when I finished shopping so I still had time to go for a walk. Fortunately, Mang Laura's granddaughter lives in Guadalupe so she helped me with the shopping.

I went to Luneta Park.

My hope for a happy outing turned into a sad scene when I saw a happy family having a good time. I smiled bitterly as I watched them.

I spent my time hanging out in a park. Late in the afternoon, I decided to go back to the hotel.

Just like earlier, I ate at the hotel restaurant. I was in the middle of my early dinner when the news on the TV caught my attention.

It was Lele.

It was interviewed by a famous talk show host. I was mesmerized by her beauty especially it's just been a few months that we hadn't met, yet her looks changed a lot. She became more beautiful even though she looked mature. The host was asking her about his rumored boyfriend. And when she was asked when they would get married, Lele answered soon... I smiled because for me, Lele and Michael, her British National boyfriend, fit each other. Even if I say that my love story didn't turn out well, I never dreamed that what happened to me would happen to others.

I was finishing my food when someone approached me.

"T-Tricia," I was shocked when I mentioned her name. She hugged me right away. There was a look of joy on her face. "Sit down, but I'm about to finish my food."

"Where have you been? It's been a while. You're skin a bit darker but you look stunning. Your skin color suits you better. Where have you been all this time?"

I was the one who had a hard time with her because of her speed of speaking.

"In Boracay..." Even I was surprised that I told her the truth. But I think she was even more surprised when I answered her.

Her eyes are getting bigger and soon there's a big smile plastered on her face. "That brother of mine is crazy. That's why he's staying on that island because you're there. Are you together?"

My eyebrows met because of what she said. "Huh? Is it S-Seth? N-no. I haven't seen him even once in Boracay..."

"Really? That's amazing. As far as I know, especially with that my brother's attitude, he's not the type to take a place far from civilization for no reason."

Not knowing what to say to her, I nodded. I just drank water before standing up. She looked at me in surprise but she also stood up. "Are you leaving?"Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"Yeah. I'm tired. I've done a lot this day so I need to rest early. "

"Is that so? Sure." She smiled awkwardly. "I hope we can talk so we can tell you the truth."

I wanted to ask what she meant but I just didn't. My life is quiet so I don't want it to be messy again.

But my quiet life suddenly shook again because when I got out of the elevator I saw two people I didn't expect to see here.
