Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 2291

Chapter 2291

Jason stood beside her, both of them gazing out at the twinkling lights outside. "Feeling sad is totally normal," he said. "Losing a long-held habit or someone who's been by your side for a while, it's natural to feel upset, to feel a bit lost."

He turned to look at her. "What matters is, how do you deal with it?"

Sophia bit her lip. "I know. I have my principles. No matter how much I liked him, I can't lose my self-respect."

She had refused to believe Robin could betray her, clinging to the hope they could reconcile. But now that she was certain, she vowed never to look back.

"The future's still wide open. What you've lost, you'll find again somewhere else!" Jason said softly.

Sophia tilted her head and rested it on his shoulder. "Suddenly, I'm grateful I still have you. I can live without Robin, but not without you! You're like, you know, a dad to me!"

Her first words had sent Jason's heart racing, his blood pumping as if he was speeding down a highway at full throttle. But her next, about him being like a dad, brought his speeding heart to a screeching halt, leaving him feeling like he'd just had a heart attack!

And during the holidays, no less, she had aged him by a generation!

Sophia was speaking from her heart. Since she was little, Jason had been her rock, guiding her through life and looking after her in every way.

Her actual dad was always busy with work, so Jason had stepped into that role in her life.

Jason looked up at the sky, feeling as if his own sky was dark, wondering when the stars would appear again.

In the room, Mrs. Gilder looked out the window and said to Jasmine, "How about our families become in-laws?"

Jasmine laughed. "You're quite bold, wanting to steal my daughter!"

Mrs. Gilder, holding a cup of tea, her gaze calm and gentle, said, "I genuinely believe those two are a good match. I couldn't bear to see Sophia marry into another family. When Sophia had a boyfriend, I couldn't speak up. But now that they've broken up, please give it some thought."

Jasmine sighed. "Of course, I'd like

that. But that silly girl of mine hasn't seen the light yet. She doesn't realize Jason's worth. Plus, she's just had a breakup. She's not in the right mindset, and it wouldn't be fair to Jason either. Let's wait a bit longer."

Mrs. Gilder's gentle smile returned. "Yes, there's no rush. As long as we're on the same page, that's what matters."

"I understand," Jasmine nodded slowly.

Old Mr. Jarvis announced he wanted ravioli for dinner, so Mr. Justin started preparing the filling just after noon.

In the afternoon, after Old Mr. Jarvis

el

had taken his nap, he suggested they make ravioli together. Mr. Justin brought out the prepared filling and the dough they had kneaded earlier, letting Old Mr.

Jarvis shape the first ravioli

Estelle, Sylvia, and Jonathan Gabriel watched as Old Mr. Jarvis placed the first ravioli in the center of the tray.

Mr. Justin came over with a small dish containing shiny coins, candies, and a piece of tofu, chuckling, "I saw this tradition online. You hide these items in the ravioli, and whoever finds them will have great fortune in the New Year. Why don't you include a few, sir?" Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

"That sounds wonderful!" Old Mr. Jarvis beamed. "We have four children, so let's make four special ones: one with a coin, one with tofu. Estelle loves sweets, so we'll make two with candy. Whatever they find, that's their luck!"

Estelle suggested, "Why not make them all with coins and candy? Then everyone gets something good!"

Old Mr. Jarvis turned and huffed, "How about I don't use any filling at all and just wrap yours entirely in candy? You'd like that even more!" Laughter filled the room.

Mr. Justin added, "You know, I heard this tradition is actually about getting the kids to eat more. If everything was just coins and candy, they'd lose interest and wouldn't eat as much."

Old Mr. Jarvis nodded, still smiling. "Let's leave it up to luck then, and see who's the most fortunate among us today!"
