A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 848: Reputation

“When do you have time? Let’s arrange to have coffee or a meal with each of them.”

Ranita almost choked on her water. “Mom, didn’t I tell you I don’t need this? Why are you…”

Alexia waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t say such silly things!”

“Bring me the bag.” Before Alexia was bumped, she had placed the photos in her bag, which was still here.

Alexia opened the bag and took out a stack of photos. “I carefully selected these. Look at this one, isn’t he handsome? He’s an executive at a financial company, graduated from Stanford, and he’s thirty-three this year!”

“And this one… he’s the young master of the Vega family from the east side of the city. He’s into arts but has a good personality and is very kind. He will definitely treat Ayaan well.”

Alexia flipped to another photo of a man in a suit with slicked-back hair and glasses, looking slightly greasy. She praised him enthusiastically: “This is the eldest son of the Newman family. He’s currently helping with the family business and is said to be a good person. He also has a brother named Gerardo… he has visited our house before.”

Gerardo? His brother?

This matchmaking is really chaotic!

“Mom…” Ranita gently reminded, “I actually don’t want to go on blind dates, so maybe you shouldn’t…”

Before she could finish, Alexia sternly shoved the photos into her hand. “You shut up! I’m telling you, you must pick one this time and settle down quickly, or I won’t rest in peace.”

Ranita was left speechless.

“Take the photos. The contact information is on the back. If you like any of them, reach out and arrange to meet.” Alexia said meaningfully and patted Ranita’s hand. “Ranita, Mom really wants you to be happy.”

“Mom… if you want me to…” Ranita paused and then compromised, “I understand. I’ll take a good look when I have time.”

“Good, good! It’s great that you understand!” Alexia was overjoyed at her agreement. “Mom didn’t raise you for nothing! If only Chole could worry me less!”Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Ranita bit her lip and looked down without speaking.

After staying for a while, Ranita found an excuse to get some fresh air. As soon as she stepped out, someone grabbed her. Surprised, she asked, “What are you doing here?”

Brendon pulled her into the fire escape and cornered her against the wall. “I’m here to visit a patient!”

“How’s your mother?”

Ranita nodded. “She’s doing well.”

Well enough to set her up on blind dates, isn’t that energetic?

“That’s good!” Brendon exhaled towards her face, making her pores feel like they were suddenly scalded. She tried to move back but was pulled into his arms.

“Take me to meet your mom?” Brendon coaxed softly.

Ranita’s ears turned slightly red. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but Alexia would probably scold her to death if she found out.

“You know your reputation with the Bowman family isn’t particularly good, right?” Ranita tested.

“Hmm?”

“My parents don’t really appreciate your type,” Ranita said tactfully. Brendon’s expression darkened immediately. “What should we do then?”

What can we do!

This man brought it upon himself. Just Ayaan alone had already infuriated them! How could they easily forgive him?

“Maybe later, after I’ve communicated with them more…” Ranita felt extremely guilty holding a stack of blind date photos.
