Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 757

In the early hours of the morning, Theodore sat in the penthouse, gazing down at the view through the large windows. Outside, the lights sparkled, and the bustling streets twisted and turned. Even in the dead of night, the city remained vibrant.

He reached out to touch the bottle of liquor beside him, but just as he was about to grab it, the bottle was taken away.

Theodore turned around, frowning as he extended his hand. "Give it back."

"Don't drink anymore. Your wounds haven't healed yet." Caleb forcibly took the bottle.

Theodore snapped coldly, "If you don't let me drink, do you want me to jump off the building?"

"Don't try to scare me. My heart is weak. If you jump here, I'll die of fright, and then I'll hunt you down in hell and give you a good beating," Caleb said. Theodore chuckled. "Then I won't jump."

He had considered jumping and had almost done it, but at the last moment, Wesley stopped him.

Later, he waited for Rosalie, but no matter how long he waited, she never came.

He wanted to see her one last time before dying, but in the end, she never showed.

He thought about jumping again, but...

In the end, he no longer wanted to.

Caleb sat down beside him. "Theo, how long are you going to hide out here with me?"

Theodore had contacted Caleb and asked the latter to secretly pick him up from the hospital. He even hired a hacker to sabotage the hospital's surveillance.

No one knew that Theodore had left the hospital; he simply vanished.

All he wanted was to disappear.

After thinking it through, there was only Caleb's place where he could find some peace and quiet for a while.

"I'll buy this building. You can move out, and I'll stay here alone," Theodore joked.

Seeing that Theodore still had the mood to joke around, Caleb knew he probably wasn't going to commit suicide anymore.

It was already close to one in the morning. Theodore was injured, not sleeping, and still drinking, as if he was deliberately exhausting his body. As his friend, Caleb was deeply concerned.

"You should have a good talk with Rosalie."

The mention of Rosalie's name made Theodore's brow furrow.

Caleb mustered up the courage to continue, "You should talk to her. Maybe she'll apologize, and then you can use t that as an excuse to get her back. She might still feel guilty about what happened, and that could bring her back to you."

Caleb knew the whole story, and when he first heard it, he was shocked. He had wanted to tell Theodore that a woman like Rosalie wasn't worth it, especially after she had abandoned him for another man and showed no concern for his well-being.

But now, seeing Theodore in this state, Caleb realized how deeply he loved Rosalie. He would even die for her without hesitation. He was still deeply in love with her.

If Caleb dared to suggest that Theodore give up on Rosalie, he might get beaten up by his friend.

Even though Theodore himself couldn't face her right now, he wouldn't allow anyone else to say a bad thing about her.

"Heh." Theodore suddenly scoffed. "Are you suggesting that we get back together out of guilt and not love?"This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

If Rosalie truly loved him, how could she have chosen Sebastian? Ten years of love couldn't compare to the few months she had spent with Sebastian. Did she even love him anymore? The thought was laughable.

Even if he and Rosalie sat down and talked, what would come of it? Even if she stayed with him, it wouldn't be because of love.

If Rosalie no longer loved him but forced herself to stay, Theodore wasn't sure if he'd die from despair.

It was because he loved her with all his heart. His love for her had evolved from possessiveness to letting go. Perhaps this was a higher level of love. "How do you know she doesn't love you? You should talk to her. You're hiding here, refusing to see her. How would you know..." Caleb began.

"It's not that I refuse to see her,"

Theodore interrupted coldly, turning his head. "Caleb, she's the one who doesn't want to see me. I waited for her for so long, but she lied to me again. That woman is always lying!"
