Chapter 941: Are You Qualified?
Luna picked up her chopsticks, clamped noodles and brought them to her mouth, but she couldn’t taste anything.
Orion saw her only eating noodles, so he picked up the tomato and egg stir-fry and poured it into her bowl. “Mix it and eat. Did you not realize there’s no salt in the noodles you cooked?”
Luna lowered her eyes, but she couldn’t swallow.
She took a deep breath, but her heart was still unsettled.
Mixed feelings, turmoil.
“I’m not hungry, you eat.”
She put down her chopsticks and stood up.
Orion frowned, asking, “Did I make you uncomfortable?”
Luna shook her head quickly, “No.”
Orion continued, “If it’s not me making you uncomfortable, then why aren’t you eating? Or is it that I’ve spoiled your appetite? Can’t eat when you see me?”
“You know, that’s not what I meant.” Luna stared at him in surprise, seemingly shocked by his words.
Orion continued to eat his noodles without looking up, “Since it’s not what you meant, then sit down and eat properly.”
Luna clenched her lips tightly, unable to speak for a long time.
After a moment of silence, she sat down slowly, her voice hoarse as she asked, “Why are you making things difficult for me?”
Orion lowered his head and ate the noodles bite by bite. Finally, he picked up the bowl, drank the soup, then put down the bowl and chopsticks before looking up at Luna.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
He still didn’t say a word, just watched her like that in silence.
Being uncomfortable under his gaze, Luna handed him a tissue, “Go look at the stars, I’ll tidy up here.”
She tried to break the silence of the moment.
Orion took the tissue she handed him and wiped his mouth.
But instead of leaving, he said, “The stars are asleep. I’ll go check on her, and I might wake her up.”
Luna said, “Then go take a shower and sleep.”
“Do you think I sleep well?” Orion asked in a calm tone.
Pressing down her temper, Luna said, “Then what do you want?”
Orion looked at her with a peaceful tone, “Are you angry?”
Clasping her hands tightly, Luna took another deep breath, “Sorry, I’m not mad at you.”
Orion asked, “Not at me, then who? Is there another person in the room?”
As soon as he said this, it dawned on him, “Oh, right, we’re not the only ones here in the room, there’s also Star.”
He looked at Luna and asked, “Who is Star?”
Luna looked at him in silence.
Orion smiled, “Your daughter, our daughter, she is our child. We are a family of three, but she only calls me Dad, she can’t call you Mom. Luna, doesn’t that make you feel bad? Can you really bear to see Star without a mother?”
Luna stood up and left, choosing to avoid it all!
She didn’t know how to answer Orion?
She had no stance on this matter.
Orion didn’t continue to pressure her.
He just got up to clear the table.
He poured out the noodles Luna hadn’t eaten, then cleaned the table and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.
Hearing the commotion behind her, Luna stopped in her tracks, turned around, and saw him bending down to wash the dishes in the sink.
Luna’s emotions were in turmoil.
“Orion, I…” she hesitated.
There were a lot of things she couldn’t say.
“Don’t push me.”
With that, she turned and went back to her room.
Orion’s back stiffened.
Soon he regained his composure.
…
In the ski resort known as the Ice City of Glaciers in Switzerland, everything was white as far as the eye could see.
The mountains were high, and the snow was thick.
Kai wore a blue and white ski suit, a hat on his head, sunglasses covering his face so his features were almost invisible. He held ski poles in his hands and wore skis on his feet, being taught skiing techniques in the practice area by a professional instructor.
Kai was very focused on learning.
Freya didn’t know how to ski, but she was being taught by Elijah himself.
He taught her the basics and the proper posture for skiing.
Freya was a smart person and learned quickly. She was able to ski on her own in about an hour, although she wasn’t as good as others yet.
But with Elijah by her side, she didn’t fall.
Morton was there too, but he was too young to ski, so he could only play in the children’s area of the ski resort.
Taking the cable car to the mountaintop and overlooking the many small mountains gave a surreal feeling.
The perpetual snow of the mountains and the modern glacier formations hanging on the cliffs took on various shapes and shades of green under the sunlight, giving a sense of grandeur, ruggedness, and purity.
Freya marveled at the wonders of nature.
Standing on the mountaintop felt like standing on a cloud, overlooking a fairyland.
She leaned on Elijah’s shoulder, “It’s so beautiful here.”
Elijah looked at her, “We can stay here for a few more days.”
Freya didn’t mind how long they stayed there, but she was worried about the two children, as it was quite cold there.
Elijah was confident, “Your son definitely isn’t afraid of the cold.”
Freya didn’t believe it, “How do you know that?”
Elijah pointed not far away, “Look.”
They could see the practice area.
And there they saw Kai learning diligently.
Freya smiled, “It seems he likes sports, he learned shooting before, and now he seems to be very interested in skiing.”
Boys probably just like these things.
She looked up at Elijah, “Let’s stay here for a few more days?”
Elijah said, “Okay.”
…
Luna thought for a long time and struggled with her thoughts for a long time!
In the end, she decided to leave, even though she couldn’t bear to leave Star.
But facing the pressure from Orion was overwhelming.
Her inner turmoil and hesitation kept her awake at night.
It was too agonizing.
She didn’t want to burden Orion, nor did she want to put too much pressure on herself.
So she left a note, ready to leave, but it seemed like Orion knew she would resort to this, as he was at the door when she was about to leave, calmly asking her, “Have you made up your mind?”
Luna looked at him in surprise.
Orion said, “We’ve been through a lot together. How could I not understand your nature?”
He felt painful and lost inside, “If you can leave me, I understand. If you can even leave Star, what else can I use to keep you?”
Luna looked down, silent.
With a bitter smile, Orion said, “It seems I can’t win you back.”
He turned his back, “If you leave, do you think you’ll be okay? I can wish you happiness too.”
He went into Luna’s room, took the note she left, tore it up, and threw it in the trash.
Wah-wah-
Suddenly, Star started crying.
Her grandmother’s crying.
Maybe she knew her mother was about to leave.
She cried in great sadness.
It tore at the hearts of people.
Orion went to pick up Star, took her to the sofa in the living room.
Star was still crying.
Luna clenched her bag, “Comfort her.”
Orion said, “She is my daughter. I can take care of her the way I see fit.”
His gaze turned to her, “Are you telling me what to do? On what grounds? As Star’s mother or as a child-rearing professional?”
