Chapter 282 Sage witnessed the chaotic scene out of her office as she quickly wrapped up her meeting. She stood aside to avoid getting hurt. Hunter wanted to stop them but Sage signaled him otherwise. Braxton deserved it. He shouldn’t have challenged the young ones. She didn’t care, as long as her staff had the upper hand.
Braxton, on the other hand, was suffering ! He never expected these young staff to lay their hands on the chairman.
Weren’t they worried about getting fired? Braxton had never been this speechless in his entire life.
He was getting beaten up laying down on the floor and he that felt his bones were about to break, yet it seemed like they did not plan on stopping anytime. He was in so much pain but couldn’t do anything about it.
He heard footsteps coming near him. A pair of black stilettos was seen at his eye level. He looked up and saw Sage in a full black suit, and she had a gold belt on her waist. She looked stunning today.
Sage stood there looking down on him – cold and distant. Braxton couldn’t be bothered to read her expressions and reached out to her for mercy, “My dear niece!”
He yelled as if he saw his savior. Hunter and Finn both stood behind Sage. They let out a displeased look as they saw Braxton on the floor. When Sage appeared, the assistants stopped hitting him and bowed at Sage, “Miss Norah.” They didn’t need to explain as Sage saw the slap marks on her assistant’s face. Braxton leaned on her leg and screamed, “Sage, please help, your assistants are about to murder me!” . Sage unfazed, “Uncle Braxton, why do you say so?” “L…” Braxton felt exhausted having his head up talking to Sage. He yelled at Hunter and Finn,” What are you two idiots waiting for? Come help me get up!” “Oh,” both Hunter and Finn controlled their laughter as they helped Braxton up.
When they let go, Braxton almost fell face first onto the ground again.
He was in so much pain, his bones were frail and brittle for never once having to lift his finger. Braxton held his waist and gritted his teeth. He glared at Finn, “Help me retrieve my glasses!” Braxton tried to show his authority again. Finn finally saw his glasses under a chair. One of the lenses was shattered to pieces.
He tried to put it on, and one of the temples was broken as well. He looked extremely funny with the glasses on and everyone started laughing at him.
“What are you guys laughing at? Do you want to get fired?” Braxton had completely lost his status, he pointed at all of the assistants and ordered his secretary. “Jot down their names, I want them gone immediately!”
His secretary nodded, but none of them moved an inch as if he didn’t say anything. Sage said lightly, “Uncle, why are you firing them when they did nothing wrong?” “Nothing wrong?” Braxton’s eyes almost popped out, he pointed at himself, “Look at me, does it look like they did nothing wrong?” He turned to the assistants and pointed at them angrily, “They beat up their chairman! How could I just let it go?”
“You could,” Sage said. “My assistants are paid at least a million dollars annually. You don’t have to worry about me, I’m doing just fine.”
Braxton was dumbstruck by Sage’s words. He couldn’t believe his ears, “These people, you’re paying them a million dollars a year? How do you justify their payment?” Her assistants kept quiet and had a cold expression on just like Sage.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
