A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 840: Bullying

Benedict had once asked her if she wanted help finding her biological parents, but Ranita refused. Her biological parents had abandoned her, which meant they didn’t want her. Rather than seeking them out and getting hurt again, she preferred to let it go.

“Mom, I understand,” Ranita sighed quietly. “Ayaan and I miss you both very much.”

Alexia smiled happily. “We miss you and Ayaan too. Come back soon, I’ll make the soup you both love.”

Ranita’s mood instantly improved. “Thank you, Mom!” As she finished speaking, Eve was already calling her. “Ranita, are you done with your call? Come over quickly…”

“Mom, I have to go now,” Ranita said with a smile, then jogged back to the living room, feeling very happy to join the gathering.

Everything went smoothly, and Ranita had a good night’s sleep.

However, the next day, she was awakened by an urgent ringing. The call was from Jedidiah, informing her that Alexia had an accident!

Hearing the news, Ranita hurried to the airport with Ayaan. Fortunately, there were many flights from Kurima to Steland, so they could change their tickets last minute. However, there were no seats left in the VIP section, so they had to switch to economy class.

While anxiously waiting to board, she suddenly heard a surprised voice behind her. “Ranita?”

Ranita turned around and saw Lily, dressed in designer brands, along with a somewhat familiar female classmate.

“It really is you?” Lily looked down at Ranita and Ayaan with a smirk. “Ranita, is this your son?”

“Is there something you need?” Ranita asked coldly, frowning.

Lily pretended not to notice and whispered to the classmate beside her. “Diana, did you see? This is our once-excellent school beauty, now struggling alone with her son waiting for a flight. How pathetic.”NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

Diana Heath immediately laughed along. “Indeed, it’s quite pathetic. Not everyone can build a career like you.”

“Lily, let’s not bother with her. What if she clings to us?”

Ranita finally remembered that Diana Heath was also a former classmate who didn’t like her much.

“Ranita, we’ll be going now. Take your time waiting,” Lily said as she and Diana walked past with their chins held high into the VIP lounge.

Ranita felt slightly speechless.

Fortunately, the boarding announcement came on. Ranita eagerly took Ayaan and queued up to board.

Ranita rushed Ayaan straight to the hospital.

Alexia had already finished emergency treatment and was moved to a ward. Outside the ward, Ranita saw Chole.

“Slap!” Chole raised her hand and slapped Ranita across the face. “Ranita, you jinx! Why did you even come back!”

Ranita was caught off guard and took the hit directly. Her cheek burned with pain.

“Don’t bully my mom!” Ayaan was furious. He used his small chubby hands to hit Chole’s leg hard, but Chole was in a rage and pushed him away forcefully.

“Ayaan!” Ranita quickly pulled her child back. “Chole, are you crazy? He’s just a child!”

“Ayaan, are you okay?” Ranita touched Ayaan’s head and hid him behind her. “Chole, if you have something against me, come at me. If you dare touch Ayaan again, don’t blame me for being rude!”

“Fine! Come at me!” Chole snarled through gritted teeth. “Ranita, if it weren’t for you, Mom wouldn’t have gone out early to buy groceries and wouldn’t have been hit! If anything happens to Mom, I won’t forgive you!”
