Leaning back, Lorrie appeared nonchalant. "And why would I regret it?"

"Because without Cerebleu, Lawson Enterprises' advancement in the chip industry will be limited."

Lorrie nearly burst out laughing. "You say that so casually. While I agree Cerebleu is formidable, it's not as if our progress relies solely on it."

Pearl remained confident. "You'll find out soon enough if that's true." Standing up, she added, "There are other players in the chip industry besides Lawson Enterprises."

Lorrie's smile faded. "Of course, I'm aware. But as of now, you haven't secured another partner."

Pearl suddenly turned to face Lorrie, showing no signs of fear. "Do I seem scared to you?"

Lorrie felt annoyed. She disliked Pearl's air of unwavering certainty as though victory was assured without effort. "Don't celebrate too soon, Pearl. Overconfidence isn't a virtue."

Pearl chuckled. "Rest assured, two years ago you couldn't affect me, and it's no different now."

Lorrie widened her eyes in disbelief. "How dare you!"

"How should I address you, Lorrie, or... Jenny?"

Lorrie tightened her grip on the armrest, keeping her composure. "What are you talking about? I've told you I'm not the person you think I am."

Pearl shrugged. "You're the only one who knows that. I'm not in a hurry to expose you. After all, exposing you means nothing to me. Since you're not willing to cooperate with us, let's just cancel the partnership." With that, she turned and left.

As she reached the door, Lorrie suddenly shouted, "Pearl!"

Pearl turned back, looking at her. "How can I help you?"
