You Are My One and Only

Chapter 298

Chapter 298

Isaac sat up, gently stroked his face with his hands, and turned his attention to the two boys. "I love your mommy a lot. Please believe me for once. I promise that I will never let her be sad." Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Scott and Stellan exchanged glances with their mother before Scott remarked in a cold tone, "To earn our trust, you must marry her."

When the subject of marriage was brought up, Isaac's eyes moved subtly. He intended to conceal their relationship from Philip, who wasn't in good health. Furthermore, he was concerned that Philip might become enraged and then… Although he shuddered at the thought of the worst-case scenario, he wouldn't allow anything to happen to his grandpa.

When the boys saw how Isaac dithered, they snickered. "If you can't marry her, don't try to flirt with her. You can't afford to mess with her feelings."

Their mother was far too benevolent and naive. How could she not be wary of matters involving men and women?

Seeing their reaction, Patricia was surprised and cast a sidelong glance at Isaac to see if he had ever considered proposing to her. Her heart sank a little, but she knew that with his social standing, he should marry someone more suitable for him than a single mother. The very thought of it made her feel inadequate, and she had an overwhelming urge to withdraw into a cocoon.

At that moment, Scott reminded her. "It's 8.15AM now. You're going to be late for work."

When she heard that, Patricia turned around, gingerly put on her slippers, and headed for the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Sylvie and Isaac engaged in conversation. "Mr. Arnold, could you please move in soon? Tricia will get scared if she sleeps alone. I will have no reason to worry if you stay with her."

He was amused by her words and reached out to pet her head. "Okay! I think she needs company too."

Sylvie was a caring daughter whom he adored. After his marriage to Patricia, her three children would become his, and he would be overjoyed to have a cute little girl like her in the family.

With a firm grip on her hand, Stellan urged, "Come on, Sylvie. Let's go downstairs for breakfast!"

On the contrary, she was quite hungry and said, "OK! Mr. Arnold, change your clothes and join us for breakfast!"

Conversely, Scott glared at Isaac and cautioned, "Isaac, please leave. You are prohibited from entering our house again." His gaze was threatening and provoking, as if he would be killed if he ever set foot in their home again.

Isaac furrowed his brow, amazed that a young boy in such a small frame could match or even surpass his aura. With him by her side, Patricia was adequately protected.

With a chuckle, Isaac replied, "Scott, in this lifetime, I will only love Patricia, and that won't ever change. It's only a matter of time before we get married, and I'm up for any challenges you can throw my way." His words came from the depths of his heart, and he meant every word of his promise to throw her a

spectacular wedding even though he couldn't do it any time soon.

Without saying a word, Scott rolled his eyes before he turned around and walked away.

Isaac knew that this kid wasn't foolish. If Patricia could marry someone she liked, they would not object. They didn't trust him after he lied to them in the past, so they avoided him out of fear that their mother would be bullied by him.

Meanwhile, at the Aniston Residence, Adeline had just woken up. She was dressed in silk pajamas and appeared relaxed as she combed her hair, got out of bed, and made her way to Gwen's room.

Gwen was seated in front of her dressing table when she noticed her daughter, and she turned around. "Honey, are you awake? Did you have a good time last night?"

Adeline yawned, and even though it was past 10.00AM, she was still very sleepy. However, when she recalled what had occurred the previous evening, she became furious and hoped Patricia would be killed.

"Mom, don't even mention it. I was so ashamed last night. My friends will no longer ask me out."

Children from wealthy families had complicated relations. Gwen was also ostracized by people from her circle recently due to Isaac calling off the wedding. Even the members of the Aniston Family started giving her the cold shoulder.

"I'm going to meet Uncle George later. He knows an assassin, and as long as we hire him, everything will be fine again."
