A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 874: Candy

“Mummy, I can’t wait! I want to play with my little brother and sister!” Ayaan said softly, gesturing excitedly. “I can help you make a little bed for them.”

Ranita covered his mouth. “Ayaan, there’s no little brother or sister!”

“Why are you so free today?”

“Oh… I don’t feel like studying today. I want you to have a little brother or sister for me,” Ayaan pouted, saying sadly, “I feel so lonely by myself!”

Ranita patted his head. “Daddy was just teasing you. Mummy and Daddy aren’t together yet, so we can’t have a little brother or sister.”

“Oh…” Ayaan blinked. “So you two aren’t married?”

“No!” Ranita comforted her son. “So can you play by yourself for a bit? Mommy has something to do.”

“Okay! Can you help me call Dr. Pearson, Mommy? It’s been so long since I talked to Dr. Pearson. Maybe Dr. Pearson doesn’t like me anymore…”

Ayaan really missed Steve Pearson.

He had seen Steve Pearson the most since he was little, but suddenly Steve Pearson was gone, leaving Ayaan feeling very lost.

Even Brendan’s appearance couldn’t make up for it.

“Ayaan, I’m also waiting for Dr. Pearson’s call. Do you know Dr. Pearson is a doctor? He’s working hard somewhere saving people. He’s the greatest hero, you know?”

Ranita entrusted Allen to find out news about Steve Pearson, but there has been no news yet.

“Ayaan knows! Dr. Pearson is amazing! So I’ll keep waiting for him.”

“But Mommy, you have to tell Dr. Pearson that Ayaan is waiting for him and he must call me.”

Ranita smiled. “Alright! I got it!”

Ranita sent Ayaan away, connected with Brown to handle some work, and asked him to help find news about Steve Pearson.

Brown naturally agreed and asked, “When are you coming back? The studio has accumulated a lot of work now, and we don’t have enough manpower. If you don’t come back soon, I’m really going to jump off the building.”

“I’ll finish things here as soon as possible!” Ranita sighed.

In the evening, Ranita absentmindedly ate dinner, put Ayaan to bed, and sneakily went to find Brendon.

As soon as she entered, Brendon reached out to hug her.

There was only a night light on in the room, casting an orange glow that made the house feel cozy. However, in a short time, the living room was filled with a bouquet of roses and a bouquet of peonies. The withered roses were naturally stunning, and the peonies were blooming brilliantly, adding warmth and liveliness to the house.

“Have you eaten?” the man asked her.

“I have!” Ranita looked him up and down. He was wearing a casual round-neck shirt, probably still wearing thin-rimmed glasses on his nose, looking sexy and charming. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

“And you? Have you had dinner?” Ranita glanced at the dining table, which was empty. “Haven’t eaten?”

“Well… no one cooked…” Brendon actually forgot. He had been dealing with a lot of work today and had just finished a remote meeting.

Ranita felt extremely sorry.

“I’ll make you something.” Ranita found some noodles in the fridge, quickly made a bowl of noodles with beef and eggs.

Brendon was very happy and lifted Ranita onto his lap. “Ranita, you’re so good!”

“Eat quickly! The noodles will get mushy if they get cold!” Ranita urged, but Brendon reached out and lifted her leg, his voice deep and throaty: “Before eating noodles, I want to… eat my candy…”
