Chapter 700 Being Made An Example

“If you like jewelry, you can always come over to my place. I have a lot that I don't really wear that

much anymore. If you want, you can take pictures with them on.” Skylar almost spat her coffee out

when she heard Saorise's words. Is this woman serious right now? Is she trying to mock me or

something?

“With so many cameras pointing at us, you seriously thought it was a good idea to say something like

that?” questioned Skylar with a forced smile.

Immediately, Saorise covered her mouth before turning to look at the cameras. “Please forgive me. I

was just trying to be nice.”

At that point, Skylar had already reached the limit of her patience. “Anyone in the right mind would think

otherwise.”

Suddenly, there was serious tension between the two artists. Whatever Saorise's intentions were, her

words had already upset Skylar.

“I'm utterly disgusted right now. To think that someone would treat me like some sort of street rat,”

voiced Skylar before she unceremoniously walked away from Saorise.

Skylar had already gone outside when some crew members came over to comfort Saorise.

Watching from a distance, Mavis was impressed by how guileful the young artist was. Saorise

pretended to be nice, but she probably didn't expect Skylar to respond that way.

Still, Mavis envied how well-loved Saorise was. Not only did Saorise have countless fans who loved

her, but she also had Tobias' support.

It was said that Ford Group was ready to renew Saorise's contract so that they could have her on the

billboards in all their commercial plazas.

Some people could only dream of having so much exposure.

On the other side, the director closed the glass door behind him before approaching Skylar.

“We have a script, you know? So could you at least try to keep your temper in check?”

to act friendly even after what that woman said to me, you've got another thing coming. What would the

viewers think of me if I just accepted her offer graciously? I'd be the joke of the century!”

Seeing how upset Skylar was, the director sighed. “I'm just asking you to try to look at it in a different

way. Maybe Saorise didn't mean to offend you; maybe she's really just trying to be nice. She's probably

just not good at expressing herself.”

At that moment, Skylar was convinced the director had sided with Saorise and that it was a terrible idea

should just keep her niceness to herself if she doesn't know how to express it.”

The director never expected Skylar to be so difficult to deal with. After all, the woman was smart

enough to threaten him with the police in order to defend her reputation.

“There's no need to burn bridges. Saorise is going to be working under the same company as you are

soon, so I imagine news of discord between you two will benefit nobody. Besides, Saorise is more

popular than you, and Mr. Ford personally requested her to be the company's brand ambassador.
