“These two on my left are my executive assistants , Cora and Louis. Cora is currently a Ph.D. undergrad at Salem Public University. The young man you slapped is Louis Trey, and he’s currently in charge of our company’s projects overseas. He’s an MPA and MBA graduate from Stanfort University.” She added, “Oh yes, he’s an avid MMA fighter during his pastimes. Actually, he’s an MMA champion.”

Braxton gulped. He started to look sheepish. He took a mental note to undergo a full body checkup later on, to make sure he’s alright. He was just beaten up by an MMA fighter! Braxton had the worst luck. He thought he picked on a soft one to slap. How did he end up slapping an MMA champion?! Sage introduced him to her personal assistants, both of them graduated from Ivy League schools, and they were all highly capable. Braxton felt like a small fry compared to them. As Sage finished introducing her staff, she looked him in the eye and asked, “What about you, uncle?”

What she meant was that they were deserving of their salaries based on their curriculum vitae and capability. What did the chairman bring to the table?

Braxton’s sweat seeped out of his forehead, and he realized Sage was distracting him.

“Sage, don’t go out of the topic. I don’t care about their education and experiences. How could they hit the chairman as the staff of Norah Group? They must go today!” Braxton felt like he regained his authority once he abused his power once again. Sage looked at him coldly. She couldn’t be bothered with him, but he kept on insisting on such silly things. “Didn’t you hit them first?” Braxton’s eyes widened, “So what if I did? They can’t hit me!” He was being unreasonable. Sage sighed and hazily raised her eyelids, “Uncle, you’re being unreasonable. When you hit someone first, you’re wrong, they hit you out of self-defense.” Braxton was speechless. He repeated, “I’m the chairman!” “Hmm,” Sage seemed like she finally got what he meant. She shook her head, “I’m so sorry to inform you that you’re

no longer our chairman.” “What do you mean?” Braxton didn’t get it the first time. Sage calmly said, “I’ve been back for some time now. I felt rather bad for kicking you out immediately when I just came back. Now that I’ve finally gotten around to handover your work to someone else, you can happily retire and enjoy your life.” She added, “It must have been exhausting dancing around like a clown all these years. Go home, get healed. Your daughter’s wedding is coming up.” She ordered Louis, “You’re in charge of this. Take Braxton through the resignation process later at the personnel department.” “Yes, Miss Sage.” Louis walked up to Braxton and said, “This way please.” Braxton was completely dumbfounded. “Wait, what’s happening?” At first, Braxton intended to fire her assistants, why was he getting fired now? He stared at Sage unbelievably, “You want me to retire?”

Sage shook her head, “No, the retirement scheme is for people who contributed to Norah Group during their time. Uncle, what have you contributed in all these years for Norah Group?”

Braxton felt like he had just been slapped, his face turned red and hot from that comment. “You mean I don’t deserve retirement?” Sage smiled, “Yes, that’s what I meant.”.

Braxton was humiliated by Sage in front of the entire company’s higher management, “How dare you!” He raised his arms to hit Sage, but before he could lay a finger on her, Louis grabbed his wrist and threw him on the floor over the shoulders. With a loud crack, Braxton’s back was completely broken now.
