Chapter 9 Miss Elizabeth, Do You Think You Are Too Good for Me?

Robert was whispering threats.

Elizabeth’s face burned, and her whole body felt warmer.

She turned her face away, and spoke with restraint and caution, “Mr. Williams, I have promised you to

keep a secret, and I did at the police station yesterday. I could look past what you have done... But I do

not understand why you are still bothering me.”

Robert took off his suit and threw it aside. He was wearing only a white shirt, looking noble and gentle.

The playful look on his face now contradicted the professional lecturer he showed up as earlier on the

podium.

Elizabeth’s body stiffened, and she wasn’t sure what to do.

Robert put his knees against her two thin legs, and at the same time, his hand reached to loosen his

tie. Elizabeth found the curvature of the corners of his lips was too sexy, and all she did was try and

avoid looking at it directly.

His hand was on her back, rubbing lightly and firmly.

The strength was extremely accurate.

“I came to teach at Riverside College for you, Miss Elizabeth, but you showed nothing but coldness and

unconcern. I am in a really bad mood.”

Elizabeth’s gorgeous face was full of doubts, “You came here for me?”

It might just be her illusion, but Robert seemed to press harder against her knees.

Elizabeth was in a simple dress, but the plain color of it could barely conceal her purity.

Robert pursed his lips, and said in a deep voice, “Are there anyone else like Miss Elizabeth at

Riverside College?”

Robert had a reputable background and was Marvin’s rival in the business field. Elizabeth was trying to

stay alert and to avoid getting too close.

Robert said with confidence. “Men's interest in women has always been sexual. I will be honest with

you.”

“You were right about me having no problem with the ladies.” He smiled as if he was the most arrogant

emperor in the world, “But Elizabeth, I want you.”

“Me?!” Elizabeth was so nervous and couldn’t fake to be calm anymore. She was like a frightened

rabbit.

Robert’s thin lips twitched slightly, “What’s wrong? Miss Elizabeth, do you think that you are too good

for me?"

He has been holding her in his arms for so long that his cologne got all over her. She was not even

paying attention to this.

She was so nervous that her palms started sweating. She mumbled, “No, there is this a big age

difference between us. Besides, I have to follow the strict rules and standards of the Bennett family. My

brother Marvin would never allow me to date anyone during college time.”

When Robert heard her words, his bottomless eyes showed trifling irony.

Robert suddenly reached out his finger to hook Elizabeth’s neckline, and gently pulled it. Her neckline

tilted, revealing half of her shoulder.

A few conspicuous crimson traces caught his eyes.

Elizabeth fidgeted to cover her shoulder immediately. Robert crossed the line, and she was about to

denounce him.

“Raised with strict rules and standards, didn’t you? How about those hickeys all over you, does the

Bennett’s allow those, too? It seems like you just enjoyed what was going on in the car outside the

police station, didn’t you?”

Elizabeth wrapped herself tightly with both arms for protection. Her furious shame and resentment were

unspoken.

It was beyond her expectation that Robert would carelessly speak about her shameless secret.

Elizabeth was hoping that it would have stayed as an inside scandal of the Bennett family without

anyone else knowing.

Not even her best friend, Ann Charke.

Marvin was about to throw an engagement party. If this dirty secret got exposed, it would be an

inevitable chaotic nightmare.

Elizabeth had no choice. She shook her head and firmly denied, “I don’t follow, Mr. Williams, but please

show some respect. The Bennett family has lived up to our honorable reputation for hundreds of years.

And you would face charges for defamation if our family got slandered for no reason.”

Robert wasn’t upset that Elizabeth just threatened him. He was, on the contrary, smiling.

Elizabeth couldn’t handle it anymore as he was getting closer and closer.

Robert grabbed both of her wrists, pressing them separately against the edge of the table.

“Oh sweetheart, when you are mine, you will come to your senses. I will spoil you and cherish you

dearly.”

“As for Marvin Williams, the sooner you cut ties with him, the better.”

“And you probably didn’t know, but Marvin has lost interest in you, his stepsister, which is not a secret

anymore among our social circles. Marvin once claimed he would auction you off at the Banquet when

your mother kicked the bucket. And anyone can bid on you. Everyone knows that you are the daughter

of the social butterfly, Aileen Bennett. Almost every celebrity wants their hands on you.”
