A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 849: Blind Date

“They are not unreasonable people, give them some time,” Ranita stammered, her chin held by Brendon.

The man leaned in closer, scrutinizing her face for a while before saying softly, “Are you hiding something from me?”

“No!” Ranita shook her head, looking innocent. “I have nothing to hide from you, don’t overthink it!”

“Why didn’t you wake me up when you left today?”

Brendon, diverted by the question, pinched her nose and said, “You were sleeping soundly, so I didn’t wake you.”

“Did you sleep well last night?”

With someone to rely on, of course she slept well.

Ranita smiled at Brendon without saying a word.

“Did you?” Brendon asked again, his hand gently rubbing her waist with tender affection.

Ranita giggled and leaned against him, nodding softly, “Very well!”

Brendon nodded in satisfaction, his mood lifted by Ranita’s smile. He said, “That’s good! It wasn’t in vain that I endured so much last night.”

Ranita’s face turned red, and she looked at him eagerly.

“I should go back.”

Brendon immediately leaned in to kiss her cheek, “Are you really not going to introduce me to your mom?”

“I seriously suggest you don’t meet her now.” Alexia was still angry, and Brendon showing up would be like a moth flying into the flame.

Brendon seemed to understand and said regretfully, “Alright then.”

“I’ll wait outside for you and Ayaan.”

Ranita still refused him.

The result was a flurry of kisses that made her whimper like a kitten, her ears filled with her own sweet voice.

Ranita stayed until almost noon before leaving.

Alexia introduced the remaining blind date candidates one by one, enthusiastically saying that if none of them were suitable, there would be a second and third wave until Ranita found someone she liked.

Ranita left not because it was time to eat but because Alexia had arranged a coffee date with an elite man at 2 PM and told her to take the child home and get ready. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Ranita was forced to go home, ditching Brendon in the process.

At 2 PM sharp, Ranita arrived at the coffee shop and immediately spotted the elite man waiting for her. He was dressed in a suit and looked proper.

Not very handsome, but his features were decent.

“Hello, you must be Ranita, Miss Bowman? I’m Nathan Foster, I work in finance.”

Nathan Foster introduced himself confidently and continued, “I’ve got a rough idea of your situation. You’re divorced with a three-year-old son and work as a multilingual translator.”

No need to say more; everyone understood the essentials.

“Miss Bowman, you’re very beautiful. I’m quite interested in you. What do you think?” Nathan Foster got straight to the point.

Ranita: …

She was about to refuse when Brendon’s deep, displeased voice sounded above her, “Baby, you came out for coffee without telling me. I could have just brought it to you!”

Brendon?

Ranita was startled. “What are you doing here?”

She whispered to him, “Don’t call me that!”

“And who is this?” Nathan Foster’s eyes were fixed on Brendon.

“I’m her child’s father,” Brendon replied calmly, meeting Nathan’s gaze. The competition between men often happens in an instant; it’s like they are naturally equipped to assess each other.

In that moment of comparison, the winner was clear.
