Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 760

"My name is Aurora Payne," she replied.

"I'm Theodore Spencer. Nice to meet you, Ms. Payne." His tone was no longer as cold as before.

Aurora nodded. "Nice to meet you. I know you're Theodore Spencer. I recognized you when I was saving you. I've seen you on TV. You're the CEO of SK Enterprise."

Theodore gave her a helpless smile. "So what if I'm the CEO of SK Enterprise?"

Hearing the dejection in his tone, Aurora thought about him climbing the window ledge earlier.

She quickly said, "I don't know what's going on, but whatever it is, I believe it can be resolved. You're so capable, you don't need to—"

She wanted to say that he didn't need to resort to extreme measures, but Theodore himself didn't acknowledge it, so saying it would seem like she was overstepping.

After all, they weren't close to each other. Even though she saved his life, she couldn't just speak her mind freely.

"Some problems cannot be solved by being capable. Moreover, you misunderstood. I'm not capable."

Theodore sat back down by the bed, his gaze devoid of any shine. "I'm a very flawed man. I can't even make the woman I love stay. What use am I?" "The woman...you love?"

Hearing this, Aurora felt a deep sense of loss. Theodore had always kept a low profile, and the rare glimpses she saw of him on TV were always related to business. She didn't know much about his personal life. Did his heart already belong to a woman?

What kind of woman could make such a man feel this way? Was she a queen, a princess, or a fairy? How could she make him feel so dejected? "Mr. Spencer, please don't say that." Although Aurora had been a bit upset with him earlier, her heart softened. "Everyone goes through low points in their lives. I believe you'll get through this. Any problem in this world can be solved. Just give yourself some time. You mustn't belittle yourself."

Theodore lifted his head and managed a faint smile. "Thank you for your kind words, but this hurdle is a cliff. I can't get past it."

"If you can't get past it, why not go around it?" Aurora asked. "There are many roads you can choose. You don't have to stick to one you can't pass. If the road ahead is a cliff, why force yourself to cross it? Some paths simply can't be crossed. It's not our fault."

Theodore lowered his gaze, deeply dejected. "It's my fault. I created the cliff. I deserve not to be able to cross it."

"No cliff is created by a person alone," Aurora said.

She moved closer. Seeing Theodore's distress made her feel upset as well.

"Mr. Spencer, sometimes, it's not always our fault. Even if the cliff was created by you, what's done has been done. If you can't cross it, thèn find another path or build a bridge over it. There's always a way to solve it."

Build a bridge. Hearing this, Theodore's eyes flickered with a hint of light. They were no longer as dim as before.

But soon, he smiled helplessly again. "Thank you for comforting me."

No matter how many bridges he built on the cliff, Rosalie would cut them down. She wouldn't want him anymore.

"Ms. Payne, it's very late. You should go home."

"Alright. I won't disturb your rest."This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Indeed, it was very late. Aurora didn't know what had gotten into her. She had come impulsively, wanting to see him.

At the door, she turned and asked, "Can I come to see you again?"

Theodore sighed softly, and wrote his number on a sticky note.

Aurora's heart leapt with joy. She quickly took the number from him. "Is this your number?"

Theodore nodded. "You saved me. If you need any help in the future, call this number."

He didn't want to owe Aurora anything. Since she didn't want money, he hoped that he could help her with something else in the future.

Aurora didn't expect to get Theodore's number, and was overjoyed. She suppressed her happiness and said, "I got it."

She wanted to ask if she could come

to see him again, but he hadn't answered her first question, only giving her his number. She felt awkward asking again. Perhaps she should wait a few days and then call him.

Aurora, still not having left, found herself thinking about what would happen a few days later.

"Then I'll leave now. Rest well." Aurora carefully folded the sticky note and put it into her bag, afraid of losing it.

She left the room with light steps.

Theodore watched her leave. She really resembled Rosalie her silhouette, the way she walked.

Despite the fact she looked so much like Rosalie, it couldn't quench Theodore's longing. Instead, it only made him suffer more. It felt like an acute reaction, and it hurt.

He sighed, took out his phone, and dialed the number. "Caleb, I need a favor."
