You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 927: Endurance

Elijah let out a soft hum, saying, “You keep sleeping.”

Freya leaned on his shoulder, “I was woken up and now can’t fall asleep. Can you let me down?”

He remained silent and lowered his gaze.

Freya shyly buried her face in his embrace.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Back in the country.

Night there, but daytime here.

Luna was playing outside with Star in her arms.

She was drawn to colorful toys, her gaze following them intently. The brighter the colors, the more they captivated her.

Her eyes wandered around.

Occasionally, she would pout her lips.

A few white baby teeth had started to show, and she would drool when smiling, possibly due to teething.

Luna wiped her mouth and dressed her in a cotton bib, changing it immediately if wet, to prevent her delicate facial skin from getting red and irritated.

She was cautious and attentive in caring for Star, who was gradually putting on weight under her care.

Her small face was chubby and pure white, adorably lovely.

Vivian woke up to find the kitchen empty, with nothing to eat.

Her expression turned sour.

However, she did not complain about being hungry.

Instead, she asked Luna, “Have you eaten?”

Luna replied, “I have.”

“What about me?” She immediately asked.

Luna said, “Mr. Russo asked me to take care of Star, not to be a cook. So, how does it concern me whether you have food or not?”

Vivian was taken aback.

Her face flushed.

She couldn’t speak for a while.

“Since you’re already cooking, might as well cook for me too. I didn’t ask, but you should do it!” Vivian struggled to find a reason, “I just thought you could do a bit more.”

Luna said, “I’m not used to doing extra. You’re responsible for cleaning from now on!”

Vivian widened her eyes, “What did you say?”

“Aren’t you here to help with household chores?” Luna didn’t expect Vivian to be so strange, steering clear of her since she was brought by Orion.

But this woman was too bizarre.

Her reasoning and thinking were completely off-kilter.

Not only was she unhelpful, but she also caused chaos.

She didn’t want Star to have such a confused person around.

Orion was not around, and Luna wanted to spend quality time with Star.

Vivian’s mouth twitched, realizing Luna had changed.

She used to be accommodating.

But now, it seemed she couldn’t be easily controlled.

“You…”

“Don’t throw a tantrum, or I’ll tell Mr. Russo. You’ll be the one at a loss in the end.” Luna cut her off quickly.

Vivian was left speechless, trembling with anger.

“You’re just a caretaker, how dare you treat me like this.” Vivian was outraged, unwilling to back down, “Watch me complain to Mr. Russo.”

As she reached for her phone to make the call, Luna remained unfazed.

Let her make the call if she wanted.

But it seemed luck was not on her side, unable to connect the call.

This infuriated her.

Luna carried Star away from her, disregarding the irrational woman.

Such a woman was simply sick in the head.

Even her basic morals were askew.

“Kelsey Silverton, just wait!” Vivian turned back into the room, not bothering to cook. She was no longer hungry and perhaps had her fill of anger.

Throughout the day, Luna stayed close to Star, hardly leaving her side.

Today, she sensed Vivian was upset and feared for Star’s safety, so she stayed vigilant.

Only taking a brief bathroom break, Vivian seized the opportunity.

Luna came out of the bathroom to find Star missing from the crib.

She immediately went to look for Vivian.

But she was nowhere to be found.

Checking the house’s surveillance, Luna discovered it had been tampered with, capturing nothing.

She was both anxious and enraged.

Despite that, she maintained her composure, alerting the authorities before calling Orion.

Clutching her phone, Luna quickly said, “Star is gone, it might be Vivian who took her. Can you reach her now?”

Orion’s mind buzzed.

He nearly cursed on the spot.

But he held back.

Luna would never put Star in harm’s way intentionally.

She was Star’s mother.

Regardless of their past, their love for Star was unwavering.

Taking a deep breath, he replied, “Are you saying Vivian took Star?”

“Yes, she’s been acting strange all day,” Luna affirmed, having sensed Vivian’s intentions.

She wasn’t making baseless accusations.

As a former forensic doctor, she had a keen eye for detail and confidence in her assessments.

Despite her caution, she reproached herself for not being more vigilant, aware of Vivian’s potential threat.

“I understand.” Orion ended the call. He hurried back while also trying to contact Vivian.

He knew how to find people.

“Where are you?” Orion didn’t want to tip his hand.

At that moment, Vivian was placing Star in her home, aiming to frame Luna for negligence in taking care of Star.

That way, Orion would dismiss Luna, freeing Vivian of any interference.

She had no intention of harming Star.

Because she didn’t dare.

She knew how much Orion cared for Star.

So, she made sure to have someone look after her.

Receiving Orion’s call, she remained composed, neither blushing nor faltering as she lied, “I’m at your house, cleaning up.”

Orion narrowed his eyes, “Is that so?”

“Yeah!” Vivian confidently replied.

She only dared to be so brazen because she knew Orion was not there.

Suddenly, Star’s cries could be heard.

The sound reached Orion’s ears.

He tightly gripped his phone, trying not to provoke Vivian.

Star was now in Vivian’s hands.

If he exposed her, she might do something rash that could harm Star.

“I’d like to see Star,” he said, “You’ve been doing well these days. I’m planning to give you a raise.”

Orion comforted Vivian.

She smiled happily, but what she desired was not a pay increase. She wanted to be Mrs. Shen.

“Mr. Russo, you’re too kind. It’s my duty to take care of Star. You can rest assured that I will do my best to look after her and manage the household.”

She left the room to put Star to bed.

Vivian had to rush back, making sure Luna didn’t discover her return.

Little did she know, Luna had already noticed.

Ending the call, Orion instructed his men to locate Vivian’s address.

She would most likely take Star to her own home as she wouldn’t dare harm her.

Arriving back at the villa, Vivian saw police officers there.

Unaware of the situation, she asked Luna, “What’s happened?”

Luna, clenching her fist by her side, struggled to control the urge to slap her, “Where did you go?”

“I went out for dinner. Is that not allowed?” Vivian innocently replied.
