Alpha Knight’s Cursed Mate

KNIGHT

“You have to let me go, Knight.”

I groaned, hugging her tighter, ignoring her sigh.

“Baby, I need to pee unless you want this bed to smell pee. Then go ahead. I can do it here.”

“I don’t give a shit.” I kissed her shoulder and inhaled her scent into my lungs. “You can pee here.”

“Knight, don’t be such a baby. I’ll be right back, or you can come with me and watch me while peeing.” Her body shook as she laughed silently. “I liked it when you were clingy, but this time, you’re worse than a skin disease.”

“A skin disease with a big dick and a fat bank account.”

“Gee.” I could feel her rolling her eyes. “Egotistic and possessive alpha? That’s not something women would want.”

“Go. Pee and come back to me.” I loosened my arms around her.

When she left for the bathroom, I checked the time. It was five a. m. If there weren’t threats out there, it was a good time to go for a run.

I got up and put on my sweatpants. I wanted to make breakfast for Nirvana and spend more time with her. Last night, after she fell asleep, I emailed my assistant about a long overdue vacation.

With our honeymoon canceled, I didn’t give a shit, even if we spent it at home, as long as I woke up next to her.

I went downstairs to make breakfast. She probably went back to sleep. I scrambled in the kitchen alone. I could make some egg omelet, toast some sliced bread, and squeeze some oranges. I left it to the kitchen for other complicated meals or called a chef.

Thirty minutes later, I was done plating. I pulled a white rose from the vase and took the tray upstairs. As expected, Nirvana was back in bed asleep. Her naked back was exposed almost down her ass.

I put the tray on the nightstand and joined her in bed. She stirred.

“Where did you go?”

“Downstairs.” I kissed her on the cheek. “I made breakfast for you.”

I watched her face light up into a smile, and she opened her eyes.

“Really?”

“Don’t get too excited. It’s just egg and toast.”

“Aw.” She got up, cupped my face, and kissed my lips. “You don’t have to do that, but thanks.”

I picked up the tray and put it on the bed. She was still smiling as she picked up the glass of orange juice. I didn’t realize I hadn’t done this to her or taken her on an actual date.

“What?” She grabbed the fork, stabbed the sliced strawberry, and offered it to me.

I opened my mouth and chewed it. “We just got engaged, got married, and I haven’t taken you on a proper date.”

“It’s overrated. I wouldn’t want to change a thing between us. I love every moment I spend with you.”

I grabbed a slice of toast and took a big bite of it. “I still wanna do it, sweetheart. I know we’re running out of time, but we have Zarah. We can go on a date in Italy or eat pain au chocolat and macaron in Paris.”

“Let’s do it then.”

Surprised by her sudden spontaneity, I asked, “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” She shoved a forkful of omelets into her mouth. “When?”

“This afternoon. Let me talk to Zarah and make some arrangements, and then we’ll be good to go.”

“So, is this just a date or a honeymoon?”

“Both.” I leaned down to kiss her lips. “I love you, Nirvana.”

“Je vous aime.”

“Je t’aime, mon amour.”

She rolled her eyes, amused. “Of course, you speak French and other languages.”

I smiled as I picked up my phone to check my messages. “I took a long vacation from work. Uncle will handle important meetings at the company and my firm.”

“How rich are you exactly?”

“How rich are we?” I looked at her.

She scoffed. “Can I run away with your money?”

“Thanks for the breakfast,” she said, raising her hand to touch my face. “I love you no matter what, Knight. You will always be the one for me.”

I closed my eyes to feel her touch on my cheek, and I felt suddenly overwhelmed with the emotions inside my chest. “I will not love anyone else but you, Nirvana. You are my mate, my wife, my best friend, my whole world, and my eternal love.”

She looked away, blinking off the tears in her eyes. At that moment, I felt what a broken heart meant.

Apparently, Sebastien had an apartment in Paris, where Zarah sent us. We made a quick change before strolling around. Our trip wasn’t well-planned, but we didn’t have time since our honeymoon to Seychelles was canceled.

“You look beautiful.” I fixed the scarf around her neck before I held her hand. “So you’ve been to Paris?”

“Nah. I hadn’t been out of the country. My first trip outside was through the portal to Italy.”

“Really?” I was surprised to hear it.

“Yeah. I told you I loved what I experienced with you and wouldn’t change it for anything.”

“You haven’t told me how you made the deal.”

“We’re gonna talk about it?”

We took a taxi to the Eiffel Tower because that was where she wanted to go. She said it would be romantic.

I couldn’t remember if I had ever been romantic or given flowers to a girl before I met Nirvana. If seeing the iconic tower would put a smile on her face or add to her experience and memories, then who was I to stop her? I would give her the moon if I could.

We arrived at Rue de l’Université to take a picture with the tower in the background.

“Smile, sweetheart.” I took my phone, wrapped my arms around her, and shot a selfie.

“In my phone, too.”

I chuckled as I took her phone from her. “Of course, my love. Then we’re going to Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine next.” I took another selfie and gave it to her.

“I don’t know what that is, but it sounds fun.” She excitedly hooked her hand around my arm.

“It’s a museum, but let’s experience a French kiss before we go.”

She giggled as I cupped her head, captured her lips in a French kiss, shoving my tongue inside her mouth. She gripped my front coat and tiptoed to kiss me back. Our kiss instantly went deep, a lingering one.

She looked dazed, breathing hard as we pulled apart.

Then I kissed her nose, releasing a long breath and a chuckle. “I was not a romantic person until I met you.”

“Let me guess, you don’t kiss someone on the street.” She looked at me as she hugged my arm.

“Yup. I never kissed someone like my life depended on it. I’d never been crazy over a woman, breaking natural law, cheating space and time.”

“Should I say thank you to the Moon Goddess?”

I kissed the top of her head as we went to our next destination. “No, sweetheart. I thank you for giving me this chance to experience what love and being loved feels like.”

“Ditto, Alpha. And thank you for making me experience Paris. I guess you can call me a romantic person. I kind of dream about something like this with the person I love. I didn’t imagine having a boyfriend as handsome as you. You took all the women’s attention on the street, and it’s annoying.”

“Husband, Nirvana.” I laughed as I fixed the collar of my coat and my scarf so I could hide my face. “You don’t know how beautiful you are. Do you? You’re so clueless when it comes to your physical appearance.”

“You’re kidding me.” She stopped and faced me. “You are tall, handsome, with Instagramable physique. I mean, look at your chest, abs, and those biceps. You have the most beautiful green eyes I’ve ever seen. You dress like worth a billion-dollar guy.” She paused. “Are you a billionaire?”

I shook my head in amusement. “And so?”

“God, I don’t even know why you like me besides the Moon Goddess who played a matchmaker.”

“My love, what I feel about you has nothing to do with the Moon Goddess anymore. I love your quirkiness, stubbornness, and disobedience, and I love that you don’t care how rich I am.”

“I should have thought everything first before marrying you.”

“Shut up, Nirvana.” I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and pressed my lips on the top of her head as we walked in the streets of Paris at night. “You’re mine now. No taking it back.”
