Chapter 759
Aurora was taken aback, thinking she might have misheard. Her expression was one of confusion.
"What do you mean by compensation?" He had asked her for her number. Wasn't it because he wanted to contact her?
"You saved me, so I want to give you some money as compensation. You can leave now."
Theodore's expression was cold and devoid of warmth. His words were also filled with a lack of compassion.
He had said thank you, but his so-called gratitude was being expressed through money. Aurora felt that this man showed her no respect. Noticing that he hadn't left, Theodore turned his head and glanced at her indifferently. "Is there anything else?"
"Mr. Spencer."
Aurora struggled to hold back her tears. She felt a bit wronged, but maintained a calm exterior.
She added, "I feel like you're humiliating me."
Theodore responded coolly, "I'm not humiliating you. Perhaps I misspoke. This is a thank-you gift, not compensation."
It was the truth. He had not meant to insult her. He merely wanted to offer her money as a form of thanks, nothing more.
"Is that so? But I still feel humiliated." Aurora smiled bitterly. "Do you think I came here just to ask you for money? Do you believe everyone is that greedy in your eyes? Or do men like you always see women this way, thinking they are all after money?"
Theodore remained silent.
Aurora stepped forward, picked up the sticky note from the bedside that still had her number on it, and tore it up. She threw the pieces into the trashCòntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
can.
"I suppose I won't leave you my number after all. I didn't expect you to insult me like this. A simple thank you would have been enough. I don't need your gratitude or your money. If you must think of me as such a woman, then so be it."
Aurora took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "I shouldn't have come today. should have left after taking you to the hospital. If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have had to endure this humiliation."
Aurora turned to leave.
After taking a few steps, she stopped and said, "Although I'm very angry now, don't regret saving you I know what you were trying to do by the window. I don't know what, happened, but if you died, everything would be lost, and your unfinished business will become regrets forever."
Aurora wiped her tears, and tried to leave.
"Wait a minute," Theodore called out to her.
Aurora stopped. "Is there something else?"
Theodore lifted his blanket, got out of bed, and walked slowly over to her. With Theodore standing at six feet two and Aurora only at five feet two, she looked like a small rabbit beside a lion.
As he approached, Aurora's heart raced. She looked up at him.
Theodore simply stood there, silently observing her.
The light in the ward illuminated his face from above, making his handsome features hard to look away from. His attractiveness wasn't just skin deep, but in his very bones.
Aurora, extremely nervous, asked, "D-Do you need anything else?"
"What's your name?" Theodore still didn't know the name of his benefactor.
He looked at Aurora's face, feeling that it resembled Rosalie's in some ways, especially her eyes.
Even her shy and flustered expression was almost identical to Rosalie's. Particularly when she got angry, her darkened expression was almost like Rosalie's.
For a moment, he thought she was Rosalie.
Unfortunately, she was not.
