"Didn't you hear how your wife called me? I'm Lorrie." Then, Lorrie fixed her hair and slowly reached out her hand. "Nice to meet you."

But Richard didn't shake hands with her. He just looked at her hand and said calmly, "You have a small black mole on your right forefinger."

Lorrie flinched. She didn't think he would remember something like that about her after so many years. It made her feel excited.

"Mister Richard, you're quite observant. Aren't you afraid your wife might get jealous?"

Lorrie said this to make them both feel uncomfortable, and as expected, their faces changed.

But Pearl didn't feel uncomfortable because of jealousy. She just felt sorry for Lorrie.

"So, why did you come back?" Richard watched Lorrie closely, as if trying to read her face. He felt she was up to something against Pearl, but he couldn't just accuse her.

"I don't know what you mean." Lorrie wouldn't admit it, even though Richard knew who she really was. Even so, she still had some feelings when she saw him again after so long.

Then, she walked away without looking back.

She had only one thing on her mind with this return. She wanted them both to suffer. Nothing else mattered to her now.

After Lorrie left, Richard turned to Pearl. "That's Jenny, right?"

Pearl nodded.

"When did you know?"

Pearl felt mixed emotions. "She caused a scene at the last book signing."

Richard was upset to hear this. "Were you hurt?"

His concern made Pearl feel warm. She shook her head. "I'm okay. She might have paid a man to cause trouble, then acted nice to solve it."

Richard was filled with worry. He thought Jenny was planning something. And she was targeting them both.

"If she approaches you alone again, you have to tell me."

Pearl smiled, trying to ease his worry. "Okay, don't stress too much. I'll be alright."

"I know you can take care of yourself, but I'm worried about her. She can be vicious."
