Chapter 727
Yvonne's words seemed like she was criticizing Sebastian, but she was implying that if Yerick hadn't misbehaved, Sebastian wouldn't have gotten so angry. Sebastian wasn't the type to hit someone for no reason, so Yerick must have pushed him too far.
Sebastian glanced at Yvonne, and let out a soft sigh. Before Rosalie could speak, he turned to her and said, "I'm sorry, it was my temper. I shouldn't have raised my hand. Don't hold it against me."
Yerick pursed his lips, then glanced at Rosalie and muttered, "Rose, since he's already apologized, why don't you forgive him? Even though he scared me, you arrived in time, so I didn't get hurt."
Yerick's sweet words sounded like he was forgiving Sebastian, but in fact, he was subtly describing how terrifying Sebastian was and how fortunate it was that Rosalie had come back in time.
Rosalie sighed softly.
"Seb, Yerick, since you two clearly don't like each other, I won't force you to meet again. I think it's best if you don't act like best friends anymore. It'll only lead to more conflict."
"Rose, I promise you there won't be a next time," Sebastian quickly explained. "I....."
"Alright, that's enough." Rosalie interrupted him. "I don't want to be upset anymore."
Rosalie was truly exhausted. She had gone to see Theodore, but she hadn't even managed to meet him.
She sighed again. "Both of you, get off the bed now."
She realized that it had been hard for them to stay on the bed for so long, but they had obediently done so out of consideration for her feelings. Knowing this made her anger dissipate.
Sebastian, relieved, quickly got off the bed. Yerick followed, stretching as he did so. "Rose, where did you go? I thought you weren't coming back tonight and was ready to sleep."
Rosalie didn't reveal the truth. Instead, she said, "I just went for a walk to enjoy the scenery. I didn't realize how much time had passed. Yerick, sorry for keeping you here so late. I'll have someone drive you home."
She felt that Yerick had been punished enough today and had learned his lesson, so there was no need to be cold toward him anymore.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"No need, Rose. I can go back on my own. I'll just get a cab."
"I can take him home," Yvonne said. "I'm heading back as well, so I can drop him off."
Rosalie nodded. "That works. Vonnie, thank you. When I'm feeling better, I'll treat you to dinner."
"There's no need to be so polite. We're family." Yvonne gently patted Rosalie's shoulder, then turned to Yerick. "If you don't mind, hop in my car."
"I don't mind at all," Yerick replied with a smile. "Thank you for the ride."
Yvonne then said to Rosalie, "Rose, I'll be off now. Call me if you need anything."
Rosalie responded, "Alright. Be careful on the way, and text me when you get home."
"Will do."
Finally, Yvonne said to Yerick, "Let's go."
Yerick slung his bag over his shoulder and followed Yvonne out of the ward. Now, only Rosalie and Sebastian remained.
Sebastian stared at her silently, saying nothing.
"Sebastian, when did you become so hot-tempered?" Rosalie's question stung Sebastian.
"After I fell in love with you," Sebastian answered truthfully.
Rosalie closed her eyes, exasperated.
Sebastian, feeling aggrieved, said, "You only saw me raise my fist to hit him, but you didn't ask why. Is Yerick really that innocent? He was provoking me like a mischievous child. Whether intentional ornot, he really got on my nerves."
Sebastian tried not to paint Yerick in a bad light, knowing that Rosalie wouldn't believe him anyway. Describing him as a mischievous child seemed like the most appropriate way.
As expected, Rosalie's expression softened a little upon hearing this. She also thought that Yerick was mischievous, and she knew that bratty kids could indeed be very annoying. No wonder Sebastian couldn't hold back.
"Seb, go wash up and get some sleep. I need to rest too."
She was too tired to speak, and just wanted to sleep and wait for tomorrow.
Sebastian could tell Rosalie was exhausted. He didn't know where she had gone, and it was clear she didn't want to tell him. If he asked, it would only irritate her further so he chose to remain silent.
"Alright, Rose. You rest early, too."
